Not even close. The shield with a Justice Lantern will be blocking more often. The Zodiac requires a spender. There is not one in this build. Once you start spending wrath the Aquilla Curiass defence goes out the window.

This is definitely an available stat - do you have a single resist already on the helm in the secondary stats?

It would appear to be a flatter, more predictable damage curve than timing IS cooldowns with CoE procs.  Thoughts?

An answer already kind of states this, but the damage bonus from CoE is huge. Although you are playing around a cycle, you will learn to stack mobs for the bad elements and then simply melt packs during your damage uptime.

CoE is an incredibly good ring, definitely don't replace it.

As stated above, it's not even close. Your build will fall apart once you bring in OROTZ.

I've been following this build and have pretty much everything for it now and I must say it's very fun. However I don't understand the importance of Strength over Vitality? Normally yeah, but with the Heart of Iron for every point of Strength I put in I was getting not even 1 extra thorns damage but with Vitality I was getting like 23 more thorns per point.
Is there something I am missing or is the Strength for the armour increase? Or does it maybe effect block chance/amount?

Anyone else seeing the contradiction of having both Steed Charge and Provoke in this build, or the fact that there is not RMB skill listed?

Suggestions:

When running bounties, cube Swiftmount, which doubles the duration of Steed Charge. Very helpful when the bounty objective requires you to get to level 2 of some zone, this way you can run right through the level 1. 
Akarat's Champion - Rally is more useful than Akarat's Chamption - Prophet when speedrunning. You shouldn't be dying if you're doing speedruns, so the Prophet rune doesn't do anything. But the extra cooldown is nice.

Here's the guide's explanation:

Strength and Vitality are recommended on all pieces of your gear, as they both feed into your Thorns damage (the former by default, and the latter through the unique affix of Heart of Iron Heart of Iron).

Strength increases all damage done.

There is no contradiction. You need to enable elective mode in the options.

There is no need for Swiftmount - In-geom allows for permanent Steed usage when cubed, as long as you maintain the buff while also adding to your other abilities' output.

Again, you simply don't need the CDR from Rally since In-geom does exactly the same thing. Also remember that, there are speedruns of GRift 70+. You can definitely die there.

With CDR from gear/gems, you can easily reach below 13 seconds on the CD of Steed. Ingeom reduces it by another 10, this becomes below 3 second CD and 0 downtime on the steed.

If you take Swiftmount instead, you are looking at a 6 second duration with a ~11-13s cooldown assuming some CDR.

For ingeom to be activated during bounties, you have to kill elites. Why are you killing elites while running through a zone if they're not part of the bounty objectives?

Because even if you take 5-6 seconds to kill an elite pack, which very rarely happens, you're still faster than not killing them at all and using Swiftmount.

From what I have been able to read on several sites recently, Sanguinary Braces in the cube seem to provide significantly more damage than Heart of Iron. Does everybody concur on this?

As much as i hated leveling up, that much I love the thornsader build.

I'm in season 9 in paragon 346 but don't seem to find "Vo'Toyias Spiker" and "Heart of iron" though.

I have "Angel hair braid" (survivability) "blood brother" (damage/survivability) cubed instead.

I have bombartment (barrels of spikes) instead of Laws of Justice because bombartment seems to do significant damage in my build.

I did grift 62 but can't stretch it much further.

I might try using bane of the stricken instead of bane of the powerfull but that would lack some survivability.

Any hints?

Unless they have been buffed very recently, they have a dreadful proc rate, bad RNG can lead to even worse damage output and they don't benefit from a number of bonuses that do stack with your Invoker's bonuses. The radius is also smaller than the Invoker's set bonus.

Well:

  • You haven't enchanted a fair few pieces of gear at all, for some reason.
  • Bombardment definitely shouldn't be used instead of LoJ.
  • Your replacements are fine, they're not as good as the chosen pieces, but they work until you get better ones in the cube.
  • Your gems are incredibly low level for trying to push higher rifts. I would speed farm 45s-55s until your gems are higher level.
  • Stricken is definitely better than Powerful for GRs. If you are struggling with survivability, it's probably because you took out one of your surv. abilities for Bombardment.

Just a few hints.

Yeah, the scoundrel is a very niche follower that only really fits into some builds/situations. Templar is the go-to for most.

Actually it is confirmed that they have been buffed in recent patches and do not have these issues anymore...

Did they buff the proc rate? Do we know how often it actually procs now? I think it used to sit at around 5-10% or something.

      The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped.       Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.       Here's a preview of Season 33 and Patch 2.7.8 that will soon be available for testing on the PTR.
      Shades of Nephalem Theme
      In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
      In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
      We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.
      PTR Testing
      Patch 2.7.8 will be available for testing for one week. Initially, Blizzard planned to test out the patch from September 17 through September 24, but they ran into some unexpected issues and testing has been delayed. New Mac executables for Silicon and Intel chips will be available in this build, as revealed by Blizzard.

      The Head and Shoulder slots of the Conqueror Set are coming, alongside Black Soulstone-themed portratis and the Loremaster pennant.

      Complete the Season 33 journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Here are the Conqueror requirements for Diablo III in the upcoming season. This will grant you an additional stash tab (up to a max of 5).

      Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55.       The Season of Ethereal Memory will start later today at 5 p.m. PDT (NA Servers), 5 p.m. CEST (EU Servers), and 5 p.m. KST (Asian Servers). The theme of Season 32 was first introduced with Season 24 and is now back for another round!
      What are Ethereal Memories?
      The theme of the season reintroduces the Ethereals, which are rare and powerful items known from Diablo II and reimagined for Diablo III. You will be able to hunt for all 21 iconic weapons of Diablo 2 during the season, but this time they will be harder to find and will only drop in Ancient or Primal rarity!

      As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
      For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
      Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
      Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem.       Seasonal Conquest
      Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 32? Here are the challenges you’ll face!
      For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at Level 70 on Torment X or higher. Push your way to Greater Rift Level 75 to complete Divinity/Lionhearted. For the fiercest demon slayers, Boss Mode/Worlds Apart is a speed challenge where you’ll need to eliminate the following bosses at Level 70 and Torment X in under twenty minutes:

      Haedrig’s Gift
      Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
      Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
      The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.
      Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
