Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am most looking forward to class changes. I enjoy seeing the new talents and redesigns that happen and keep gameplay interesting. The thing that stands out for me this time is, https://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/15412-artifact-series-mage/artifact weapons! I think the whole plan sounds pretty great and should keep interest further into the expansion than we typically see.

Just look at how cool Felo'melorn looks, who can pass this up! The lore history is also super interesting, it's names we all recognize with an exciting story to follow it up. If there's one thing blizzard does well, it's tell a great story.  (i suppose the staff of the dragonheart is also ok.. but only ok)

I've been lurking on this website for a very long time and of course the giveaway finally got me to register. I'm somewhat on the fence about Legion. The artifact weapon system is a double-edged sword in my opinion. It's going to remove the thrill of getting that new weapon. Luckily, they progress as well and they don't leave you with that "crappy heirloom" feeling. I have to judge it for myself before I form a real opinion on the matter.

I'm looking forward to the new Karazhan and Dalaran content. I'm pretty excited about those. I think the nostalgia of running through Dalaran again is going to be hard to beat.

I am looking forward to what looks like a more immersive playing experience. After playing since Vanilla, the game has gotten to be more of a race to max level, grinding and then alting. I look forward to spending more time with my monk and warlock and maybe being rid of my alt addiction, at least for a little while.

In Legion, I am most looking forward to the way holy priests are being tweaked. It seems to be just what they need to be competitive in a healing meta environment. I hope the class ends up being at the level it was in Cataclysm. All three specs were competitive and enjoyable.

The moment that sticks out in my mind as being my favorite moment in WoW isn't actually game play related. It has to do with all of the wonderful people I have met over the years. I still keep in contact with friends I met in BC, when I began playing. The amount you can have in common with people that live thousands of miles away from you is really quite amazing. Of course, if I had to pick a favorite game play moment, it would probably be killing Illidan or Kil'Jaeden. So many hours spent learning those bosses and perfecting the strats. It was all totally worth it.

I'm looking forward to the new dalaran, class halls and artifacts most in legion. I'll never forget the first time I was able to fly across the world and see all the the land from a birds eye view, absolutely beautiful.

I'm looking forward to see how Mistweaver and Holy Priest turn out and would like to try these specs prior to launch. I am in particular looking to see how well the fantasy they have set is going to play out.

I want to explore the broken isles, try the new Demon Hunter class and all those small but interesting changes for the classes I've played in the past: the new 'outlaw" spec for rogues, the changes made to hunters or to see what's changed for warlocks and how that will change my game.

And also to check the new artifact weapons, those staves and daggers look awesome!

To me, Legion seems to be Blizzard's attempt to breathe life into a game that has become stagnant.  Artifacts, animations, PvP, class changes (overhauls), demon hunters, and of course lore.  I'm pretty pumped for all of it.  Artifacts hopefully will make everyone feel as if they bring something useful to every encounter.

But honestly when I first seen Arthas and Frostmourne in the cinematic for WotLK, it gave me goosebumps.  Still does, in fact. That entire expansion was a visual treat.  Playing Death Knights raised by the Lich King himself, was pretty awesome. Northrend too was a well thought out area.  Nordic culture with an eventual steampunk twist.  I know everyone to some degree remembers Ulduar - I loved that place.  So many tears.  Tears of joy and pain.  And lets not forget Icecrown.  That fateful encounter actually felt personal to me.  Such an epic fight.  Blizzard had officially won me over with it all.  To date, my favorite part of WoW so far.

Legion is probably the expansion I've been most hyped for out of all of them. I came in at the very start of wrath and really regretted not getting into the game during BC. I'm so excited to see what lore comes out of legion especially after being let down by WoD after MoP which was probably my favorite expansion. The transmog changes and class order halls also make me really excited to play. Also demon hunters, woah.

Looking forward to the pvp/honor system in legion along with artifacts.  Something I enjoyed in the past was raiding icecrown citadel with friends forthe first time and killing the lich king.

I'm hoping the conjoined capital will bring back a sense of community. I've been nagging a bunch of my old WoW buddies to resub and experience Legion with me!

Personally Im excited about a lot of things in Legion; the artifact system, the new pvp talents, prestige levels for cosmetic rewards is an absolutely brilliant idea, lots of classes getting some super cool looking new animations which will hopefully make them feel a lot better to play. The zones look visually amazing, Sylvanas storyline seems to be going places (finally) and the updated crafting system looks really nice aswell, Im hoping it will be a legit way to spend time in-game. Most of all though; f-ing Demon Hunters. 10 years has passed and we finally get Demon Hunters. I still can't get over how cool it is, both their animations and their seemingly insane mobility with both specs have me hyped out of control for that class.

Oh right, fondest memory... It's a silly one but I'd probably say the time in cataclysm when me and my girlfriend who i'd JUST met did all of the midsummer brazier things in one sitting, both on our little goblins and we just had a blast flying around Azeroth and talking about stuff and games in general, that was kind of the moment we really bonded together, realising how much we liked each other you know. 6 years later we're still together and we both still remember that night and how fun we had together. It's kind of cheesy but that is by far my fondest moment in this game.

The biggest thing I am excited for is the changes to DemonLocks everything looks so amazing, and watching people play them in alpha, they just look like so much fun now. I main a DemonLock and I always felt like I was casting two-three spells and pretending I do damage.

I am very excited to explore this new land, as a newer player to WOW (only been playing for about a year now) I have thoroughly enjoyed searching for all the hidden easter eggs in the game. I love how with this game there is always something else to conquer, even players who I chat with who have been playing for years still have things they have yet to complete. One of my favorite things is how complex some of the achievements are, there are soo many different ones and the vastly different types are impressive. Its a well made game for people who enjoy getting lost in a new world and going on different adventures with friends. In the new expansion I look forward to the new transmog updates. That has always been a fun part of the game, searching for that one piece of TIER armor or looking for that certain weapon and then hoping the WOW gods are on your side and you roll a high number. All in all the new expansion will be a time when old and new players alike are all reset to a race to explore and discover it first. It will be a blast. Also a side note, this website is AWESOME and helps players like me explore and understand this game very well so thank you for that.

I am seriously looking forward to the Voidborn shadow priests! Purely from a look and fanatsy perspective, channeling the madness of the old gods to destroy demons?! Awesome.

I'm most excited for the upcoming changes to my favorite classes. Holy words for holy priests, survival hunter, and demonology warlock. So hyped for legion!

One of my fondest memories is completing the benediction quest on my priest. I felt so empowered by actually completing it. It took so much work to get it done, help from friends was necessary, but when it was done I had this unique item of incredible power.

The cloak in MoP and the ring this expansion had a similar feel but felt more gated by timing (can only get x per week) and rng played a major factor in how fast the requisites were obtained. Trading direct effort for patience and luck isn't necessarily my strong suit.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
