Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

My fondest memory of playing World of Warcraft may be my first: entering the intimidatingly massive world and first exploring with a friend doing the same, best of all feeling a part of the games world as I looked around every nook and cranny in Stormwind and Ironforge which got me hooked from when I first started years and years ago.

What I'm most looking forward to in Legion would be trying out all the specs for my Death Knight, Monk and Rogue characters to see how they feel to play now that the new spell and ability animations are being implemented. The artifact weapons and transmog improvements are also a huge draw as well as this. On top of this all I'm very tempted to try healing for the first time!

If it wasn't for the class guides on this site chances are I wouldn't have experimented with as many classes and found the right one for me, maybe meaning I wouldn't be playing today so thanks for all the help!

My two favourite classes are druid and warlock so the things I am most looking forward to are having a floating skull follow me around as my weapon (while commanding a legion of demons) and the new looks for druid forms.

My fondest memories are of the class quests for druid and warlock (yes even swimming out to that chest off the coast of Westfall for the aquatic form quest). In particular the dreadsteed quest-line and the ritual of doom quest-line.

One thing I really appreciate about Star Wars: The Old Republic is the individual class stories that are so varied between classes and factions and is something I hope we can get a taste of in WoW: Legion with the artefact quest-lines and class halls.

I have a hard time deciding between two features and choose which one I'm most looking forward to.

One is definitely the new (non-)daily quest system. I love the idea to break out from the unflexible rinse and repeat, and give it all a new and fresh approach. I hope it will be exciting to always have some variation and choice and most importantly, we will finally be less instanced and more into the wild again (ironically, *mumbles savage stuff* biggrin.png).
The other one are the reworked classes. I've always been a fan of WoW's class designs and I can't wait trying (and hopefully beta testing) them all out as soon as I can. I think I'll give this one my number 1! happy.png

As for my fondest memories, there's many... But I think it's most important to mention that I seem to be a very rare player type, because while I've liked every single expansion for what it has been (and also not least for what it wanted to be), I have enjoyed and thoroughly liked every new expansion more than the previous one (with Warlords being a little exception to the rule here).

So in spite of the fact that mother nostalgia wants us to rule out any other opinion, I must say that my heart is still in Pandaria, reminiscing about the sublimity and the wisdom the Pandaren wanted to pass on to us and how in the end we failed to learn ANYTHING from their teachings. The moment when Chen smiles at the end of MoP's cinematic to me expresses everything there is to that fantastic continent and the philosophy it and it's long shrouded exotic inhabitants obtained through the sacrifice of their emperor. I can't wait to see if Velen's visions of Anduin will turn out to be true. Legion's cinematics looked very promising in that regard.

Thank you for this great giveaway and the chance to win a beta key.

Looking forward to the demon hunter class, the artifact weapons and the dungeons/raids, the new leveling area's, actually everything. Go explore the new area's and don't have to go back to my garrison anymore.

My favorite memory from previous expansions is the dragon soul raid with the guild I was in.

I signed up JUST to post in this thread, but I've been using Icy Veins for Spec/Glyph/Rotation advice for quite awhile. Your guides are so simple and straight to the point.

I'm excited about Legion because it's the first xpac I'll actually be able to start playing on the release date. I have played on and off for nearly a decade, but always managed to be around at least 6 months after a new release.

I think I'm most excited about Legion because of GNOME HUNTERS! I currently have a Dranei but I've always wanted a gnome hunter. Woohoo!

I have enjoyed doing achievements past expansions, i especially love Reputation achi's. I have 60 exalted and i hope they add more achievements like that with the addition of title and stuff. I am looking forward to playing an enhancement shaman because animations look super cool as of right now.

Wow so many things I'm really excited.

First, the new combat emotions. I've saw some footage of the Warrior Arctifact chain quest and got really hyped of how Blizzard will make with the other classes.

Second, the PvE. What to expect on raids, regarding mechanics, fights, and of course, the lore.

Third, I've never enjoyed pvp a lot but with this new system I must say I have high expectations. Especially with pvp talents that kept barring the PvE ones in the past.

On the overall, I am optimistic with how Blizzard will provide content for us to keep playing.
That's it.

Oh there is so much hype for it. Other that the Burning Legion is my favorit lore, Demon hunters are just sooo...sooo... NOM! A class i have been wanting to play sens BC, and they managed to make them look even more badass, i mean with the dubble jump and glide, and all the costumasations. Raids and lore is the main thing im looking forward to, maybe the new pvp system will make me try some pvp again.

And artifacts ofc, who wont love being one of thousand of paladins with Ashbringer!
But the thing i like with Artifacts are the way you level them up, so you allways have something to do in game.

Allso some hype to the new proffesion system, i think it will make farming alot more fun!
And ofc, from the roomers, a shit ton of legendary items, who dosen't want some diablo 3 feels in wow, and what i hear is that the items drops at random, so there isen't really a way to farm it, you just need that sweet sweet luck.

So in short... Pritty much hype for EVERYTHING in legion! I canno't wait!

P.S
Love Pepe the demon overlord.

Hey!

I'm looking forward to both PvE:ing and PvP:ing, both looks great so far. The 2 new talent systems seems super cool too! Artifacts are also really sweet looking, can't wait to try it all out. Would be lovely with a key now that WoD is kind of dried out on content.

Thanks for the giveaway and congratz on 5 years.

I`m really looking forward to the Story of Illidan in the new Expansion.

I hope he will have a redemption, but still be the anti-hero we know.

My concerns are with the random legendarys, but we will see how Blizzard handles these.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
