Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm looking forward to intense executes phases with Surrender to Madness - as well as the comeback for Atonement.

But Challenge Modes and the revamped follower system - actually going out for quests - are what interest me the most. Well, that and Sylvanas. And whatever happens to a ton of lore characters. And the new Hunter specs. Gah. Too much >_<

As unoriginal as it is, Demon Hunter got me pre-ordering Legion before anything else could even be whispered. I've wanted to play Demon Hunter since we first met Illidan back in Warcraft 3, so for me, Demon Hunter is all I've wanted for so long. The rest of Legion looks great, but the reality is I would happily pay $50 to play WoD on a demon hunter -- that's just how badly I wanted it.

My fondest WoW memory is tough, but I think it peaked when I was about 12. I had been leading a very successful PvP guild on Alliance/Rexxar when we realized we couldn't progress any farther in PvP without knocking each other out of gear, so we needed to raid. We didn't have the raw body count to raid on our own though (we had enough people in the guild, but our time zone distribution was such that we could have at least 1 PvP group running 24/7, not necessarily 40 people on simultaneously), so we decided to merge with another guild that had the first few bosses of MC down and was looking to start a second raid group as well as fill out their first.

What I was told was that my guild wasn't going to be excluded from loot -- we were going to eligible to roll for the first month in MC via loot council/priority, my officers would all retain their officer positions, I was supposed to be co-GM.

Of those things, I got co-GM but without the ability to promote my officers. Literally none of the other things I asked for happened. No one in my guild was happy.

The 5 of us that made it into that first raid night were trying to decide what to do when a Paladin and I realized there was one thing to do.

Half way through buffing up, 2 molten giants start running at the raid. Half the raid is afk. I watch the Paladin die half way through pulling them back -- not wanting to waste the opportunity, I pop evasion, grab the giants, and pull them in, wait for one of the tanks to panic and pick them up, and pop vanish.

Everyone dies. My guild is laughing hysterically in our private channel. The paladin gets kicked from group and guild. We're still cracking up. No one says anything to me in /o about it.

Everyone releases and runs back, barring me, who stayed vanished the whole time. The raid runs back in. I decided the Paladin's good work isn't finished, and by now evasion is back up -- I see who in the raid needs hugs from a Molten Giant again. Turns out, 39 people did.

Again, I'm the last one standing. Apparently nobody saw who did it this time, so nothing happens.

3 times is a charm though. I pull the molten giants a third time, at this point crying I'm laughing so hard because how in the world is no one seeing this. I accidentally hit my teamspeak push to talk instead of ventrilo, the raid guild's Teamspeak hears me cracking up,  realized I've leeroy'd them 3 times now.

My entire part of the guild leaves guild and raid.

Next morning, GM goes insane and disbands his entire guild, gives away all of his gold, d/e's his gear and gives that away. Last any of us saw him.

10/10, would recommend.

I can't wait to see my Priest and Druid class changes.  Also, I want to see if they did any changes to crafting.  The crafting for WoD seemed mat intensive.

One of my favorite memories from my years of WoW was doing a guild run of UBRS in vanilla.  We were at General Drakkisath and our hunter started his kiting of Drak.  The rest of us were killing the others when we saw the hunter die and heard on Ventrilo "uh guys, Drak is coming back!  I lost him!"  We were scrambling because it was too early for him to be pathing back.  In spite of Drak's early return, we finished UBRS.  We asked our hunter what happened, did Drak bug out or something?  He goes "nah I ran into a wall and he killed me!"  We laughed till tears came to our eyes!!

First of all, sorry for mistakes, english is not my native language.

Second, i hope that my fresh registration does not affect my chance of winning, i'm a member since the IV Launch but it didn't feel necessary to create an account.

I hope Legion brings the old feeling from Burning Crusade, this Addon gave me so many goosebumps. I was one of the few lucky ones who got a glaive from Illidan, I was 17 Years old back then.

The artifact weapons are a good idea and i hope this will be fun and not just a grind. I hope for class quests like the warlock fire quest, those quests are really impressive and much fun.

I looked at the Boss testings and i have to say that this looks very hard, since there are so many Abilitys. But maybe that's the other side from making classes easier.

With each expansion there have been things I was excited for, but none has excited me more than Legion. With the class rebalancing, new hero class, artifact weapons, new areas, class halls and new lore concerning the Burning Legion and Sargeras, this is exactly the expansion I've been waiting for.

I am most excited about the new catforms. Feral is my main character on live for a long long time now & these changes are just worldbreaking for me, i think i did a happydance for days. Really cant wait to test & see what feral is like. Another thing wich is really awesome is ofcourse Demon hunter! But will it be my main alt or will it still be balance druid? Hope i can test it out soon! Pvp seems allot of fun to pick up again with the prestige system. Curious for the new raids aswell, cant wait to kick Gul'Dan's ass :) I could keep on going here about how i look forward to this expantion forever, so this is it.

Legion is life! Life is Legion! <3

I personally can't wait to play Legion. The frost DK artifact is some of the coolest lore I've seen from Blizzard in a long while. Can't wait!!!!

P.S. Congratulations to Icy Veins on their 5th anniversary, it's a great site and continues to improve. Here's to another 5 years team.

I'm really looking forward to trying the Demon Hunter class, new battle pets, and mounts. Pet battling is one of my favorite things to do, I can't wait to see all the new ones that I'll be able to get.

Im really excited for the new mistweaver. Since it´s my main class and theres so many changes comming for the specc.... I´m a little scared they might have ruined it. But let´s just hope for the best! Transmog tho will be awesome. Finally having an empty void storage, bank and inventory again. Feels depressing if you got no more space for the precious transmog pieces! (Then again theres sooo much I´m looking forward to, that I could write another 40 lines about it.... >_<)

The best moments in World of Warcraft.... It´s definitely leveling and questing for the first time. Without account equip or any clue what you are doing. Finding your first good guild and the raids we had.... I really enjoyed Mists of Pandaria. It had the best story and the place is just perfect. Missing those times. If Legion gets as good as Pandaria or even close.... I´m in.

And congratulations for the 5 years anniversary! :3

I'm excited for the artifact weapons and demon hunters. I've been waiting for demon hunters since Warcraft 3, and getting the chance to learn all the lore about these new weapons will be interesting as well. Also congrats on the 5 years!

I'm looking forward to those beautiful looking artifacts and all those class changes. I love working myself into new things and to master them.

Mostly Im looking forward to my new main class, Paladin, because of the Ashbringer and the changes made to it so far.

Playing since late bc and have made myself a lot of friends in that time. So every moment i spend with them, be it ingame or otside of it, was worth every penny i spent on this lovely game! Our brightest moment was, when we managed to kill Garrosh on heroic prior to the nerfs and wod prepatch. best time I had in wow !

thank you for this giveaway, whoever wins: Im hyped anyway :D

I like how healing has evolved from the past till now, from having a healer who can only heal tanks etc. to having healers who maybe excel at one focus point but essentially can do both aoe and focused healing. Especially the changes in legion will be awesome as they make so much more variation in the healing styles available for the different specs. Also the interaction with the new artifact system is the thing i look most forard to as it will make healing so much more different from what it has ever been.

I am really looking forward to the transmog system implementation, especially as I am a roleplayer.  I am interested to see how the Demon Hunter class plays out. I won't be roleplaying one, but will be rolling one on a regular PvE server.

I am excited to see how Blizzard changes each class to better line up with each of its specializations.  I think having a greater difference in between each spec will make the game more fun to having more different play styles like Holy pallies having to be in the melee for more effective healing, Disc priests dipping in both dark and light more etc.  I am excited for the transmog system as well because sometimes i have trouble finding one or two pieces to complete a look and having that list could bridge the gap to completing some sets.  I'm not a huge PvPer but the new honor system sounds interesting as well.  I have been playing WoW for a long time and have always looked forward to what's next to come.  Hopefully I can get a Beta key to lessen the time I have to continue sending my followers out on missons. :P

I am really looking forward the the expansion in general, but more specifically the tanking changes and getting in the early access and testing out the changes myself so I can go ahead and start getting a feel for what i'll be playing in Legion. I also really want to figure out who is going to be the end boss for the expansion already!tongue.png

This is my first post as an official icy veins member, i'd like to start it thanking the guys behind the guides on this site for giving me the necessary knowledge over the years to transition from spec to spec, a trend I'm sure will continue in legion.

The most exciting feature of legion is proving very difficult to put my finger on, but if I was pressed I would say it has to be the Lore-heavy approach blizzard are taking. The Artifact weapon system is also a big one, not just the weapons, but also the game play they provide and the HUGE Lore implications of many of the quest lines.

I cannot wait for the class order halls and to have the opportunity to hang out with other players all grouped by class type, allowing for (hopefully) lots of interesting dialogue in terms of best talents/rotations/comparison of artifacts/transmogs/etc. It's a great Idea IMO and it is really going to make players feel attached to a particular class again.

The prestige system is something that I know will be right up my alley. It reminds me of my days as a young teen spending horus a day on CoD MW2, with no incentive other than to attain a shiny new badge and weapon skin. Here we go again!

Transmog is something I really enjoy and not only to we have brand new customizable weapons, but we also have an entire wardrobe system to make managing our favorite transmogs even easier!

This isn't even touching on all the insane amount of lore (Alleria, please!!), very interesting new challenge mode system, upgrade to how professions work, going back to dalaran, etc.

Legion genuinely seems (despite the negativity that is often seen on forums) like the most complete, Lore heavy, and on a personal level exciting expansion to date.

Whether or not I get my key I will continue to binge watch those who do. The hype train presses on.

First of all, I am a huge RPG-Nerd, therefore i cant wait for the potential lore since even WoD was pretty big, but unfortunately pretty irrelevant, when it comes to lore, since its an AU. Anyways, besides that i really want to test out how my classes feel, to figure out what do play as my new Main in Legion.

Thanks guys! I wish all of you the best of luck!

I am looking forward to having Dalaran as the crossfaction hub.

My favourite memory in WoW is from when I was a social in a raiding guild in vanilla, and they brought me as a standin to Molten Core to kill Ragnaros. It was my first ever MMO raiding experience, and I loved it.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
