Inna Exploding Palm Monk

Recommended Posts

Hi..quick question.

What happen when in group play, (which i had reach Gr85 as per guide)..consists Zmonk that is also using Cyclone Strike? What change do i need to alter as DPS monk? Knowing that..it will be a clash of Cyclone with each other..HAHAHHA.

Please advise.

Guest question

For the EP variant:

Why not use Mythic Rhythm instead of Seize the Initiative? The EPs don't benefit from attack speed.

What are your thoughts on Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac instead of Unity? ORotZ could make Epiphany permanent.

What about having Gogok of Swiftness instead of Esoteric Alteration?

Inner Sanctuary could work with a damage buff rune.

It allows for faster generators to give more Cyclone uses.

Unity is a better defensive reduction than Epiphany.

This is outdated since I'm late answering, but EA is better against some rifts, Gogok vs. others. It depends on what you are facing, unfortunately. You can take either, but EA is more likely to be reliable.

Question about the use of Taz'Arrasq Kanai skill for the "GR Solo Mystic Allies" build.

This build doesn't appear to use Exploding Palm, so why slot this skill?  Would it be better to use The Furnace or Mad Monarch since the use of Taz implies the build is gearing for damage using this skill slot.

Other options could include, if we're not looking for damage, In-Geom or Jaw Breaker.

I agree with you (although I suspect you really mean Gungdo Gear as it's the EP item). I also think it used to be Pain Enhancer and Enforcer with Bane of the Trapped - not sure why the change, and also the same with Flying Dragon and Spirit Guards. As these are all the same as the EP build, I suspect this is an accidental oversight? What are the GR tier levels? I'm currently doing GR80ish... but this build is now for 'Low tier'...

There are two separate builds, one for use with EP, one for use with Mystic Allies. The playstyle is different. This is currently low tier because, in comparison, top tier builds are already clearing GR100+ smoothly. This build will likely max out at 90-95 with excellent gear.

Inna's Mystic Ally/PET/Wave of Light Build   (for GR Solo, Group, or T13 runs):
Brandon Henderson (Original): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5obfQ_UYec
Rhykker (updated/tweaked): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AABtazkS2Co

I was able to comfortably do a GR 75 Solo, (in S15/@Paragon 500), in under 10 minutes, with only a few Ancient Items/Gear, based around Rhykker's build above.
The only change I made was swapping out "Seize The Initiative" passive, for the "Unity" passive.
The "Unity" passive, because of the Inna's PETs, added a constant flat dmg buff to Players/Pets/Followers, but more importantly, to Yourself, -and hence, to your Wave of Light dmg dealing.

Therefore, in a public Group mode, the "Unity" passive will obviously be good for all players too, including yourself, similar to the way the "Unity" passive works for the "Top Tier" Inna's Support Build here.

imho, This Inna's Mystic Ally/PET/WoL Build is just as competent as any of the other Monk "Mid Tier" (GR Solo) builds here,
with the additional benefit of also being a very good/welcome semi-support Monk, when playing in a public Group mode.

Min Requirements:
+Max Spirit
+40% (CDR) Cooldown Reduction (mainly for Epiphany and Mystic Ally uptime)
+33.5% (CHC) CritHitChance
+400% (CHD) CritHitDamage
+80% Area Dmg.

Leg Gems:
-Bane of the Stricken
-Bane of the Trapped
-Esoteric Alteration
-(Alt to Esoteric ); Zei's Stone of Vengeance (although with more dmg per distance, you're also more of a glass cannon).

Notes:
-You can completely ignore (IAS) Increased Attack Speed %'s here. It's not as important as the above is.
->(If using Esoteric Alteration gem); Try to roll Physical Resistance on any items that you can.<-

Minor Caveat:
-it seems, whenever Epiphany is still up, the Mystic Ally skill, (when on Left-Mouse click),  trigger's whenever I Dashing Strike into an active Door, or monster, ... ??? -maybe this is a potential "bug", or combo issue. ?

Summarily:
This tough and dmg-dealing build finally lends credence to the previously (still-underpowered) Inna's Mystic Ally/PET Build, while taking advantage of Inna's PET's abilities..

Cheers.

Regarding the "Unity" passive in this hybrid Build;
According to this:
https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/support-monk-skills-and-runes
-the Unity passive does include a DMG% buff increase to your group mode players and pet/allies/followers, of +5% DMG increase. (see link below).

and according to this:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20744204287#post-11
-However, on this hybrid build the flat DMG% increase, for myself, was +14.286%, (with 10 Pets, and with or without Follower), and not the 20% max DMG increase.?

Needless to say, this is still very good, and in this case, the greater flat out DMG buff of the "Unity" passive is better than the "Seize The Initiative" passive, depending on your playability, dmg needs, max spirit/spirit regen.

If anyone has some better math regarding the "Unity" passive mechanics here?, it would be welcome.

Anyway, here's my Inna's/Pet/WoL solo/semi-support build:  MKniner (Season 15)

https://us.diablo3.com/en/profile/bAdRnG-11538/hero/104395750

Thanks.

Although the above (2 posts) are for the present Season 15 build,

it's hard not to mention the potential variant of this build for the upcoming Season 16, (depending if these PTR 2.6.4 patches hold out ?).  ?

Inna's Mystic Ally/PET/Wave of Light Build (buffs for Season 16);
-> RoRG will not be required anymore, (which opens up the use of Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac, -for increased cooldown).
-> Your DMG% increase, for each Mystic Ally that you have out, is increased from 150%, to 1500% !

Actually, according to below, sadly, it seems to be nerfed down to 750% now,  ? for the upcoming Season 16.

Alas, Inna's (Pet) Builds seems to be continually doomed to nerfdom. it was too good to be true. <-

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.
      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
