Jace 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2016 The monk was originally designed to have NO auto attack, and every ability is more of a direct action. Other classes, such as the shaman were not built that way. You can enable auto attack by engaging in melee combat and/or right clicking them. If you decide to go Enhancement, which is the melee shaman, you will be using melee skills as openers which will result in auto attacking the target. As for blocking with the shield, it's also auto-blocking a small percentage of the time, since Shaman doesn't have a high block chance, and likely never will. I hope this helps, and makes sense.
