vaguely 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2016 HFC is 1st time I've raided as a hunter and I've new to raiding in general. I'm a MM with Lone Wolf. I just started PUGing Mythic with a guild of 15 and there are 2 other MM hunters in guild. I know zero other Hunter's and I'm worried about getting kicked if I'm not understanding basic MM information, so don't want to ask them. I'm looking at recount and the amount of Chimera Shots they are getting is way more than mine. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I use Weak Aura's and even have a sound DING when it's up so I can use it as close to the 9 sec CD as I can. The below was on a very quick wipe on Mythic Iron Reaver just to show what I'm talking about. The fight lasted 74 seconds, so by my math, that is 8 Chimera Shots possible? As you can see, the other two MM's doubled my amount of Chimera shots. How is this? What am I not understanding and what can I do to fix this? #1 MM Hit 10 Crit 7 Multi Crit 7 Multi 4 #2 MM Hit 11 Crit 6 Multi Crit 4 Multi 4 #3 This is Me Hit 5 Crit 5 Multi Crit 3 Multi
Orthios 271 Report post Posted February 12, 2016 First off, Recount isn't always the most accurate dps meter. I suggest you switch to either Skada or Details. Second, give me some logs. This will allow me to go through and see what's really going on.
Vegelus 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2016 Number of Chim shots includes cleaves it does. As tooltip says: "A two-headed shot that hits your primary target and another nearby target, dealing 660% Nature or Frost damage to each target." So you have to work on your positioning and make sure you have some secondary mob near your targeted one as often as possible.
Troels 9 Report post Posted February 16, 2016 What Vegelus said matters a lot, problem with chimera shot is that the cleave is extremely small, sometimes they have to basically hug eachother to make the cleave. Depends on the mobs hit box tho, like gorefiend has a really big one, so chimera shotting an add nearby him almost always cleaves him, as an example

I was gonna say "Mobs almost have to be stacked on top of each other for CS to cleave... unless it's Gorefiend where an add halfway to the ledge will get hit". ;)
IanScott 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2016 So I have a question for MM like right now buffed with my crit I have 45.66 so which scope am I needing to use as well I have a mythic cloak with haste and mastery on it and wondering if I need to down grade to my heroic one with crit and multi trying to figure out what I need to do
Vegelus 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2016 It seems that 46.2% passive buffed crit is point when Oglethorpe's scope begins to get slightly better with clear breakpoint being at around 48% passive buffed crit.
Troels 9 Report post Posted March 25, 2016 48% buffed crit = crit scope 53% buffed crit = multistrike scope Since carefull aim gives + 50% crit, and the bosses have the "crit penalty" or what it's called, of 3%. So if you have 53% crit you'll have 100% crit when careful aim is active. And if you have 48% crit, you'll get that extra 5% when the scope procs. At roughly 48% crit (buffed), you want to switch to the MS scope. The reason being is that the scope proc gives 750 crit, which is nearly 7% (6.818181 repeating), where you start to "waste" more of the proc whenever Rapid Fire or Careful Aim is up.
