Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am new to the Icy Veins community.  I recently returned to WOW after a 5 year hiatus.  I started playing WOW during the Burning Crusade (2007ish) until Cataclysm about the end of 2010.  I think advertisements about the new film and the upcoming Legion expansion are the reasons I came back.  Icy Veins has been a big help in re-familiarizing myself with game-play.

Icy Veins has helped me so much over the last few years with getting ready, geared and able to start raiding during each expansion since Wotlk, so much info on each class :) I can't wait for legion, most excited for the new continent and lore in each zone :D

I am looking forward to Legion for multitude of reasons. The main, to be honest, is the lore and the story. We will be finally returning to established lore, to established and well known enemies, and it will all sure be packed with lore (as the new WoW Chronicle suggests :3).

Then of course the demon hunters. I love trying out new stuff, so this is a big yes from me. Artifacts are keeping me cool, because to be honest, most of them are not really... that "legendary". But of course, there are outliars to this, like the Ashbringer. An artifact that I like the most got to be the Skull of the Man'ari for the demonology warlock - which also looks like it will be a load of fun again.

My fondest memory... uhm, that one is hard, after the 11 years I spent with WoW. I love coming to those two old raid videos from Cata an old guild mate did back when we were raiding. It just feels... surreal, to watch it after this time, the feels, you know. Anyway, I can't wait for all the new stuff Blizzard throws at us!

I'm most looking forward to seeing the "feel" of all the classes in Legion with the new talents, rotations, and artifact enhancements to come.  I'm a bit of an altoholic, so I like to try just about every spec of every class to experience gameplay from a variety of perspectives.  My main is a shaman, and I played Elemental in Cataclysm primarily, Enhancement in Draenor, and both are looking promising in legion - although I do miss moving lightning bolt casts.  RIP!

I now have a 3 month old son, so while my wife and I won't be able to raid or play for the same amount of time we had in the past, I'm still looking forward to the new content Legion will offer, especially the artifact experiences for each spec and the new Demon Hunter class.

My favorite moment playing WoW was probably when my guild killed Nefarian/Onyxia in BWD and we got our dark phoenix mounts.  That was a fun tier, and the progression was paced well for us.  The final fight was initially difficult for our group, but we made more progress each week until we finally downed him, then could kill him consistently.  Good times!

As I am role switching to a main spec healer, I cam very much looking forward to all of the QoL changes for Restoration Druids and Mistweaver Monks!  I am also one of the TradeSkillMaster developers, so of course I am also looking forward to the new "ranks" on crafting recipes as well as yet to be discovered new ways of making gold!

My favorite part of legion is caliming the Ashbringer and the other artifact and experience the mightiest lore in the Broken Isles. I can't wait to see the new dungeons. I joined WOW in MOP knowing nothing at all. Thanks to the support of the community now I know what to do!

I'm excited for everything in Legion, but mostly about the Artifacts.  I think it's a really cool concept to have, that way players aren't worrying about getting different weapons and not spending tons of gold on weapon enchants.  I also really like the fact that we're allowed to have all specs now instead of only have two and switching between them by yourself without have to go find a class trainer.

I'm most looking forward to feeling how the different playstyles have changed in Legion on my favorite characters and maybe even finding a new favorite. Mage and Shaman look really fun despite never having mained them in current content!

My favorite time in wow had to be during launch of vanilla. We were all so excited to embrace the race to 60 and spend hours and hours every day logged on drilling into the content to try to make it there first. My guild back on Llane at the time was the first guild to have 60s in it and we felt on top of the world!

I'm looking forward to the Artifact Weapons, Wardrobe System and the new PvP system. The weapons look awesome, especially the Fire Mage artifact weapon and being able clear out my void storage/bank from all the transmog that I have will be a huge relief. The new PvP system in Legion looks awesome, being able to fight opponents on even ground makes it real skilled based. Unlocking PvP talents through the honor level system is very interesting, and the ability to prestige once you hit max will definitely give me a lot of playability.

My fondest WoW moment would have to be back during Burning Crusade during Season 4, I was very into PvP during that time and I always had a group of friends that I would do WPvP with/or arenas for fun. One day a friend of mine asks me to help him and his guildie ( Alawna ) do some 3's because she was trying to get the Brutal Gladiator's helmet ( I think it had a 1700 rating requirement. )

So we do some 3's and we do get close to the rating she needed but we just couldn't do it, she was mostly a raider so she didn't really have the knowledge or the skill to really help us so we ended up stopping. So after those events Alawna and I would start talking more often and being more involved with each other and eventually we started dating online. Three months later we decide to want to meet each other irl and she was nice enough to buy herself a ticket to come visit me. We hit it off perfectly and have A LOT of things in common and I couldn't have asked for such a perfect woman. We have been together for close to 9 years now and if it weren't for WoW I would not have met my soulmate!

Many of you won't have been able to experience all of the new content that is being released, so we wanted to help. With the aid of Blizzard, we're giving away 200 keys to the upcoming beta; 100 of the keys will be given out this week, 100 in another giveaway next week. It's a pretty simple giveaway, you'll just need to post an appropriate comment on this post before the 29th of March to enter!

So what is an appropriate comment? We love hearing back from our readers and we love discussions, so why not mix the two and put together a giveaway! We want to know all about your opinions on Legion, as well as WoW itself. Let us know in the comments what you're most looking forward to, as well as your fondest memories in Warcraft history! Whether it's a guild moment, a personal moment or a moment in the game's story itself, we want to hear it.

I am most looking forward to being a bear with stone all over me IE the artifact stuff :)

Favorite memory in WoW is meeting my SO <3 while goofing off in a raid

I'm beyond excited for legion to launch, I think the artifact weapons will be an AMAZING addition to the game and I can't wait to try to get them on all of my characters. I'm also looking forward to the raids, raiding has always been my favorite thing to do in the game and the changes to priest healing are hopefully going to make it so fun. The lore is also something I'm hyped about. Sylvannas is my favorite NPC and seeing her have a big role in this expansion would make me immensely happy.

I started playing WoW at the end of vanilla when I was 8 or 9 years old, and have been hooked ever since. I'll never forget the first time I logged in and ran around the human starting zone like an idiot because I didn't know what i was doing. I've had so many amazing adventures in Azeroth. Meeting awesome friends through guilds and raiding, and feeling like I achieved something great when I'd clear a raid on the hardest difficulty. I get stupidly excited whenever a new expansion is announced and it was no different with legion. I can't wait to play it and make more amazing memories.

5 years and counting, nice work all of you in Icy-Veins. The things that I'm looking for most in Legion is the changes to the 3 warlocks spec.

As an avid WoW player since TBC I've loved to level multiple characters and do all the PVE content possible. I would love to get into the Legion Beta because I want to test the reworked classes, new dungeons/raids and see how the level experience is (From what I've heard/read It's gonna be pretty interesting with the whole go to whatever zone at whatever level thing.) Here's to hoping my RNG is on my side :D

I'm really hyped for all the class reworks. I've only ever really enjoyed playing Paladin, but these new spec designs have me excited for pretty much every class, even considering changing to fury warr.

I'm really looking forward to all of the new animation changes along with the new zones to check out. In previous expansions, I have always looked forward to the zones and how great of a job the art team always does. I'm also looking forward to the demon hunter class.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
