Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping that they will take the lessons of WoD into account as they move forward into Legion.  WoD started very strong and then fell flat - Legion is very much a chance at redemption.

I'm looking forward to trying the new 5 man dungeoning system taken from Diablo III - where things will get harder and harder and you have a chance at mythic raid equivalent gear.  That sounds 100% made for me.  My largest irritation with WoD was no valid 5 mans in the late game, everything funnels you to LFR, and I do not enjoy LFR, so where in previous expacks I would play alts once my raid progression was done, this time around I had no drive.  BRING ON THE 5 MANS! biggrin.png

To answer the other half - my fondest memory remains my guild's Illidan kill.  We were not the best guild, but we still cleared more than most.  We spent 4 full weeks of progression throwing ourselves at Illidan, and I was one of the flame tanks.  Got really good at dodging those eyebeams! pfffff

4 weeks of pushing hard with the same mistakes again and again until FINALLY the last pull of the night before 3.0 was to go live (nerfing everything) - like, literally 3 hours before servers were going to go down for the patch -  we got it.  Felt so good, felt more 'legitimate' than killing him the next week ever could have (it was realyl a massive nerf).  The GM was crying. lol

I'm looking forward to seeing such a lore-rich continent. I love the story of the game and really want to dig into that. I'm also looking forward to (and hoping for) a better end game that WoD had.

My fondest memories of WoW come from the Cataclysm days when I was really involved in a 10-man progression raiding group. My weren't #1 on the server by any stretch, but we downed the bosses as we could. There was nothing like the fun of downing a boss for the first time after 382 wipes on it.

I'm most looking forward to the artifact weapons, they all seem to have an awesome story behind them. On top of their story, they look amazing and the customization for them is awesome. Can't wait to unlock all that i can for it. I'm also a big Burning Crusade lover, so the return of Illidan is awesome and i cant wait to see what happens with that.

Really excited for Legion and the new changes to the Mage.  A little dissapointed in the way they changed the combustion for us but i'll set that dissapointment aside in hopes that the rest of the changes will improve the quality of play for us Mage lovers.

Being a huge fan of Vanilla and BC, I cannot wait to see the weapons of old come forth and wreak havoc!  The mighty Ashbringer will slay demons once more!

I also love that these beta giveaways aren't just "Watch this streamer 8 hours a day", so thank you for that opportunity.

I left WOW because my schedule just didn't allow me to play and going to school for 4 months made it hard to justify paying $15 a month on a game I wasn't playing. I am looking forward to legion to allow me to get back into the game, perhaps not right at launch, but soonish after and get more equal level and raid. Plus the lore changes, I love the story the Warcraft Universe has.

I loved the moment I finally got the Kharazan quest chain done and got to go inside for the first time. It made the place feel epic and even though I've raided it many times since that first time is still the best. Raiding in BC was painful though..I am glad that reduced all the stuff you had to have.

I am really looking to all the demon lore and warlock changes. (Demonology in particular) I am an role player. So all this demon lore and changes gives me a lot to work with. Especially Demonology changes, which when I was raiding, they said do not bring Demonology (Now my favorite spec will be viable.)

My fondest memories were the first day I started WoW, and played a Night elf priest. I didn't know about spells so I starting killing with my one handled mace for a few levels.

The other one was raiding Blackrock Foundry, and accidentally pulling Blast furnace while on the elevator to the Slagworks. We heard the dialog for pulling, and everyone went wtf? Then one by one we got teleported inside. While our healer was like "no no no no no no no no." In vent. We had a good laugh about that.

I'm mostly just looking forward to the artifact weapons and the transmog wardrobe. That first Ragnaros kill still has a special place in my heart.

I'm really looking forward to the artifacts coming in legon. I've always played a feral/guardian druid since bc, so I cant wait for the new artifact forms to choose from. Who does not want to be a frigging stone bear!

My best memory from World of Warcraft will always be my guilds first The Lich King HC kill. After months of struggle and sweat, we managed to beat him. I have never felt the same, with another end encounter since, will always be a fond memory of mine.

Very much looking forward to the shaman rework, finally my favourite class is important enough to get its own resource :-)

I started playing WoW again a few weeks after WoD release and i hadnt played since classic. It was very confusing to experience all the changes that wow had undergone. I still remember the days where nobody had money for his mount, where you had to pull 1 or 2 mobs even in low level instances, utilize CC to its maximum, it had a real sense of achievement to beat the Dungeons back in the day. Every Victory was glorious, i hope legion will make a step back towards the roots and reintroduce more challenging content.

Goodness, attempting to quantify and name what it is I enjoy most about the world of Warcraft is actually rather challenging. Namely because there's a number of things that make it great the massive community chief among them. That said: the thing that resonates the most is actually the story and lore. I can recall the first time I realized that my character was working to foil a hostile take over of Stormwind's monarchy when we got Lady Prestor to show herself to be a black dragon that had been working to destroy the human city from within. It was the first of many times that I felt the story I was involved in give me chills and remind me that I was part of this world along with my friends who later hunted the vile drake down in her lair.

So keeping with that I am looking forward to the story of Azaroth's third legion invasion. As a full time roleplayer I have literally built my character's backstory around the elimination of demons, she has the Legion to thank for loosing her father before her very eyes, and she has them to thank for the most hallow revenge of her life when she managed to hunt down the Satyr that killed him. I have made it Ashoke's greatest fear and greatest aim to be able to thwart any demonic incursion. So the idea of -finally- being able to take the next step in that journey and become a true blue demon hunter is enough to make me break sound barriers with squeals.

Long story short. I am eagerly awaiting the chance to learn the story of the Illidari, their methods and their goals, I want to learn more about the demonic worlds and realms the dark Titan has corrupted or destroyed. I want to read every bit of text, conversation, and nugget of story that Blizzard has Lovingly woven into their world because it inspires me. Not to mention seeing something happen with my favorite lore figure, Illidan, along with his novel's release. This expansion feels like it was tailor made to render me a raving fangirl once again.

First time poster here. I am looking forward to the class halls and the new PVP system in Legion. My fondest WoW memory was downing heroic Lich King (25man with 182 wipes) during its release, which was my favorite expansion. The one thing I miss about the previous expansions was the immersion of the world and people in general. With Warlords, I felt like I was playing a single-player game with occasional bumps with strangers when doing cross-realm stuff. That is why I am so eager to try out Legion to see what changes Blizzard has incorporated and to see if the community aspect has changed with Legion.

Wow has needed a revamp like what we are seeing in 7.0, I feel like its been a bit dry lately and I hope the future fixes this.

I'm so excited for legion! Been excited since before the release of the title to the next expansion. At first I was excited to go gnome hunter but now that I've seen animations via youtube, I think I will stay nightelf.

I'm excited for the new hunter setup, we finally get mongoose bite back yay! Hunters look like alot of fun in legion and I can't wait to try out all the other specs too! smile.png

Me personally, I have used icy veins pretty extensively. Just now created an account for the forums however I always refer here. The guides you have on here have helped me in becoming a great Blood DK tank for my guilds raid group especially after coming back from a 2 year hiatus, I needed the refresher. Recently, I started playing an elemental shaman and your guides hands down have helped me learn the class. What I look forward to in legion would be your guides helping me learn how to get the most out of my classes I play with all of the changes they are making. Appreciate all the help, and keep making great guides.

Hello everyone, I really enjoy 5man content and always have, so I am very excited for the new challenge mode system, I hope it will be fun, challenging, and rewarding.

I really loved the very beginning of cataclysm, 5man content was harder than before but my group had never problem farming it. It was a lot of fun because if someone failed on a crucial part of an encounter it was sometimes guaranteed a wipe, I miss that in 5man content.

MOP challenge modes were also a blast!

I admit I haven't been this hyped for an expansion since Wrath of the Lich King, though I did find enjoyment to some degree in all expansions! Legion, though, gives us soooo many things I've been wanting in WoW, most importantly that SWEET spider mount and all the Nightborne content--like the most amazing, darkest dungeon I think they've ever made--and slightly less importantly (I kid, I kid), the prestige system. I'm really glad they also adopted Diablo's transmog system so I can finally have bank space again.

I thought that was the best of what they were adding, but then I saw the new animations for classes and I got 1000% more hyped for the expansion. Seeing streamers play their favorite classes with all new combat movements was so epic, I can't wait to get into Alpha or Beta myself just to check out my favorite classes and see how much cooler they got.

At first I was uncertain of the artifact system but now that I've seen it laid out, it feels like they're giving us Pre-Cata talents back and that just makes me warm and fuzzy inside to the max. I miss being able to go down trees and pick abilities, as cheesy as that sounds (I was really looking forward to Path of the Titans), and it looks like we'll have that again. Plus every single druid bear form looks totally bossin' with the new skins, and makes me want to main my druid again since I've been working on him in WoD and learning how2cat thanks to this site (plus rolling a DH Tank for those awesome glaives they wield).

This expansion is lookin' to be the best ever, seriously and I can't wait to play it and I'm so glad I can check Icy Veins to keep up on all the new stuff that's released so satisfy my hunger.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
