Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

It might sound really lame, but I'm actually really excited to test out Legion's fishing artifact.

It's a new concept, artifact weapons, and to immediately apply it to arguably the most boring, necessary evil in the game is an awesome idea. It could be totally c**p, but it has the potential to make fishing really fun, and so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out.

From WoW past and present, I've enjoyed WoD raiding.

Granted, it may be because this is the first expansion I've played start to finish, or because I'm the co-GM of an amazing team of friends who finally achieved 13/13M last week (that's a rush, especially when it happens live on my stream!) but I've loved the new approach to raiding with the LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic tiers, I've loved being able to bring my entire raiding roster to Heroic before slimming and optimising for Mythic, and I've loved the style of the new encounters, making the environment an integral part of the encounter, like stampers on Hans/Frans or the pillars as Shadowforce nets on Mannoroth.

People can argue and support that Blizzard have done some horrid things things this expac, but I for one have loved it and am keen to see what they've learned from the obvious stuff ups. *cough*professions*cough

I'm really thrilled to see how outlaw rogue and survival hunter will work out in PvP! And with the new honor system, I really hope there will be "skill matters, not gear". I am for sure hyped as crazy.

I'm looking forward to all the new spell animations. The new model updates in previous expansions has made the game feel like a whole new one. I hope the new animations will get me as excited playing the game as I am a big fan of things looking visually epic.

I hope that in new expansions shadow priests won't be "destroyed" by valor upgrades like they are now just like other classes where we're basicly forced to play just one spec. I'm looking forward to new raids and I want them to be fun with a lot of mechanics. I want to believe that artifact weapons will have correct stats for each class tongue.png

I'm excited to see the storyline and secretly hoping that mw monk changes won't gonna happen biggrin.png and last but not least I hope that we'll get more raids \o/

For Legion I'm looking forward for warrior and hunter classes, the new animations and sounds they have in store for us. I'd like to see how artifacts behave, to know their storylines, and check the new talents. I'm hyped for the new dungeons, since they look gorgeous and have some nice mechanics.

My fondest memories are back from TBC 2.3 when I started as a human paladin, exploring the Elwynn Forest, and remembering the chills I had when I entered Duskwood and getting one shotted by wolves (level 6 ftw). The second best is when I got into Tempest Keep, that lovely architecture being seared into my mind even today.

I'm pretty hyped for Legion in general. As a raider, I thought I would look forward to the new raids the most, but really it's the little things... like the countless hours I've set aside to spend changing hats repeatedly in the wardrobe manager. Then changing them back. Then changing them again. I'm unreasonably excited bout that.

My fondest memory in WoW to date is probably the first time killing Algalon in Ulduar with our 10 man group, and the ninja Jeeves repair in the middle of it.

Can't wait for Legion - been playing WOW since day one when I bought it off the shelf at my local store in 2004.  Looking forward to the continuing story and discovering how the Burning Legion started.  Do wish that the old PVP honor system could return, in some way anyway.  Loved the titles that we had to work for.

I am particularly interested to see how the new Challenge Mode system turns out and if it will be able to provide a true alternative competitive endgame to raiding.

Still have to find out how exactly the loot is going to be scaled and how it compares to raid loot and trinkets/ set bonuses so you are able to stay competitive against mythic raiders, at least in the long run.

I look forward to the frost deathknight artifact weapon the most because i love frostmourne and the lich king the most i started playing in wrath of the lich king so my most memorable moment is probably standing in front of the lich king after he toyed with us the entire expansion.

Transmog has been one of the best features that Blizzard added to WoW but Legion really takes it to the next level with the wardrobe. Many old raids have become places where my friends and I relax and reminisce while farming new looks. I am excited to reclaim my bank slots across all my characters and look forward to the 7.0 patch arrival where all of my cloth wearers can enjoy my mage's tier 3.

I've been looking forward to Legion since it was just a rumor, I recently had to stop raiding and step back from the game and this xpac I'll be able to come back full force I hope it's as good as it looks. The new artifact weapons seem to be an amazing change that the game needs to be interesting and fresh and the fact that mops will scale to you keeps everything interesting and fun I'm so insanely excited

I remember back in 2005 my step brother lived at home with me, my mom and my step dad. I looked up to him and I liked to watch Hindi stuff and one day I saw him playing a really cool looking game. I asked him what it was and he told me world of Warcraft. He said you had to pay per month to play and I had never heard of anything like that but I was intrigued. Because of the cost I didn't start playing myself right away, also because I didn't have a computer, but eventually he moved out and joined the army. While he was away I gave him a phone call and asked him what that game was again because I was bored and wanted to play it. He set me up with an account and I was on my way. I instantly fell in love with it and started playing a lot, so much my parents were concerned haha but whatever. I've been playing on and off ever since then and played every expansion except cataclysm. Honestly recently I've lost respect for blizzard with warlords of Draenor, but I still love the game and it's so nostalgic to me. That's why I want to try legion, I'm not giving up on WoW and honestly legion looks really cool. The artifact weapons really appeal to me because it brings more importance and fantasy to your weapon and it's something to work for. The class hall will unite many players of the same class together and we are getting back beautiful dalaran as our main city. The legion to me is the coolest enemy in Warcraft and I'm really hoping to see Sargeras this expansion. I've never been much into PvP but this new system looks really cool because you can see clear progress and I really want some of those mounts and titles. Overall this looks like a very epic and fun expansion and I'm looking forward to try it. Thank you for the beta opportunity icy veins.

Can't wait for Legion!! truly looking forward to the changes to survival hunter, finally i feel each class/spec is significantly different which makes it harder to pick and build towards mastering. Been a wow player since 05 and loved the BC period with Illidan as his the best WoW character ever and love following his story.

There’s so much to look forward to in legion with the new profession system, new diablo style Challenge Modes, new transmog system, new raids, legendary world drops, all zones being viable to level in from the start. The one out of those I’m most looking forward to is the new Challenge Modes, its inherently the most difficult content blizzard has ever put out because it can scale infinitely and also has the path of exile style keystones which add random variables on top of already difficult dungeons, so it’s going to be very interesting to see how they both balance it and reward it.

As for memories in WoW, I’ve been playing since the start and have so many to choose from, but these are the ones that stand out for me personally.

I had never heard of mmo's at all and was more a counter strike player at the time, I went to a friend’s house who happened to be doing one of the vanilla world dragons in Ashenvale and I simply couldn’t believe what i was watching. It was on a scale i had before never seen and was what originally got in me into playing WoW.

Another is a battle in Undercity shortly after blizzard added the bear mount for killing all the faction leaders (and at the same time buffed them so they were ‘harder’ to kill). My server had a lot more alliance than horde, but not so much that the horde couldn’t put up a decent fight. So 3 alliance raid groups had already wiped out Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff and Silvermoon, all they had left was Undercity. Almost every single horde player that was online at the time piled into undercity and camped Varimathras and Sylvanas to make a last stand and we ended up holding out until 3am when the alliance finally gave up and left.

Aside from those 2 main moments there were things like the opening of the dark portal (TBC) when blasted lands was absolutely packed with both alliance and horde just sitting around having fun with each other, Getting a realm first achievement for being the first level 80 on the server, helping create and be part of what would become a top 50 10man guild after starting from absolute scratch.

I would ove to test my main class, the Shadow Priest, and explore the new world searching for bugs and help fixing them.

I would also like to test the new honor and artifact system to know how it works since im not that much into PvP.

I am very excited about so many things in Legion. The overhaul of the transmog system (yay bank space!), the artifact weapons and corresponding quests (particularly for MM hunter and fire mage), the new dungeons look awesome, Dalaran becoming the main hub again will be amazing as it is my favourite city. It is these things, among many others (especially trying out demon hunters and seeing the new theory crafting) that makes me really excited for Legion to drop. (:

I'm excite for the Artifacts and their quest lines. I also can't wait to see the stories blizzard has wrote for each zone and quest lines within them.

I am looking forward to the new system of leveling no matter in which zone you start. I enjoy leveling a lot and it is sometimes rather boring that you have to go to certain areas depending on your level. The new way to level professions looks also quite fun. Also from what I have seen so far the atmosphere of Legion is simply awesome. And as a collector I can't wait for new pets and mounts. What I have seen so far looks promising.

I have to admit I wasn't quite happy with the way WoD turned out. Up to that addon I always had fun one way or the other. Right now I am bored more often than not and a lot of people I've been playing with for years stopped altogether. Would be great to get a bit of the old feeling back and hopefully some of my friends start to play anew.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
