Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

After Warlords, I was skeptical about anything Blizzard talked about the next expansion. But after seeing what Legion seems like it's bringing to the table, I'm excited for pretty much all of it. While I'm still cynical about whether they'll include everything that they've promised, the fact that they seem like they're hesitant to talk about things that aren't completely done gives me hope that everything they've announced so far will actually make it into the expansion.

I'm most excited for the artifact weapons. I have been looking to change my main, and while I initially wanted to go Demon Hunter (who didn't), the fact that there are so many interesting artifacts for many of the classes has given me pause. While I'm still tempted by the DH, and it would be the first time I would play a new class in the expansion it is introduced, I'm equally excited about the Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Death Knight, and Hunter artifacts. It's going to take a lot of soul-searching to find out what I will actually have as my main.

Another thing I'm equally excited for is group content. From the Challenge Mode dungeons to the new raids, they're looking top-notch as always. Raid content was the shining star of Warlords amidst the ruin, and it looks like it is continuing in Legion. I'm especially looking forward to going into Suramar Palace, or The Nighthold as Blizzard is calling it now, since it reminds me a bit of Ulduar. Delving into Ulduar's depths is definitely the highlight of my time in this game. The feeling of going into a vast open space at the start at the head of an army of vehicles, to fighting a giant robot who throws temper tantrums, to beating some sense intoTitanic Keepers, to then go ahead and fight against an Old God was just pure bliss. The hard mode options were an awesome addition and Yogg-0 remains one of my most cherished memories. Even to this day, I use the Death's Demise title just because it reminds me of that time. I have a feeling that Suramar Palace has the potential to follow-up as a worthy spiritual successor to Ulduar and I cannot wait to experience it.

I can't wait for re-vamped demonology. Finally being a master summoner, just in time to use demons against the legion. And with a flying demon skull to boot!

I am looking forward to playing a Demon Hunter, I know, big shocker! I also can't wait to check out the class order halls and the artifact weapons. I love that they are introducing the new leveling experience where you can level with friends, zone to zone, and the world scales to your level. It will be awesome to level without limitations so we can still level with friends without having to be stuck waiting or scheduling a time to do so. God knows, I don't level alone! LOL!

I'm really looking forward to the changes coming to disc priests in legion. Sure, the artifacts are cool, but I think having to actually put for some effort in keeping your raid group alive will be a lot of fun, no more just spamming shields!

I can't wait until legion to explore the new and amazing landscapes. Val'Sharah and The Emerald Nightmare raid looks like an epic and glorious place to prove your valor!tongue.png

Also looking forward to rocking up to the first raid and my GM not having a seachart.

Thank you and god bless.happy.png

The thing I'm most looking forward to its the lore. In my opinion the low of the last two or three expansions where mediocre at best. The legion, especially Sargeras, on the other hand is such an interesting topic that it could be exactly what WoW needs right now.

I can't wait to never need to be anywhere near Ashran ever again.

Goodbye introverted garrison time wasting. Goodbye Assran. Goodbye half expansion.

I can't wait to get my hands on the other half.

I am really looking forward to Legion. As a tank player having a new tank class, the Demon Hunter, coming in Legion is very exciting. Almost all the features in Legion excite me and the new PvP system may entice me to play a lot more PvP.

What I'm looking forward to in Legion is the priest changes.  I'm going back to shadow and will keep my disc offspec still.  I really miss reforging though as it was my favorite thing to have in the game because it allowed me to take one stat that may not be my most desirable stat and change it into it.  I wish they would bring that back.

Been playing this game for 11 years, and Legion looks like it'll be keeping me around even longer!  I don't really like saying particular expansions are bad or anything, since each expansion has had something super cool in it for me.  Warlords has dragged on a bit, I'll say, but Legion's announcement and all the changes revealed so far has pulled so many of my friends back into the game!

I'm pretty positive about any change Blizzard makes, but I feel Legion is bringing the most things I agree with out of all of the expansions.  Artifact weapons are sooo cool!  I've spent the majority of 6.2 just struggling to figure out which class and artifact I want to pursue first.  I bounced around from balance druid, to mistweaver monk, to disc priest, before I finally settled on a class that I always keep going back to: Mage.  The main reason for me is the arcane artifact!  Aegwynn was sort of someone I totally wanted to be in game.  I loved her lore, and she is easily my favorite mage in the game.  So hearing about the artifact belonging to her just made me so excited!  It greatly helps that every spec seems like they're only going to become even more fun in Legion, and I can't wait to complete at least two of the artifacts :3.

What is really drawing me into Legion is how it seems they're really taking feedback to heart in the alpha.  It's very possible this was always happening, and I'm sure it has, but I feel I have never seen them more open about their design process and openly accepting any and all suggestions.  One thing in particular that really stood out was their recent decision to give marksmanship their pets back, and beast masters a way to focus on one beast instead.  To me, this is adding even more layers of choice and fun into a class, and it seems like they're trying their best to make sure every class has the same treatment!  I'm super happy they've welcomed testers with open arms :D!

Bar none the most important thing is that my friends all see reasons to come back.  It seems like in legion we'll have so many things to do, and in particular the challenge mode system being much like Diablo rifts have really made us interested!  We typically play in 5 man set ups, and we all spent so much time grinding rifts in Diablo.  The random things that will make it harder will make it so much less tedious too, and every time we do one it'll mostly feel different :D.  I can't wait to see more of that system, the legion dungeons so far look really great thematically!  Something I felt was lacking in WoD: really cool and different dungeons.  They all seem very unique and very fun!

I've tried not to spoil the entire experience for myself, but everything I've seen and have been seeing has just excited me.  Even on things I feel are weird or potentially bad, which admittedly have been few, I've felt confident that Blizzard has known exactly what they need to do and how to do it well.  I greatly look forward to playing this game with all my friends again, just like we did way back when :).  I can't wait!

The most exciting part of this expansion for me, is the introduction of Class Halls. I am a Social-Animal and love in-game banter. During WoD my Garrison became a lonely lonely place, I quite often found myself having full blown conversations with my NPC followers. Yes I could have gone to Ashran and hung out but I do love a social gathering hub e.g MoP Shrines.

Can not wait for my new home, as they say, "Home is where the Hearth is" :)

Sorry bad joke. ;p

Unlike a lot of people, I've actually enjoyed the entirety of Warlords of Draenor (well, except Spires of Arak). I'm REALLY looking forward to questing in Legion, as well as gearing up, etc.

I think the part that I'm most excited for right now? The prepatch. I know, I know.

When EVERYBODY started to make their way to the Blasted Lands to fight the Iron Horde invasion from the Dark Portal, it was absolute chaos. Nobody could get anything done, as everybody had the same objectives, but it was all part of their own personal questlines.

I managed to push my way through and eventually get the title that I am forever proud of: "of the Iron Vanguard".

Was the title worth the delayed objectives and bugs? Almost certainly not.

But with Legion...

Legion, we're all in this together.

Horde...

Alliance...

Those boundaries were stretched with the Pandaren, cracked with the Iron Horde, and now, they're gonna be shattered as we work together to defeat the Burning Legion.

When they invade, Orcs, Humans, and all the other races of Azeroth will be ready to fight back... no, to defeat them once and for all.

FOR AZEROTH!!!

I'm looking forward to getting back to raiding. I haven't raided semi serious since cataclysm. Also  the new spell and attack animations look great and give the game some much needed update.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
