Control Priest Wild

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the answer... i've got another question: Is it possible to cut a slot for Sylvanas in this deck? =)

In place of one of the cards you used as a replacement for Entomb. However, include her only if your meta is slow midrange or control.

This is arguably the most difficult deck I have ever played. Ridiculously sensitive to lucky draws and an unnecessary amount of RNG.

Far too little survivability and board clearing that doesnt involve killing off your own board presence.

is there anybody that's still playing control priest here??I'm trying to make this list work but it just gets crushed by both aggro and control.i think this list needs a serious revamp with the new Elise, potion of madness and possibly removing blademasters\auchenai circle combo.the new Elise with shadow visions can be a great win condition vs control while option is pretty good vs aggro.also i think the best control non Reno priest should be a mix of this deck and the standard medivh-amber package.lyra could be good too but I'm hesitant to play her.what do you guys think?is there any chance for updates in this deck(and the nzoth build-the arguments are the same-it loses to both control and aggro when it shouldn't)?

I play both regular control and Zoth control, and this build feels weaker than the Zoth version, though both are somewhat weak in current meta.

Elise the Trailblazer combo takes up 3 slots, and sucks against aggro. Against control, you might want to use Elise Starseeker instead, as she gives you more consistent late-game threats.
Potion of Madness can be used in place of Museum Curator or Cabal Shadow Priest if you want.

Removing the Circle of Healing combo significantly reduces your mid-game power, and removes one of the best AoEs in the game. If you want to go this way, I would suggest playing N'Zoth priest instead.

You can play Lyra the Sunshard in the place of Cabal Shadow Priest.

I don't have any major issues with the N'Zoth variant. The huge amount of taunts stops aggro cold, and N'Zoth, the Corruptor gives you a solid win condition against control.

How do you win with this deck? I am not saying it is bad or something, because I never played it.

Board clears, heal cards and Justicar, bunch of Anti-Aggro cards like Deathlords and Belchers. Also there are some single target removals, like SW:D and Entomb.

Injured Blademaster can stick to the board and be buffer. Also Entomb can steal a threat. These are the things I can think of.

@FanOfValeeraInjured BlademasterCabal Shadow Priest and Museum Curator (the discovered minion, that is) are your main win conditions, with Fatigue being the secondary and Entombed minions being a win condition somewhat dependent on RNG. Against aggro, you are aiming to outlast them (obviously), and they concede most of the time if you are able to get into the late-game.

well then i might be playing the deck wrong,or the pirate warrior is that bad a matchup.i have chained deathlord into tortolan into belcher into double clear and still haven't been able to fend off the frothing-axe-captain openings...while against control it seems that i remove their major threats and then on the third minion I don't have removal and i just lose the lack of lightbomb in my build also is important to this, cuz azure Drake has solo beat me many times.although against kazakus i think i usually lose with nzoth that's why i have been trying this version...i will test again after the lightbomb craft and then i will see the results.thank you for the feedback!!(I'm trying for golden priest and the other deck types ain't my style im the pure control guy in priest so this feedback is very helpful to me :) )

@positiv2 Are we sure Museum Curator is a good win condition? In wild, there are so many deathrattles, chances are you will get a Haunted Creeper or a Nerubian Egg

And there is a problem with Cabal Shadow Priest, too. Against aggro, you can steal a minion, however 6 mana 4/5 is slow, in terms of tempo. Against control, where she can really shine with the extra value she brings, there are not many targets to steal with her, not everyone plays Ysera. Can we go with a copy of Pint-Size Potion, maybe instead of one Holy Nova, so that even the likes of Sylvanas Windrunner can be targeted?

Why I suggested cutting Holy Nova? Because it only deals 2 damage, there is no spell damage in the deck. In combination with Wild Pyromancer, other cheap spells will do the trick.

Museum Curator can pick up win conditions but don't rely solely on it as sometimes you may need to pick up something smaller just to handle the situation at hand.

Pint-Size Potion is helpful in some situations but I wouldn't recommend it in the deck. Besides, Shrinkmeister is already included in the deck to go with Cabal Shadow Priest or just to pop something with Shadow Word: Pain all while having a body of his own. While it's nice to hit targets like Ysera with Cabal Shadow Priest, she is one of the targets you are aiming to hit with Entomb

Holy Nova is great in wild due to all the aggro. While it might not kill everything stand-alone, it can weaken your opponent's board for you to finish off minions with yours or to finish them off while also healing your own board after trading.

This deck is very reactive and most of your wins are going to come from your opponent conceding more often than you will actually kill them yourself.

Against Pirate Warrior you are going to need more than just your taunts, you will need things like Wild PyromancerHoly Nova and Circle of Dealing (Auchenai Soulpriest + Circle of Healing) to help back them.  As far as control goes, Lightbomb's inclusion will definitely help you there.

That's why getting 3 options from discover is huge. You may get 3 small minions, but you will usually get a mix of small and big minions, allowing you to choose between trying to outlast aggro by getting a small minion and getting a big threat against control.

Yeah, AoE slot is pretty flexible. You can include any amount of copies of Excavated EvilLightbomb or Holy Nova until you are happy with the clear power.

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
