Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Long time Warcraft fan here, Been playing since WC2 tides of darkness and i am excited to see the tomb of sargeras  again and Night Elf lore/and the Illidan/Tyrande/Malfurian trio *basically not much since wc3 except a few zones.

My 2 favorite characters are Arthas and Illidan and i glad to finally see Illidan is getting the story he should of had from the beginning.

*I heard orginially in TBC he was going to be a ally guiding us through outland, then they changed it.*

also DEMON HUNTER!

I AM SO GLAD We finally got it. my mains a warlock and i been annoyed we been teased with a demon hunter spec since mist alpha. Hell, WoD beta had a meta talent till they took it out at release for demonbolt. i remember being so sad when they took the meta talent away and i was pissed, then few months later i see DEMON HUNTER COMING SOON! it made me about die in joy!

also when i heard about artifact weapons i was sold. finally a weapon i can identify with my class spec with lots of lore *while also not being a legendary only good for one patch*

Overall, LEGION LOOKS LIKE THE BEST EXPANSION BLIZZARD HAS DONE! they got the lore, they got the class, they got the best new features. and they are taking good things from Diablo and bringing them here.

Can't wait for another installment of the Warcraft universe. This immersive game has been a home away from home since vanilla. Even though I haven't been subbed the whole time it's the one game I keep coming back too. Artifact weapons are going to be amazing and I can't wait for demon hunter!!! Keep it going blizzard!

I'm just ready for my friends to finally come back to the game. Couldn't be happier with Demon Hunters, the new PvP system, artifact weapons, and the newly revised class specs that are going to add a sense of diversity again!

i am looking most forward to the artifacts, the story, the new transmog system and ofc the raiding/dungeon aspect since that is also what i enjoyed most in the past. and i'd love to try the new professions i've read about.

I'm really looking forward to the transmog changes, Moonkin changes, artifact weapons, two flask icons that are not practically the same color, and any other reasons to leave my garrison! lol

As for WoW memories...sooo many :D But let's see, back in Cata, we were on Spine of Deathwing Heroic. And I mean we'd been going at this fight for weeks at this point. One night, we're on the last plate, both healers are pretty much dry, and we're steeling ourselves for yet another wipe. But our shaman, let's himself die, reincarnates with just enough mana oomph to get us through 10 more seconds and we ended up downing the boss. I don't think our vent was that loud even on our first LK kill lol

And here's one more personal moment since I just thought of it before I hit Post. I had been camping in Shadowmoon Valley for a couple of hours in seach of the Voidtalon of the Dark Star. I was about to run out of free time so I decided to call it quits and was going to go up to Nagrand to check the BMAH before I logged off. Lo and behold, as I was running up the path right in front of the Ring of Blood I see a purple shimmer off to my right and there's the portal! I quickly veered off course, hopped in, and claimed what has become one of my favorite mounts!

I'm most excited for the new class, from what I've seen so far it look badass and fun to play, I'm also interested in it story and what they add to the world in general.

I'm also looking forward to the story and lore very very much, because in my opinion the overall story arc is all over the place since Cataclysm, it's time to fight the Legion again and hopefully it will lead us to new planets with new races and I hope we will be getting out of the Azeroth - Draenor cycle after this one. smile.png

I hope Blizzard learns from what they've done wrong with Warlords of Draenor. We need more, MORE! Maybe it's just me, but the subscriptions numbers point to that aswell, I got bored by WoD so fast.. Where is my level 4,5,6 Garrison? New buildings? Right, the shipyard and Tanaan was fun. For 2 Weeks, until people grinded all the reputation. I hope they patch new content more frequently during Legion because from what I've seen so far it doesn't look bad!

Since WC3 demon hunter have been my favorite class and the lore of Illidan is amazing. I am most looking forward to playing through the story as a Night Elf Demon Hunter along side the infamous Illidan.

This might seem like a dumb feature to get hyped about for an expansion but I'm really digging the new transmog system. Mostly because of this : http://imgur.com/SWWvRJQ&crTNkIo&2k3k2x3 As you can see I have a bit of a transmog hoarding issue and it's been like this since Cataclysm, so you can imagine what a sigh of relief I had when they announced this new diablo inspired system.

Also looking forward to the prestige system since I don't really enjoy arenas and I can never seem to gather people for RBGs. The only PVP I do is random bgs and this new system will finally bring a proper reason for doing them besides gearing up.

I care a lot about aesthetics aswell and what they are doing with the melee classes, revamping their entire animation set, is absolutely fantastic for me. Finally you can distinguish warriors from other classes in a crowded fight (the new sounds for melee are kickass aswell).

So yea, while I'm really looking forward to the "main" content such as raiding, endgame areas, questing or pvp. I'm very thankful that they bring a lot of little details that make this world that much more interesting !

One thing I'm really excited for is that they're making every spec seem new. It makes me want to play everything again and see what I enjoy again. I used to love making toons back when I first started and now I can enjoy the newness all over again.

The other thing I'm looking forward to is how the new follower missions and stuff work. It's like a Diablo 3 Adventure Mode in WoW. How awesome is that?

I'm looking forward to playing the warrior class and of course playing with my friends who already got it! Also I'm a very big fan of the lore so being able to do the quests at my own pace instead of rushed during the release would be amazing! Thank you guys for doing this.

Honestly, with Legion, really looking forward to the story progressing that was laid out in WoD. It will be interesting to see how Gul'dan meets his fate, what long lost heroes might come back, as well as trying out a new class. While I will always be fond of the stance switching for Warriors in Vanilla, ie switch to battle to overpower then back to defensive to not die while tanking, I have to say the storyline in WoD is one of, if not my most favorite part of WoW so far. While I don't really have a drive to ever get Loremaster, I was more than happy to go through each zone and finish all of the storylines in WoD. Easily some of the best cutscenes in what it meant to us, the player, while progressing through each zone.

Been playing a warrior since vanilla, hybrid as long as they let me. Excited to try the new Fury, but I'll fall back to Arms which looks more like the version I enjoyed for years if it doesn't float my boat. Glad to have icy veins as a resource for the new specs when Legion launches

I've been playing since Vanilla. I have lots of memories in WoW, the battle of C'thun and Blackhand was so crazy, and we finally defeated them. That's so happy with my guild.biggrin.png

In Legion, im looking forward to the classchanges of death knight, new artifact weapons, mostly new raids.

I hope everyone will have fun in Legion!tongue.png

I've been a Monk for almost 4 years now, and for that reason I look very much forward to the upcoming Demon Hunter class. The incredible mobility, combined with amazing customization, warrior abilities and a fel fire Warlock theme, I just can't resist wanting one so badly. I never thought I would leave my Monk, but now I'm looking forward to maining a Demon Hunter!

My fondest memory in World of Warcraft is from Cataclysm. I never had the chance nor the skill to join a Raid in Wrath of the Lich King, but I went back through Icecrown Citadel and defeated Arthas. Even though it wasn't relevant anymore, getting to experience one of my now favorite Raids, and of course killing Arthas, is something I'll never forget. When he spoke with his father and the Lich King left for him good, I couldn't help but tear up. What an amazing story, and what an amazing moment in my World of Warcraft history.

I look forward to trying the Demon Hunter class as well as the new Artifact weapons.  Ever since The Burning Legion I have wanted a Demon Hunter class.  I have mogged my rogue to look like a Demon Hunter several times and farmed Warglavies more than I care to admit.

I look forward to getting back into raiding and 5 mans being more important again.  I had great memories of doing TBC 5 mans with guildies over and over throughout the expansion.  Hopefully the new Challenge Modes will pick up on this and improve.

I can't wait to try all the artifacts not just one specifically, I hope they finally fix pally tanking threat, I also wish they could bring back one of the golden day abilities like righteous defense and divine intervention. My main is a shaman healer and I would like to see how the chances affect my play style before everything drops. I would take full advantage and take notes so I can prepare myself while current content is out for the upcoming expansion, giving something to look forward to.  I really hope they decide to give demon hunters the ability to fly instead of glide that would be awesome. I always wished they would have done that to demo warlocks I mean how cool would it be to be able to fly in demon form. I wonder how it's going to be as a healer to heal without spirit, I am sure it will be a challenge, but there is always a way to heal even if we have to conjure it from the very air around us lol

What I liked in the past? BC balanced PvP. What I look forward to? Balanced PvP. There are OP classes every class should have a fair chance 1v1 based on skill. Haters go ahead and hate.

I am most excited about being able to explore the new areas and partake in new quests/adventures. Also the Transmog system is going to be great!

My fondest memory would have to be during Brewfest. A bunch of my buds and i had just go done raiding Dragon Soul. We had just finished the Madness of Deathwing, Throughout the run my friend was constantly saying how he had a feeling he was going to win the Blazing Drake. Sure enough it dropped and he won it. Seconds later we heard a loud CRASH over the headset. Long story short, he had ran to tell his brother, ended up falling down the stairs and breaking his leg biggrin.png

I just simply cannot choose what I want the most atm.

So far from what I read is that they're going to revamp almost everything (classes, profession, pvp system, etc), so I'm really excited and want to see all these things ;)

What was good in that past.

Now that's a good question, literally I could write a novel about all those things I've experienced in the past 10+ years ;)

I've enjoyed every xpansion but still, Vanilla was the best because everything was, most of the people was just running around as they didn't know what to do but they enjoyed being "dumb" lol ;)

Many people got new friends, even met their wife/husband in-game. I remember that I had a wedding in SW cathedral as I've engaged my guildmate in 2005 (a Human Female AffliLock and a Night Elf Feral druid - image what could came out of this if we can have kids ;))

That's why I've said that Legion could be good as well as they revamp all the good stuffs, many things will change (maybe some of us even needs to relearn how to play :P ) and I feel it's gonna be awesome.

Cheers,

Deme

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
