Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

The new PvP talent tree is an improvement overall, although not ideal as well as the new animations in many (but not all) areas being a nice step up. My biggest concern however, is the continuation of ability pruning and the (mostly) controversial class changes.

I'm really excited for pretty much everything, the new dungeons and the new CM looks really fun.
The new class looks pretty nice aswell, so does the artifacts, damn pretty much everything got me hyped so far! Cant wait for legion to drop!

Part of what I'm looking forward to is the content from legion, but really I'm more excited for a return of players. I joined my current guild after a few people decided to call it quits for the expansion, they got burnt out. My current guildies are awesome, and can't wait for more to return soon.

I feel as though WoD suffered from sacrificing content in favour of quality of life (flexible raids! updated models! big big things that don't continue to excite players for long (just look at how normal flexi raids seem to people now))

I can't wait for Legion, because all of these improvements will still be there (and more), but without as much sacrificed development time.

Lore advancements are always a huge draw for me, and Legion's got them aplenty (from small things like putting book characters like Tyrathan Khort in the game world to huge things like unique class story lines, I can't wait).

I don't think WoW will ever stop being WoW, that being some issues that are apparent in WoD (and every previous expansion) will still be present in Legion, but I don't care. I've been a fan since I played a few hours on my friend's account in classic (and was ecstatic when I finally got my own during early TBC). I love this game and I'd be overjoyed to get a chance to take a part in the Legion alpha.

For me I am really looking forward to the "wrongs" being fixed from WoD - Proffessions getting updated, Classes getting fixed and I honestly don't think there is a better time for story and lore. With Chronicles being released and the new film on its way its looking like WoW has just been injected with life again (or will be).

I look forward to playing classes that I liked but never wanted to main due to the changes getting made - for example, Rogues.. always liked them but would never have raided or done anything meaningful on it, the class looks really good and interesting, sure it doesn't have say 20 abilities but it looks fun to me. Druids, again I loved healing on it but that was about it and now in my opinion they look really interesting, all specs! These artefacts are also adding depth to the classes and a bit of customisation.

As memories go? I remember a few years back me and a few friends all took rogues into Arathi Basin and camped the farm! There was 5 of us and the same enemy warlock kept coming down the hill to run to mine and we must have ganked the poor fella about a dozen times lol. Teamspeak was rather funny that evening.

I also remember when I first started tanking and my boomkin friend decided that every pool needed more mobs and would star fall EVERYTHING! He wouldn't even let the mobs hit my DnD first lol.

I can't wait to play Legion... It's without a doubt one of the most excited exciting expansions for me so far with all of the changes. PvP looks like it's had a much needed revamp where classes look to feel unique and I love that!! I cannot wait to play my Rogue and actually feel like a assassin! I've always loved wow but I really do believe that Legion is going to be one of the best expansions! Also I love Icy veins! I've used the website for a long time for advice on certain classes but have never made an account on here... I just want to say thank you and honestly what a great job you guys have done!

I'm looking forward to the class overhauls the most.

I always enjoy new classes, and having pretty much every single class reworked from the ground up is exciting! I haven't been able to pick a class I want to play at all, I'll definitely be trying all of them at this point, since not a single one has been disappointing looking.

In the past I have always rolled new classes when they came out, and I have always enjoyed learning something new. Back when Monk came out I leveled two on the Beta and then immediately leveled one when they went live. That was a great time rushing to be the first on the server.

Legion is looking so good right now. All the new content they are bringing to the game such as the new transmogrification changes and the the overhaul for the honor system, artifact weapons, you name it!

Happy Birthday Icy Veins and thanks for the helpful guides.

Since the current WoW is not really what I call enjoyable I'm definitely looking forward to Legion.

The PvP system seems interesting although I didn't look too much into it. But I definitely will give it a try. After Ashran happened this can only get better.

What definitely will be great is raiding in Emerald Nightmare, which is what I will be focussing on. PvE.

The artifact weapons also look pretty cool and I think it will be a nice feature.
What I hope they will be doing in Legion is timewalking raids. It would be incredibly awesome if we could raid Karazahn and all the other old raids again. Just for fun.

So, the thing i look forward the most are these artifacts. The one i like the most, is Talonclaw, Spear of the Wild Gods(mostly because i main survi hunter at the moment). It would be nice, to have weapon like this, i like it graphics. Other thing i look forward is whole patch, because i would like to play as demon hunter. Finally. I remember these old days, watching illidan and thinking: i would like to play demon hunter. And now, Blizzard has made him at last. I have two years of school now, then i'm going to work, so i have to spend this time somehow, and it seems like WoW Legion is fine place to spend money and time.

And remember one thing. FOR THE ALLIANCE :D

It's going to be excited to see that Legion is doing so well, quality wise, in Alpha at the moment. All I've seen has been amazing, but what I'm most excited about is the new Raid and the PvE-Section all along, being my most played.

Being a mainly PvE-er, we've been through amazing Raids and Lore-wise dungeons since Classic and I'm excited to see what comes in the future.

Can't wait for the new transmog system so I can finally un-clutter my bags.

Can't wait to play my favorite class lore wise (Demon Hunter)

Finally as a paladin getting to wield the holy Ashbringer. Among other classes getting to wield weapons of unimaginable power.

Can't wait to explore the broken isles and the tomb of sargeras.

What I have loved about wow is the story line and the epic raid environment.

Have played since late BC/early Wrath, and have fallen in love with this game ever since the beginning of my time.

Really looking forward to the artifacts, especially the druid!  Class halls look interesting also.  I play solo with mostly questing and exploring so I always look forward to new places to go.

I'm really looking forward to the new artifact weapons. I think they add some really cool lore (Ele shaman/Mage artifacts/Frost DK) and also look completely bad ass. I also love grinding towards new transmogs/increases in power and so far it looks like all the appearences and artifact power can be unlocked through grinding single player as well group content.

I'm also really excited for all the new animations. I'll probably be playing either warrior or enhance/ele shaman and they all look great. I like the feeling/sound that the new special attacks have - they really feel like they're connecting with something!

A new world to explore and lots of new lore will also be great. With all the new lore brought in during Chronicle I think Legion will act as a great conduit to further explore some of the themes/stories brought up!

The class halls also look amazing, especially the warrior one! I think it helps ties in warriors as Titan chosen guardians which I think fits the theme really nicely. Can't wait for it!

A lot of times it's the system or quality of life aspects I look forward to most. An example in Legion is the updated transmog system, as well as the systematic concept behind artifacts and color schemes/designs. It's something that I'd love to see iterated on moving forward.

I'm also looking forward to collecting new mounts, which I'm preparing to binge-collect at Legion's launch.

Hi there. Good job Icy Veins. Followed your site all this time, as a reader. Ive made close to 20 lvl 100 characters, and from the days of Thottbot (haha), this and wowed is my "only" wow-go-to sites. Whenever im in doubt about a stat weight, a tier swap question or anything in the likes, I come here for the most respected answer in my eyes. Keep it up, and have a great Legion time. After having played since Vanilla, I would appreciate the chance to offer Blizzard my feedback, so I can help shape Legion into being the best expansion since TBC/WotlK.

Im very much looking forward to Legion, as it looks promising in regards of bringing back a much higher skill cap ceiling for 5 man content. My favorite parts of the game outside raiding has always been HC dungeons. In TBC and especially in WotlK, it was something I could do every day. With blizzard brining reasons to implement more dungeons along the way, we can hope for a much more thriving dungeon environment.

Ive played WoW for almost 11 years, and WotLK Wrath Gate cinematic, along side the feeling of killing that first boar in Hellfire Peninsula when TBC launched... WOW.. what a feeling. I got a blue boot drop, that replaced a molten core item, haha.. Was feeling bit ambivalent about that, but it was an amazing journey from there. Getting that first ride on a flying mount.. !! That was something. The moment you upgraded it to epic speed was indeed an epic feeling.

So all in all, Im hoping that Legion will bring back the playability and skill cap levels of the open world and in dungeons, and that raiding continues its course. If this happens on the expense of habit more dull leveling experience that is 100000% fine with me. In WoD that leveling experience is lasting maximum 5 hours for me atm anyway with the way heirlooms, xp boost and bonus objective areas/treasures are working.

So the focus SHOULD be on dungeons and end game content, and NOT on leveling. WoD was one of the most fantastic leveling up run-throughs I've had in this game on my main at launch (after the issues with servers/realms), but that has not lasted till this day, and certainly won't come back before Legion either.

Look at it this way:

All focus was put on WoD open world for leveling. Fantastic leveling. But at lvl 100 we all ended up in the same tiny spot: Our Garrisons. In 6.2, we are all in Tanaan. And still, rest of WoD mapping is laying desolate. Im very much looking forward to the changes in gathering/fishing/general open world content.

See ya in Legion, hopefully in Beta already.

When I was a child, I was going to Internet cafes and looking at World of Warcraft players at there. It was only in Vanilla version. When the Burning Crusade released, I was at the Internet cafe and watch how people goes through gates. I loved this game at this moment even more but I had no credit cards to subscribe because I was under 18 at this point. Then in the stores pre-paid card payment methods appeared and I started playing this game in this way. First thing that I do in this game, which is most valuable, was running around orgrimmar and seeing how big it is and I lost myself in the game. I still running in Orgrimmar without doing anything (I know you guys there :) )

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
