Interesting variation on the build. I tried it out, does rather well. The lack of leeching zdogs, does require a lot more moving around to avoid being in bad spots. zdogs more survivability, but less damage then this new variation.

How much damage do you lose if you got Taskers over Jeram? I can't even imagine not running ZDogs over Piranhado for sustain, so it would help with that, and I also really miss the high attack speed on my pets.

Also, what happened to Endless Walk vs Convention of Elements + Hellfire Amulet? Last guide said (correctly) that not moving is really hard on this build, but now it's not even an alternative.

hot fix put in, Ring of Emptiness now DOES NOT apply to the damage of your pets. changes the build back i think, without haunt.

Realy nice guide that served me verry well so far, just one quick question: Without any direct source of dmg and no way of giving commands to my pets how are we supposed to crush doors in a grift (where we cant quickly change skills) without wasting the piranhas?

Doors are this build's biggest enemy. There are no workarounds sadly, you need to waste cooldowns to break them down. :/

I see on the weapon that it prioritizes area damage over %damage.  Is this a mistake or is area damage even more important than %damage here?

If you got no furnace, what would you say is the best alternative for cube? I'm thinking...

For Defense: Uhkapian SerpentUhkapian Serpent

For Utility (like when farming with the manajuma/Boon of the hoarder etc. setup) : Thing of the DeepThing of the Deep

Dunno what would be the best option though if I wanted more damage. HomunculusHomunculus

...could be viable for speed farming too I guess if you feel like replacing zombie dogs with something else like sacrafice.

Thoughts?

Wall of death, will bust doors as well. Remember wall of death does damage along its perimeter. If it's a rift with doors, I try to space out the wall of death and piranhas so I don't get stuck waiting at the door. Doesn't always work though, I've missed finishing a few gr in time cause of the delay.

I do seem to get some cooldown from at least one piece of gear each season it seems. Usually the helltooth shoulders or the offhand, hard getting those 2 with the right rolls.

So despite the RoE nerf, this build is still the best DPS for WD? I still see WD in the top of the ladder will this end with this nerf or not? I changed from Cruz to WD as a main and don't have a lot of time to spend doing multiple characters. Thanks for your help!

I found a work around for me but I would like your opinion on its efficency :
I switched out the hellhounds for haunt with leech and took homunculus as mojo. You loose that first hit survivability but the playstyle feels overall more active and the ability to actualy smash doors gave me a big increase in grift speed.

This is going to make me sound new but I have never played WD, my gf and I are playing together and we both made this same build since she wanted to follow me for the sake of simplicity, do wall of deaths and necrosis debuffs stack? Or are we doing ourselves a disservice by going the same class/build? Thanks

hey mate. Thank you for the built again!

Would it be better to have LOH instead of VIT on the bracers? since we're using leeching beasts? or still VIT is better?

To get a furnace easily, use a witch doc and forge a bunch of 2 handed rare maces at the blacksmith. Then upgrade them to legendaries  in the cube. Wd's have the least number of 2 handed maces than any other class, so your odds are better. This season I went 1/6 and last season I went 3 for 20.

Forum Newbie...

Great WD build!

I'm middling in S7 Champion - pp 437. Playing with the Speed Farm. Using Ancient Kymbo's Gold Amulet -- not sure how this will play out in T10+ just yet. But I feel safer for now, but will probably get on with a Hellfire Amulet after a good roll.

Thank you Deadset!

There's a mistake in the guide.  You're supposed to wear either the Mask of Jeram or the Tasker and Theo gloves, whichever is rolled better, and then use the other one in the Cube.  When you do this, you only end up wearing five pieces of the Helltooth set.  It says this in the text, but does not show it in the equipment lists.

How about using Grasp of the Dead/Unbreakable Grasp with Wilken's Reach as mojo instead of Piranhas?

Sorry, I am very new. When I play, for my active skills, I can only have Wall of Death or Piranhas, Spirit Walk or Zombie Dogs, etc. Is there something I am missing?

I firstly  want to say . Thank you for the WD Helltooth Pet build. Im new to WD and it seems to been quite strong. I play on the PS4 so it is harder as I have no real way to Target an enemy ( no cursor ) to aid me. I think this is one reason I can never clear as high GR as the players of PC version . There may be other factors as well like perhaps the mathematics for Greater Rift toughness of the monsters are easer on the PC ? Or maybe I suck lol. But the PS4 seems to be harder to play as all my gear and is optimized yet PC leader board clears are always higher. Any feedback on this Quarry would be appreciated .As I have post this question on many forums and never get an educated answer .

As for question about assigning skills. On( PS4 ) not sure about PC/Mac but it should be the same.

Start game. From the Main Menu select ( options) . Then ( gameplay ). The first option should be (Elective Mode ) Check that box/ Enable the assigning of any skill to any button . That is how to solve your issue. Peace

You will be losing a lot of mitigation unfortunately, as both recommendations (Henri's Perquisition and Uhkapian Serpent) offer a lot of upfront protection.

As the user above me pointed out, enable Elective Mode under Gameplay Options! This allows you to assign any skill to (mostly) any key, including multiple skills from the same skill tree.

Hm, the PS4 version should be kept up to date with the PC version in terms of monster balancing / GR difficulty and so on. Is there a chance you might be missing something? Maybe a significant difference between your Paragon levels and those of the top leaderboard WDs? Could you maybe be missing Caldesann enchants from gear?

No . I use optimized gear  all ancient all builds with level 100+ Legendary Gems in amulet and rings . Caldesann all 13 gear I wear. I notice when I watch YouTube  Diablo video's there all for the most part PC player. The monster density is noticeably more. And the cursor targeting  on PC is very accurate as opposed to the PS4 version. I don't know. There is a mathematical difference beyond my understanding between the two versions. None of my legit PS4 friends who are good players can do Greater Rifts as high as the PC players . Something is different ??? But thank you for your awesome build guilds and responding to my question . I just wish I could figure what the difference between the two versions is. And who nI may ask to find out an answer . Regards , Rob Knapp

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards

Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
