An astral communion Druid deck that works?

I'm missing a few important Druid cards to try to make use of a combo deck (namely, force of nature), so I've been toying with the idea of Astral Communion and loading a bunch of big minions. Results have been mixed, although sometimes this kind of thing happens:



On the other hand, that rarely happens, because you pretty much have to get the exact cards you need on your first draw + mulligan or you're sitting there with your pants down for a few turns. And a lot of the time, you end up losing Aviana or other important cards, which completely destroys your tempo and you've lost by your 5th turn already.

Is there any reliable way to make Astral Communion work, or is it just an all-or-nothing card put in for "funsies"?
