Ironstorm1221 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2015 Hey everyone. I am a returning Demo/Destro (in that order) lock as of 2 weeks ago. I haven't raided since ToT/Early SoO and I am looking for some help with my lackluster DPS (Sub 35k consistent dps). Here is what I am looking from from this thread 1.) What am I consistently doing wrong in my rotation, talents etc? 2.) I love Demo, what fights can I reasonably keep up with other DPS on as Demo in HFC? 3.) I have terrible gear (I know), however, if I had full gear I would like you to try to estimate my DPS based on my current ability and logs. Would my dps go up by 5k? 10k? 20k? If I had full non-mythic BiS gear. I hope that helps you in response to my post, anything you add would be wonderful! I am looking forward to getting back to the beast warlock that I used to be. Ironstorm1221 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2015 I should mention, I really struggle with Demonbolt, I hate the playstyle. I read on the forums here and on simcraft that the diff between demonbolt and DS/Go:Serv is minimal, and I prefer the demonbolt-less playstyle. So I choose that when possible. I go Demonbolt if there is only a small window to DPS and I need to do max dmg (Gorefeind feast). Hope that helps and weird talent choices. Let me know if that is totally not viable. Unfortunately, I won't be able to read your logs as I am vastly unfamiliar with World of Logs (I don't know if anyone on these forums is proficient with that site.) but I can give you some feedback on your current situation and address your questions. 2.) I love Demo, what fights can I reasonably keep up with other DPS on as Demo in HFC? If you love Demo, then there is no stopping you playing it, but I do want to warn you of it. Recently, Blizz nerfed the spec into the ground. It is our hardest spec to learn how to play and does very poor single target damage compared to most other specs in the game. Where Demonology excels is in burst AoE situations. The main fight you'll use it in is Kormrok. Take Cataclysm and blow the hands into the heavens. Mythic Mannoroth is also a great place to take Demo, due to the sheer amount of imps. In most other situations Demonology will not be very good. This past week I cleared farm as Demo for all fights but Gorefiend and Iskar. The majority of the time I was middle of the pack, whereas I would be riding top as Destro or Affliction. If you are dead set on this spec though, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the Demonbolt playstyle. The only time Serv/Serv really surpasses it is in really short single target fights (Fel Lord Zakuun and Reaver if you can one-phase it). 3.) If I had full non-mythic BiS gear. My philosophy is technique first, gear second. Work on your rotation in pugs, make sure you have absolute knowledge of your class. Once that is achieved, then you can worry about gear. That being said, yes, your gear is a little lack-luster. It appears you have only recently returned to the game, so don't sweat it. Work on getting your legendary finished and getting your set bonuses. After that comes trinkets. The rest should fall into place if you know your stat priorities. I CAN read them...but it's like trying to read Latin or ACSII, its really painful and time consuming. So...I won't read them. Sorry. Re-upload your logs to warcraftlogs.com and we can get started. I have set up Warcraft Logs and will repost when I have some accurate data. Also, Thanks to Curinir, some excellent advice and I have sort of given up the demo dream for now. Legion maybe?
