I want to come back!

Recommended Posts

Hello guys. So I am new to this forum and wanted to reach out to you with some questions.

You see, the thing is I was obsessed of wow a couple of years ago, but I quit. Now I want to get back to playing because I have enough spare time and I simply miss the game.

I want to ask you, which race is the best now? I used to love orc hunter.

Which race is best? Depends - If you're looking into playing in PvE content (as a horde - I'm just assuming by your orc hunter reference) then generally, choosing between an orc or troll will provide you with the greatest DPS increase through their racials - Blood Fury and Berserking, respectively. As a tank - Tauren's have an increased stamina pool and an AoE stun, and the Blood Elves' AoE silence can be fairly useful in all aspects of gameplay. In PvP, the goblin's jump racial is useful in situations (as it is in PvE as well), the Undead's Will of the Forsaken can almost replace a trinket (It doesn't, but while gearing up you don't really have to bother with getting a trinket for BG's). Panda's get Bouncy - helping you not die to those darn shamans blowing you off of edges - and Epicurean, which is great for self-buffed food advantages.

However, I do not recommend in any way shape or form, choosing how you begin to play by the "best" race or class. Choose a class that fits your style of gameplay (generally trying each class up to around level 50 will give you a good enough indication of how it will be played long term). The more you like the class, the more you will excel - regardless of how "OP bro" the class is.

Again: Don't fall into the trap of picking the most "overpowered" class. If you hate the class/race - then you wont keep playing, and you'll be plagued by constant re-rolls of what is considered "the best". Simply put - "the best" is the player, not the class.

My recommendation, pick a class - if you liked a hunter before, I'd say that's a good way to start off, but don't limit yourself to it - and then pick a race accordingly. Play what's fun for you, and you'll want to learn more and excel at that class.

The race choice wouldn't make any difference if you are not raiding on Bleeding Edge. Otherwise just pick whatever you like and remember that races abilities will be revamped in Legion, so it may change anyways. :)
