Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Personally, I'm looking forward to riding Malfurion. If I can't have Illidan, his brother will do just fine!
What I have enjoyed however is the ever-growing history and fan base for WoW and the upcoming patch - always fun to see the interesting discussions that come about.

Everything I've seen from Alpha so far looks so sleek and sophisticated. I'm so excited to try the new content, and it's kind of refreshing to see such drastic changes going on, especially if you've played for years like I have. It keeps the game interesting.

I'm REALLY excited to play around with the new transmogrification system! It's already great but... costumes! :3

Oh boy, where do I start. I play wow for all the aspects of the game. I raid, pvp and enjoy doing other content such as dailies and questing, sometimes grinding to some extent. I've read everything i can so far about Legion and Overall I'm very excited to play, WoD has been killing me.

For PvE content,  Leveling my Artifact sounds like it'll be a lot of fun, I hope it's not TOO grindy but I can take it. I think that Artifacts are going to be really interesting (And it'll be great to not have to fight over weapons.) It seems like they're really gonna make classes more interesting, while right now it seems that classes are really lacking and dull. I would know, I have almost everything maxed and decently geared except for a shaman. It seems like blizzard is really trying to make the game fun again, because lets face it, WoD is definitely missing out on some fun. I'd kill to see a 10man version of mythic because 20 is a little rough sometimes. I also raid on every single one of my toons, I main a frost dk atm. Really miss my holy pally but it's so damn boring now that I even switched to prot/ret instead of holy/ret, but I digress.
I would really like to see a return of gem slots, I really dislike that they kind of just took them away, As someone who raids constantly I've only had like 20 pieces of gear that has gem slots on them. (excluding lfr garbage.)

For PvP content. For all of MoP I pvped daily, like 300 arenas a day kinda thing. Loved it, had a lot of fun, classes were interesting, versatile and for the most part balanced. (at least better than they are now.) I'm really liking what they're doing with the prestige system for battlegrounds. It's definitely needed a revamp for a really long time and I'm glad they're going that way with it. I'm also liking that they're introducing pvp specific talents that they had previously removed from the game. The one thing I REALLY wish blizzard would do though, is completely remove the human racial. If you look at rankings right now in 2s, 3s, and 5s all the best players are Humans. And I mean it. All of them, it's sad. And if that means they need to get rid of the undead racial that breaks fears, go for it.

Lets talk about questing. in MoP i had a lot of fun questing, in WoD I was very disappointed. The lack of even end game questing qas kind of sad, and I actually miss having a bunch of different dailies instead of just a very small select few. I also absolutely do not think we should have to grind currency like apexis ever again. That was hell. Tanaan was one of the worst things I have ever experienced. The zones themselves were beautiful. Except for Frostfire, (But I generally don't like frozen wastelands myself.) I will admit I feel cheated as a horde player, My garrison was a shabby rundown hut compared to allianced miniature town that looked astonishing. Really took out some of the fun because I like things that look appealing.

Transmog! So excited for this new transmog system, All of my bank slots are full on all of my characters and I really don't like using void storage. I'm gonna have almost every piece of plate in the game along with most weapons. I do wish they would add a dying system, but hey one thing at a time right?

Professions are in dire need of a rework, I haven't really been keeping tabs on what they're doing with professions in legion, but I'm hoping they're doing something about it.

Overall, (yes, I know finally almost done.) I really think that Legion will be great, I'm hoping it brings back a lot of players because right now, WoW is feeling a little dead and even as someone who thoroughly enjoys wow, I find it hard to play right now. (even though I had a lot of fun even to the end of mop.) WoD felt half done, It seems like they're really putting their time and effort into Legion though.

Cheers!

Lots of things to be excited about. New Transmog system means empty bags. Survival Hunters going Melee means a new way to play for me. Artifact weapons. A PVP revamp that means I might try out PVP this time. Demo warlocks looking really cool atm.

The only thing that leaves me worried is the current state of BM hunters on the Alpha, as they seem to have so little to do.

Almost all of legion is looking great!! I'm super excited about all the artifact weapons and the class fantasy going on! (Although it makes me want to play every spec and class and makes decisions harder) and all the raids and dungeons look great! I really hope the dungeons are challenging and become a crucial point of gearing up, I hate how I feel forced to do LFR in WoD on alts.

But out of everything definitely the artifact weapons are my favourite!

My name is Icyflamez and I'm a Blood Elf Mage. I've been with World of Warcraft since mid-BC and while it's had its ups and downs I've always stuck with it. My favorite memories in WoW are from Wrath of the Lich King and marching into Icecrown Citadel at the side of my friends and Tirion Fordring to confront Arthas! ICC is still my favorite raid and I go back regularly in hope of one day getting Invincible for myself!

I have high hopes for Legion. Blizzard seems to be putting a lot of effort into this one and we're finally getting the major Legion invasion we've been anticipating all these years! Not only that, some of the major storylines that players have been asking for (such as the Emerald Dream/Nightmare) are making an appearance! The artifact weapons are an interesting idea and will hopefully make for a nice character progression path! The scaling zones, the Diablo style outdoor content and challenge mode dungeons, and the Class Order Halls sound like they could be some fun things to do when not raiding which is what we've been asking for! Overall, I like what I've seen of Legion and I hope it turns out to be as awesome as it's seeming to be!

I would be immensely happy to be given a chance to get into beta to test all this new content and make sure that it's as bug-free as possible for launch!

What I am looking forward too in legion...

  1. The new PvP system, it seems like it's going to be very balanced compared to the current system (finally human isn't the strongest race just because of free trinket.)
  2. The new Transmog system, finally no more banks full of gear and not worrying because I already finished the quest and chose the wrong item.
  3. The Artifacts, MY ROGUE GETS TO HAVE FREAKING RAPIERS, COOL LOOKING DEADLY PIRATE RAPIERS... which goes into my next point.
  4. Outlaw Rogues, OUTLAW. ROGUES. WE GET A FREAKING CANNON BARRAGE. The only thing my rogue needs now is a decent pirate transmog.
  5. The New Animations, I personally want to go to Blizzard and high five every single animator, because these new animations on almost EVERY SINGLE FREAKING ABILITY, is amazing, its beautiful.
  6. DALARAN. ENOUGH SAID.

Conclusion: My Legion experience will most like be me doing a lot of PvP, and while waiting for PvP ill be in Dalaran looking like a freaking awesome pirate spamming abilities because the animations are cool

I really can't wait to try out the new Artifacts and going through each of the quest to know more about the Lore and each of the weapons. The ones I really want to try out are the Frostmourne, Ashbringer, Felo'Melorn and the Demon Hunter ones.

Also, can't wait to see how the new spells working, whether they're more streamlined or they added newer spells. The new artifact system is really cool. I really wanna see how they work and what kind of combos you can get.

PvP is something I'd like to explore, I've never been a huge PvPer since I'm never any good at it but with the new PvP talent system, that's definitely something I want to dabble into.

Im so totally looking forward to the new honor system being implemented in Legion. As an avid PvPer the grind that this entails is the sort of thing (and many others) have desperately been looking for and needing. Also who does not love sweet transmogs to showcase your hours of dedication!?Its amazing to see how far WoW has come and the amazing community it has!

Being one who is forever a lore geek, this is just more reasons for me to love WoW. I have loved learning about Illidan and Malfurion, how the twins ended up as enemies. Now, Illidan is coming back? What will it be like? Will he be evil along with Guldan's bunch? Or will he be a new evil all on his own. And will this bring Malfurion and Tyrande back out into the forefront of game play? Ok there's supposed to be a druid island...will Malfurion be over it? See? I'm ready to go all fangirl on the characters. And there's been whispers that perhaps we might finally see the reappearance of Turalyon and Alleria. I've often been excited at the new storylines, but this one is particularly exciting to think about.

I'm extremely excited for Legion and what it holds in the class guides updates. After I figure out what I'm going to play, I'll live on the UI forum for a few weeks.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
