LoN Bombardment Crusader

Recommended Posts

I have one question, I see there is vitality on shoulders and area damage on amulet. Wouldn't it be better to make it vitality on amulet since it can goes up to 1000 and only 750 on shoulders. Maybe it's not possible to roll all together bomb, cdr and area on same shoulders?

Heya - the general idea is that amulets roll some of the best offensive stats that you cannot roll on shoulders (crit stats, elemental damage, open socket). Skipping on any of these on the amulet would be a bigger loss of damage than you would like. You can have a Str/CDR/AD/Bomb% roll on shoulders, but Vit usually gets thrown in to make the build less glass cannon.

Hey Folks,

i got a Question or better i need your help ^^

I found today a good Doombringer (Ancient) with these stats:

+1467 - 1845 psn dmg

Physdmg 20%

833 Strg

928 Vit

Cdr 8%

I socket it with Ramaladnis

My Question in this Point is, which stat i can reroll for Aoe dmg? Is that ok when i reroll the psn dmg? because the build works with Thorns and Phys dmg push it up or i need it ?

Regards Judgementday

Good day guys

Just a quick question..

I have strongarm bracers with better rolls than my saguinary vambraces.. but im not running condemned build..

So which should i pick? The sb or sv?

Thanks for time to answer.. both are ancients btw

Hey! Do your Strongarms have a Thorns roll in the secondaries as well (as it isn't a natural roll like Sanguinary)? If it's truly a well-rolled bracer (Str/Vit/Physical %/Thorns), you can freely use the Strongarm too.

Could you also add details of how to use the consecration skill into the skills section. Was confused as it kept mentioning shield glare.

Does the legendary weapon "hack" not work with all the thorns in this build?

Same issue as idunno999 got confused by the shield glare. Thanks for the guide and keeping it updated though.

Heya, sorry for the Consecration confusion! It should be Shield Glare Divine Verdict in the skill selection, just like the written guide discusses it. It will be fixed asap.

As for the Hack question, the weapon would work - but only on your casts (which excludes Belt of the Trove procs), and will bring a lesser damage benefit than the listed BiS, Doombringer.

Background: I've played D3 off and on through various seasons, but never played Crusader or an LoN build.

Question: Having reached 70 of course, gotten my Roland's set, and slowly begun farming, leveling legendary gems, I can do up to Tier 45 (fairly easily) GRifts etc.  At what point do I transition to trying to build this LoN set.  Are the gear pieces under that section of the guide listed in order of priority?  If I just have a few essential pieces then does any Ancient in other slots (having Str, Vit, Thorns) kind of work for an entry level LoN build?  Or am I better off not swapping to LoN until I have a lot of the BiS pieces as Ancient items (even if not ideally statted, which would obviously take a while)?  I guess I don't know when to make the transition.

Secondly, how to go about farming up these items?  Is it worth repeatedly doing the Legendary reroll for 50 FS on a St. Archew's Gage to try to get it to pop Ancient?  Or just keep spending blood shards on gloves?

I really appreciate the guides and such on Icy Veins, always a great help, so thank you for that.  I'm just looking for some feedback on the above questions mainly regarding when to make the transition to actually playing the game on an LoN build and focusing on it, vs. focusing on improving my Roland's in order to keep farming higher GRifts etc. and then the most efficient way to pick up the Ancients etc. in order to make the LoN build work.

Thanks!

Hey, thank you for the kind words, and welcome!

I'd transition into the build with at least 7 Ancient pieces, ideally more. The Thorns Invoker build (which we also have) might be a better stepping stone into LoN, as they share some items and also aim for Thorns rolls across the board. The good news is, you can get away with a lot of temporary Ancient pieces, as long as you have the following mandatory item effects in place:

Aquila Cuirass

Belt of the Trove

Leoric's Crown

Illusory Boots

The recommendations for your remaining item slots (shoulders, wrists, gloves, pants, amulet, weapon and offhand) will greatly enhance the build, but not break its performance, especially earlier on or in lower difficulties. The core four items above, the set rings and the correct items in the cube, along with appropriately high CDR (as outlined in the guide) define the LoN Bombardier.

I would strongly advise you to only gamble and use the upgrade rare recipe for this build, and limit the expensive legendary reforge recipe for hard-to-roll items like a good Aquila Cuirass, Leoric's Crown, your weapon of choice and the Lidless Wall.

Hey Deadset,

Your invokers build has worked well for me (on GR73 solo), and I just got one legendary LON ring. However, I've yet to find a Lidless Wall Gage, Hellfire, or Hexing Pants. My best weapon is Swiftmount. I have reasonable legendaries for all slots apart from the other LON ring.

I'm wondering what alternative to use for shield- Arrat's Awakening like in the Invoker build? But then I'd have to sacrifice another bonus to get the 30% block bonus? Is one of the others better (Shield Glare one?). There's also less shield synergy with Punish, so...

I guess I should just try various combinations.

Rom

I have a comment about Belt of Trove proc'ing with COE's physical:

When I first started equipping my LON crusader, I was chasing after the 6 sec cool down version of the BoT, but one night recently, I had an epiphany. since the 4 damage cycles are each 4 secs, and since 4 is a multiple of 8, why not equip a BoT with an 8 sec cool down and time my entry from a non combat part of the game (such as from town via a portal) so that when I enter, I do so when the physical cycle of the belt has just began. That would start the 8 second count down on the belt proc and 16 secs later when physical came around again, the belt proc was in synch for the remainder of that level and only broke synch if I died or left that instance/level. And you know what? It worked perfectly, so even with my slightly lower CD-R of about 58 that I rely on for manually timely my bombardment attacks, the belt bombardments always hit when my COE was on physical. My ironskin always refreshes in less than 16 seconds so I always have it ready to boost any of my bombardment attacks, whether they be manual or from the belt, and in 3 out of every four complete cycles through my COE, I am getting double bombardments because my belt proc is synched with the ring (actually twice that with mortal drama in my cube).

I am just wondering if anyone else has done this because I have never read any post in any threads mentioning this trick of synching an 8 sec cool down belt of trove with your COE's physical cycle.  Feed back and comments please :)

This is the best thing to do, honestly. Find what works for you until you have the right pieces.

I forgot to mention that just taking the time to pop a portal at the beginning of a GR and synching my BoT with my COE cycles, I pushed past my previous best GR of 76 and have almost completed a GR 79 (missed by a few seconds) with absolutely no other changes to skills or equipment. Please let me know how you get on with this yourself. ??

It seems to work well, but it didn't push me any higher than I previously hit. It seems fishing for rifts is still endlessly more important than using the ring sync :(

Regarding Belt of the Trove:

This has been discussed over on reddit. The bombs from the Belt are not guaranteed to sync up with your physical rotation. However, they CAN be synced by potion usage. If you use an 8s belt and pot right before holy or physical, all bombs will land during physical and snapshot to your buffs when you cast manual bombs as usual (assuming you are using best practice and popping your buffs a second before physical).

Since Season 6, the bombs from the Trove belt are identical to your manually cast bombs, in that they proc area damage and Bane of the Stricken (this was changed from S5). As a result, the Belt you choose has a significant impact on your overall damage. If you do as prescribed, an 8s belt is about an 18% total bomb damage increase over the next best belt which is 6s. This technique requires discipline to not use your potion when you might need it, however it can boost you about an entire GR tier if mastered.

Not sure when this was last updated, but you list CDR break point at 61% so that bombardment comes up with your CoE physical cycle, but somewhere I read that around 65% you allow your Akarat's Champion to be useable with almost every physical cycle as well, boosting your damage by around 18%.

Hey, this is indeed the case and I have pushed an update to include the 65% CDR endgame goal as a tip in the guide. Thanks for the reminder. :)

I have a well equiped Sader with 1067 Paragon...I'm having a hard time pushing GR 75...Although Bombardment usually flatten everything it seems they just fall and fall on Elites at these higher GR's...I just run out of time.

Base Damage is 500,000ish, everything ancient and modified quite well?

Any thoughts!

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:

Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.

Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
