Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I started playing in BC, where I had literally no idea what was going on. It was me and my destruction warlock against all sorts of enemies, demons, bandits, ethereals, you name it. As I ploughed my way to a high enough level to start the questline to get the Dreadsteed, I realized it was going to be tough. Having to gather the materials needed was one of the most difficult things I've done in the game to date and when I completed that last quest...I had my very own Dreadsteed and damn it felt awesome! It's a mount that I still use today. Seeing the progression of my characters since BC/Wrath has been great fun and I can't wait to finally fight off the Legion and explore new lands!

The whole thing with class fantasy has got me pretty psyched! Especially that I can summon infernals with rain of fire and a destruction warlock and wield doomhammer with my shaman! It seems like we need all the power we can get to drive the Legion back. The artifacts are one of the things I'm excited for, the ability to gradually strengthen our weapons is what I love about RPGs. Getting new weapons isn't the same, there's a sense of progression with these artifacts.

Also the fact that the honor system has been revamped is a change long overdue, especially having rewards tied to how much effort you put into gaining all the honor (after resetting levels). PvP is absolutely going to be something I'll be spending a lot of time on!

Looking forward to all the artifact quests, plan on doing every single one for all the classes I have, 9 in total. The new t-mog system (I'll finally have inventory space again, woot!!!!!). The pvp system overhaul, and of course the new raids.

In WoD, I enjoyed all the story telling, and cinematics used to convey that story. I also enjoyed all the world interactive items, though I think they did go a bit overboard with them in total. I think it helped make the world more interactive and alive, and tie small things together.

Being part of the Beta would be the greatest gift Ever..

Here's why...

My father and I used to play Warcraft 1, 2, and 3, all the time together. We didn't have that father son relationship so much, but when Warcraft started, we were both ready to fight eachother. Few years later, my ex girlfriend decided to leave, taking my son with him. I haven't seen him in years. So me being depressed, I sat down one day and decided.. " hey. wth, i'll try WoW" From day 3, I was hooked. Not addicted, but hooked, I LOVE this game. the characters you can play to the characters you can interact with, the Music, the graphics, It's the best game I have ever played.

Why i'm excited to play Beta ( should I be accepted)...

I can't WAIT for legion to come out, I have never once gotten my hands on a Artifact weapon, I was always the last on the list to get Tier items in HFC from my guild ( which I have yet to get, because they were ninja'd from me. ) On top of the artifacts are the new areas to search through, I LOVE exploring the game. I get amazing and excited like a kid when I see them. SO to know there is another place I can look around in,, will get my ADHD on fire!. it might take me forever to reach 110 just bc of that haha.  As far as PvP goes, I'm not exactly the PvP friendly guy, but I'd LOVE to see the changes made in it. Every now and then I love to go in there and stop questing, See if I am any good. I Usually die but wth, it's part of the game lol. I can't wait to see the pets, the mounts, the New transmog, the new gear to obtain in leveling, It's pretty much the best thing ever. I played all the expansions and I have to say, this one by far is going to be the best for me. I mean come on.. YOU GET TO BE A DEMON HUNTER, there's nothing cooler than that! so far my favorite would have to be MoP for the Asian theme Areas the 2nd most exciting thing for me is the Class halls. That sounds pretty sweet. I'm going to recommend to all my buds to play wow. and I use Icyveins for every thing I need that is wow. So thanks guys for this amazing website, for 5 amazing years of support and helpful hints as to making me a better player. and See you all in game :)

I'm really excited for Legion, there are a ton of new features to test out and try. One of my favorites, the new transmog system, will really help free up all the much needed bag space. It's also got me playing a lot more now so I can farm gear for the new system. I think it will be an awesome addition to the game.

From the pictures I've seen, the new land looks amazing. Highmountain especially. I can't wait to see them either in beta or on live.

World of Warcraft has always been a huge part of my life. I remember when I first started playing a buddy of mine told me to make a Dwarf pally. I got home, installed the game. And made a Night Elf druid. My friend wanted to level with me and he was already in the dwarf starting area so I walked all the way from the Night Elf starting lands to the Dwarf and gnome one. As a new player I was shocked at how big this land was it must have taken me 2 or 3 hours just to get there because I had to stop and look at everything. I got lost in Stormwind countless times. It seemed so big back then, now I know it like the back of my hand haha. Another great memory while leveling for the first time was being told not to go on that one different boat at the docks because it takes you to a crazy high level area (borren tundra) and of course I went there as a level 30 and started exploring. I died. Many times. But it was fun and the huge iceberg with the penguins made me crack up. World of Warcraft is a great game and deserves to go on for years. This new hearthstone promotion is awesome, I'm seeing so many newcomers and helping them out. Dungeons can be stressful with them but they're learning just like we did when we were noobs haha.

New animations, new playstyles and a hope blizzard will make their quote "back to the roots" come true.

Wod did a lot of bad things to wow in my opinion, so many that im not willing to count them here so we kinda need to look forward.

I just really hope Blizzard moves on in terms of design and character progression but keeps the good things (like questing and story telling) from Wod with legion, so far most things look promising but well.. ofc. i'd like to see myself wink.png

Been playing this game since Vanilla (like a lot of people!) and it has been a big part of my life... as my family can attest.

I'm incredibly excited for the individual spec identity, as I feel like that is something the game has been lacking greatly. I'm actually interested in other classes that never interested me before, like mage and rogue. Fire looks so much fun. I am mainly an ele shaman and I'm even looking forward to the changes for them!

Congratulations on 5 years, Icy-Veins. I look forward to using you as the go-to on all of the new and improved specs and of course, demon hunters.

I'm mostly looking forward to the class revisions! I can't wait to try the cleric-like holy paladin and the pruned-down enhancement shaman. In some ways I'm also dreading this; as I main rogue, some of the changes are a bit disconcerting...but others are exciting. Just gotta wait and see how it pans out. I've been playing since vanilla beta, so there's been plenty of things I've enjoyed in the past, but especially so my rogue since I made him in Cataclysm. Really hoping to continue the tradition in Legion! Except for the sewer...bleck! :)

I'm really looking forward to Demon Hunters! And as a long time raider I can't wait to hopefully test and see the new raids and artifact weapons, it's going to be so exciting.

I do rbgs with my friends and the new pvp system looks really cool, i'll also be very interested in seeing that as well, I'm very hyped for Legion biggrin.png

I'm most excited for the new hero class the Demon Hunter and the introduction of artifact weapons. They'll both add new and interesting elements into the game. The ability pruning is questionable if it allows new players to ease into the game then I'm all for it. The new honor system is actually something that would make me want to do PvP, this coming from someone who dislikes PvP.

Well, there is so much to look forward to in the next installment of World of Warcraft and I'm just simply overloaded with excitement! I've been playing WoW since 2007, right as I got an awesome look at the Burning Legion and the Outlands! Easily, one of my favorite expansions, ever. I'm super excited for Legion because it reminds me so much of Legion. I

First and foremost, I can't wait for the new Artifacts and Demon Hunter class. I've always adored Illidan and his War Glaives were just so beautiful. I'm glad they're finally making this a playable class. Now, for thee Artifact weapons! Not only has Blizzard taken the time to make all the weapons look awesome, but they have a detailed tree and you can alter the appearance of each weapon to best suit your liking-- which is great! Being able to express yourself is a must in a game, well, games that I really like anyways. There's also load of new content, exploring, achievements and pets! I love taking in the new zones. I also wouldn't mind getting my hands on those new Fel Bat mounts!

Throughout my experience in WoW, I've come across many great moments, but I think some of my best moments were in MoP. I love the new Monk class and that's when our guild really started up. We wanted to be a serious progression guild and we were. It was extremely hard to maintain, but we had a really good run. I'll never forget wipping over, and over on Heroic Dark Animus. We so many times people were starting to give up, but then we finally downed him. One of the hardest bosses I have ever done.

So I always look forward to challenges and I hope Blizzard gives us some good ones in Legion! I hope you enjoyed my brief ranting. World of Warcraft has helped me meet many awesome people; people that I met years ago and still enjoy other Blizzard games with today. Thanks for all the awesome work Blizzard, and thank YOU Icy Veins because your site has helped me do my research on many, many classes so that I could do my best all the time!

Sincerely, Omiee

From watching FatbossTV, the new dungeons look like they are going to be amazing. Having an April Fools Joke actually made into a major mechanic of a dungeon is really neat.

Artifacts, these interest me, i'm looking forward to exploring their potential and raising my own

Wardrobe, I'm sold, lets get into the closet!!!  I've been a heavy mog collector for a long time, happily in vanilla collecting all the ZulGurub gear, for no other reason than collecting it, same for ZulAman. Now, we can mog it on easier and with some style....

quick to the closet!

Fondest Memory: Back in Classic my guild (which i'm still in today) and the horde guild were competing for our server first Nefarian kill. To make a long story short, we won by one try, which given that you had to soft reset the instance every so often to get Nefarian to respawn was quite scary.

Skip forward to BC - nearly the same thing would've happened again. Just that after we got the first Illidan kill the Horde guild to not repeat the same story again decided to stop for the night.

Looking forward in Legion: All stuff that's added instead of "raid or die".

I am really excited for legion, I have been a HARDCORE blizzard fan since warcraft, though I only started playing wow since wrath. The game has evolved so much that looking back seems like decades ago. Icy Veins helped me so much for my first character, my Paladin. I can't wait for my very own Ashbringer. The main thing for me though is DEMON HUNTERS and the fact that illidan is back. Can't wait for you guys to help me once again with my characters.

Been playing since wotlk but this is the first expansion I raided, thanks to icyveins I learned so much that I got from normal highmaul to 13/13 mythic as one of the highest ranking people on frostmane. Can't wait to play the changed specs and try to get as high as possible in the challenge dungeons with my friends.

I'm most interested in seeing how Legion's class fantasy manifests itself for each of my characters.  I've read a lot about what other people think, but I'd like to be able to form my own opinion based on actual play.

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to win a chance to do just that!

Thinking back the things i'm looking forward to in legion is that classes will be meaningful to the story through the order halls. Also can't wait to use and abuse the transmog system. I'm curious about the professions and want to learn more about them. Oh yeah and challenge mode dungeons look like they will be fun, although I prefer solo content it would be great for playing with my friends.

I think my most memorable moment was the very first day I played. I did a little reading before hand and decided to make a run for the city of stormwind to look around. Only when I arrived it was over run with... ZOMBIES!!!!! Imagine me, a little noob experiencing a moment of wanderlust, going into a mmo for the first time, coming to the realization that I got caught up in some sort of undead apocalypse... so much death..   -crawls into a corner-

New content, always excited for new content!  The class halls are something that I hope will turn into something cool.  Best wow memory might be our server first ultraxion kill, no name guild put on the big boy pants and pushed hard into a new raid.  WoW has managed to forge several friendships for me that will always be there.

I'm most looking forward to the new areas to explore, especially the new dungeons. Going back to violet hold looks amazing, all while learning and seeing more of Dalaran.

Fondest memories are when i first started the game in BC and exploring every part of the barrens, i loved the barrens it was a beautiful place before that terrible deathwing destroyed it (cries).

Well I really look forward to the Demon hunters and Artifact weapons!

And like many people the nostalgia makes me say 'Wrath of the Lich King' was my favourite time in the history of WoW.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
