Just hilarious to see a parse where Aff does 350k to Megaera while 2nd place does 150k. Some are saying it's not a "bug" but I can't really see how this is an intended effect of snapshotting.

It isn't a bug..plain and simple.

It's just an unintended effect of blizzard's stupidity. Festering strike and soul swap are the only two abilities in the game that extend dots without resnapshotting, aside from boomkin/shadow passives that don't really count as they've been capped. There isn't a reasoning behind it they've given, it makes no logical sense, but if they declare it a bug, all that means is they're trying to cover their asses.

It will be nerfed, more likely sooner than later. As soon as blizzard catches wind, and they probably already have, of heroic kills using 3 affliction locks on dark animus to make the fight a complete and utter joke, they will nerf it.

I'm reffering to the fact that Zagam at least, plays demo with full reforge into haste, as far as I've read right :P

I wonder if you shouldn't push that untill you hit a certain ilvl, or if it's safe to do whenever. I.e. I'm 504, would it be a gain for me to go for a full haste reforge if I change to demo? (destro atm)

I actually sang this on Council the other day on skype with a friend everytime I got good procs, he was not impressed :)). Well except I didn't have a large imp party uvls hasn't dropped for me yet :( so instead of the "imp dance party bit" I sang "soulfire and toc party" :).

Until you can push the 14k breakpoints, there isn't a reason to push haste past 8100. Which, I am currently sitting at, as the highest haste I can reach even if I switch to gemming is, is 12.8k.

Don't follow my gemming. I'm mostly suggesting heavy Haste because that's what a majority of the players are doing because they take a Demo/Aff combination. My combination is Demo/Destro, but I only play Destruction on Heroic Primordius. My group is too solid for me to worry about it on Horridon, and I do 250k+ on Heroic Horridon as Demo anyways, so it's fine. My reasoning behind my reforging now (9500 Haste/8500 Mastery) is because at my ilvl of 527, I'm finding that with Bloodlust and Tempus Repit, Soulfire was too fast of a cast with a full Haste reforge. Even with just Tempus Repit, it was down to a 1.2 sec cast which was helping me shred my Demonic Fury. I opted for more damage per cast than faster casts. This carries over into Destruction...with 12000 Haste and Backdraft and Tempus Repit, I think I saw a 0.5 sec Incinerate cast. I dropped 2500 Haste for Mastery and saw a 75k DPS increase on H Primordius, so that was promising.

Until you start banging out some 520+ gear, I'd stick with what you're most comfortable with. As mentioned in previous posts, just avoid Crit.

Tbh I think its just best to get to a breakpoint and then stack mastery on any ilev. If your spamming soulfire at a 1.5 sec cast then haste really isnt going to do much more for you xD Not to mention you have to avoid waiting for GCDs when you have hero up as well. Happends a lot with destru and backdraft.

Don't you still get a nice benefit for RPPM trinkets with haste? I'm sitting on a 522 ilvl with the LFR UVoLS, but I fear that if I drop my haste down I'll lose the already stingy proc rates I have going.

Just put the formula in the trinket section so you can see the difference as you adjust Haste. For example, for you specifically at 25.07% Haste,

502 Unerring = 0.525 * 1+Haste * ilvl proc rate

502 Unerring = 0.525 * 1+(25.07*1.05) * 0.7849

502 Unerring = 0.525 * 1.313235 * 0.7849 = 0.54115 PPM which equates to an average of 1 proc every 110.87 seconds.

Lets say you drop your Haste 10%. New PPM is as follows:

502 Unerring = 0.525 * 1(15.07*1.05) * 0.7849

502 Unerring = 0.525 * 1.208235 * 0.7849 = 0.49788 PPM which equates to an average of 1 proc every 120.51 seconds.

Now remember, this is all random, but this is the best math estimation you can use. I really hope you grab yourself a normal version of it, or even thunderforged! Here's what it looks like with each of those at your current Haste...

522 Unerring = 0.525 * 1.313235 * 0.9456 = 0.6519 PPM = 92.03 seconds between procs

528 Unerring = 0.525 * 1.313235 * 1.0000 = 0.6894 PPM = 87.03 seconds between procs

When 5.3 comes, upgrading your trinket twice for 500 Valor points will decrease the average time between procs by about 4 seconds. Pretty solid.

To kinda follow up with my justification in dropping some Haste, I think I dropped 5% to pick up 6% Mastery as Demonology. This reduced the proc rate on Unerring and Breath by an average of 5 seconds per interval. The way I justified this was to say over the long haul, that would be one missed proc if a fight lasted 12 minutes and the trinket proc'd with its expected interval each time. This closely correlates to a lost proc half of the time during a 6 minute fight which I'm ok with to permanently do 6% more damage, have my pets do 6% more damage, and do 18% more damage in Metamorphosis. Just my own justification.

Blizzard released the formulas for figuring all this crap out. I just load it into Excel, crank out variables, and post it for others to use.

As for your proc rate question, this is impossible to answer. What I've calculated are the average values over many pulls or iterations. This makes it impossible to solve for a particular set of procs in one fight. Tis the essence of RNG. You could raid with 15% Haste and get 6 procs in 6 minutes. The next attempt, you could raid at 35% Haste and get 5 procs in 6 minutes. However, if you do 100 fights with 15% Haste, you'll likely get 3 procs on average in a 6 minute fight while at 35% Haste and 100 attempts, you'll likely see 4 on average. You can't control individual pushes. That's why on World of Logs, you're never going to see close results. Someone is going to have the right thing proc at the right time and blow everyone out of the water.

In my opener, im normally just poping all CDs at the start which is working fine for me, however recently I was thinking, what if you delay imp swarm at the start so you can get some normal wild imps first? Im not sure exactly how this would work as I havnt thought much into it, but if someone else is doing this if they could go over exactly how that would be great.

I put all my information into simulcraft and this is what I got for my reforging priorities. Despite what's said here, it's telling me to reforge crit. I used the patchwerk style fight figuring that with talents everything is basically considered no movement if you can cast on the run. Not sure if I ran something wrong or if it's just for my gearing level this would be best. I put a log of the results behind the cut. Any input is appreciated.

I also just checked it on the target dummy. With reforging for mastery>haste>crit and using grim: service and imps I was doing about 60k on the target dummy. I reforged based on the stat values from simcraft, swapped to grim: sup and demon training instead of imps. I saw almost a 15k dps increase on the target dummy. Only things I had macro'd were dark soul with lifeblood for the second attempt. First attempt I had macro'd dark soul, lifeblood and felguard in one and i'd hit imps manually. I'm sure part of it is human error, but I can't imagine I'd have that big of a difference.

Ah ok, I see now. It seems the best thing to do it get one imp from normal wild imps and then pop imp swarm. Kind of simple really. Then ofc because imp swarm will come off CD before DS you will get at least 1 more imp from wild imps before you pop imp swarm each time. However, now im wondering, if there is a way to track the CD of wild imps (eg needtoknow) then maybe you can see if its worth delaying for another imp.

Oh also, another thing with this is, if your HoG is far away from getting to its 2nd charge and your CDs are up, I would just delay even more for an extra imp or until HoG is ready. I hope this makes sense, its 2AM and im tired xD

Zagam, let's say all of your CD's basically just came back up and you press them all. So you're sitting in Meta form with your imps and extra demon chugging along and 19 seconds left on your Dark Soul when your Perfect Aim decides to proc. So you refresh your Doom (single-target, let's say we're on Durumu) to max duration and slap a ToC for crit Corruptions. Now, you've got about 14'ish seconds left on your Dark Soul and only 2 Molten Core procs.

What's more important: Keeping Corruption with its crit status for the entire duration, effectly using up whatever Molten Core procs you have and going into caster form for the rest of the duration, *or* pumping out out more ToC's because you've got buffs rolling and screw that Corruption spell?

I generally don't keep %100 crit Corruption up if I have to use Touch of Chaos. I use Everlasting Affliction glyph as default and Corruption deals low damage and I use it as a Demonic Fury generator so I don't care how much damage it deals.

Yeah and the bullshit where even with the EA glyph, Corr only goes to 27 seconds when refreshing via ToC. It should be up to 40 sec like if you apply it via the spell. Corruption hits for like 6k with the glyph and its nerf-gutting. I find maintaining the opening very difficult to do with Grim of Sac because you miss out on the Felguard's generation.

1. ToC is capped for EA at the original 150% of the dots duration, not 150% of the 50% increased duration

2. Unless you're IN meta already when it procs, the order goes: stopcasting -> corruption -> hog/meta -> doom -> soulfire (if cast time is less than duration of buff)

You setup a very specific situation where it procs during full cds, but I'm assuming you mean outside of opener. So...

Corruption uptime isn't as important. The snapshot on its damage will not net as much as the totality of your cds increase the damage of a single ToC.

( 13120 - 7167.2 ) * ~20 = 119056 damage increase from a standard corruption, if you snapshot.

Also, HoG will net a larger dps increase than corruption during perfect aim, assuming you drop it in time so the buff is up when it actually impacts.

ToC is more tricky to napkin maths, but lets just say the only cd is DS and you get + 30% mastery, two ToC casts outweigh the entirety of the corruption 100% snapshot.

So, just to be sure, don't worry about corruption most of the time and just use ToC most of the time? Also, I have always been wondering, I know ToC dosnt add the bonus damage from meta, but does it add trinket procs?

To not "worry" about Corruption sounds weary. You don't just look at the damage component of Corruption. It also generates Demonic Fury. What we're saying is focusing on getting the Corruption to hit for all criticals with a Perfect Aim proc isn't going to be your best spent time. What I try to do with a Perfect Aim proc is dependent on how much time Doom has. If it's under 30 seconds, I apply it twice. Otherwise, I'll drop Hand of Guldan, Meta, Doom, ToC, ToC, cancel Meta. What I aim to do is make sure the last ToC I use is while Perfect Aim is up to give me Corruption crits while I build fury up for my next push.

Arthas Did Nothing Wrong (ADNW) has just begun recruiting (For WotLK Classic) hard-core, casual, rp, pvp, pve, raiders, anything you can think of, you are welcomed here. Although our main focus in ADNW will be progressive raiding, 10 and 25 man and pvp content, we look to have someone for just about anything. Currently we are recruiting for our CORE 10M team composed entirely of irl / internet homies. We are in need of just 1 HEALER (Highly prefer a disc priest with a shadow off spec) and another DPS. Preferably lock or Shadow priest. We are looking to fill our B 10m team entirely, so we can pool together for 25 man’s when it comes time to crush 25m. This guild was founded by a group of tight nit friends recently, who have been around since TBC. WOTLK was our turning point in WoW, and we CANNOT wait to get another crack at this and MAKE IT RIGHT.
