Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm most looking forward to the Artifact system and lore. The lore of Blizzard games has always been interesting to me and the last two expansions have felt very stagnant lore wise. WoD especially was just too much of a retread to keep me interested, so I'm very happy we're finally getting back to core story of the Warcraft universe in this expansion.

My favorite moment was certainly forging Quel'Serrar when it was current content. The whole journey was amazing. I fondly remember constantly asking my friends to run Dire Maul a million times for the compendium. I had to rotate in and out people because they would get tired of doing it but I was on a mission and couldn't be stopped. I can still remember every single trash pack and how to pull them effectively. Dire Maul was the struggle for me on it, killing Onyxia was the easy part. I was in a server second guild on MC and Onyxia at the time.

I was so insanely proud of my Quel'Serrar. I still use it as my transmog weapon. Even though my warrior isn't my main anymore, I also use the updated version as transmog on my main frost DK just out of sheer love for that weapon. Nothing else really comes close to that journey and pursuit. I wish there were still interesting quests for weapons like that.

This expansion looks to bring some good new dungeons. Even tho i raid most of the times running dungeon was something i always enjoyed back in vanilla and tbc. But kinda died in wotlk for me. I have good hopes on these new dungeons and the previews i have seen so far. Now lets hope they are as good on live as they seem to be on paper!

After trying to figure out what my new main was after the ability pruning in WOD, now I'm back to the same thing with Legion, so I'd mostly be looking forward to figuring out what my main should be if I got in beta.

The thing I expect from Legion is classes being unique again, and this expansion seem to be aiming that (Old-style paladin buffs, the whole artifact weapons etc.). And to try these changes out, I'd like a beta key so I can enjoy the game and also report what's wrong with it and make the game better.

I can't wait for the artifacts and Bloodworms, but still kinda worried about Class Halls. What I love about WoW as it stands now, is cool artwork(cough, Gurthalak, cough), unique story and the fact that Garrosh is dead.

One of the things I'm most looking forward to in Legion is the new Artifacts. I have been playing since back in Vanilla, and I think it is exciting to be getting back a talent tree-esque system again. Also as a warlock, really excited to see how the Skull of the eredar will work.

One of my fondest memories in WoW was when my raid team full of mostly RL friends downed Deathwing for the first time. We had basically wiped on the last phase, with the boss at a couple million HP left, and our DK tank was the only one left up. He managed to survive for a couple more seconds and it turned out the boss didnt die at 0 hp but a couple million so getting the kill was a surprise and everyone was going crazy in vent.

I'm looking forward to Blizzard bringing back the uniqueness of the classes and specs again, along with the layers of complexity that will be introduced with the Artifact weapons. Especially with the Arcane mage!

I'm very excited to play the new demon hunter class! I am way into the aesthetics and movement of World of Warcraft, so the class looks right up my ally. Looks amazing, jumps around, i wish it was out right now!

This expansion is shaping up to be one of the great ones. The new animations overhauls of specs the story omg I can't wait for all of this.

Theres just too much I look forward to. Dungeons look fleshed out, Zones look gorgeous, the new melee animations will look godly on my warrior, and the Xmog wardrobe will save me at least 1000 bank and storage slots. With the new wardrobe I see a whole new metagame in WoW.

Having played World of Warcraft since early Vanilla, I have had many ups and downs with the franchise. However it has inspired me through my life to pursue a field in the art indistry, primarily illustration, to create worlds that mesmerize new generations much how Blizzard had done so for me.

My favorite memory is a close tie between the server opening of the AQ gates, and finally downing Lich King 25H with my guild.

As far as legion, I am most excited to see how the integration of diablo-esque features such as the rift equivalent, and random legendaries pan out in the long run. I am interested to see if it will be an overwhelming success or an imbalanced nightmare for a game so intrinsically different to Diablo.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
