Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Im SUPER HYPED for Legion, I was getting some alts to level 100 to do the artifact quests as soon as legion drops but I was struggling deciding what my main was gonna be

The most appealing one is by far the Frost Death Knight, all that lore is just WOW. Cant wait :D

I'm super hyped for Demon Hunters as well as the Survival Spec for hunters. Survival Hunter was actually my first class so it's kinda nice to get a change of pace. The Class Order Halls look AMAZING, the art team really did a bang-up job on them.

The artifacts and new dungeons are probably the most interesting thing in Legion for me. My favorite moments in WoW are ones I've spent exploring the world with friends.

Hard to say just one thing that i am looking forward to but i guess i am more excited about all the lore and quest that are going thru legion...the lore is a main thing that i got into wow...i also enjoyed wod lore aswell, really awesome quests. If i have to pick the fondest memory it has to be when i first went into icc as a offtank(first time tanking a raid) and it was also my first time there, basically my first raid.I was so nervous to not screw things up, omg i was such a noob back then XD

I've been playing this game since 2005 when I was in 5th grade and I've had ups and downs as everyone has. My favorite moments have been downing amazing lore figures with some of my best friends from my childhood. Now we're all older and I'm leading a guild of my own full force into legion. The one thing that I absolutely can not wait for has been my dream since the beginning, playing a demon hunter. They were my favorite hero in Warcraft 3 and the class I've made rogues to imitate with the cursed vision of sargeres and wielding the warglaives of azzinoth and now my dream will finally come true. And this is just one of the many things I can't wait for in legion but definitely the most exciting for me.

I honestly can't wait for the artifact weapons in Legion. I feel like they'll bring a whole new feel to the class you're playing, and give your character some self-worth. Also, finding the BiS weapon is hard enough as it is.

Another thing is the leveling. I just cant wait to get out of my damn Garrison, lol. Most of my time spent logged in is sitting inside my garrison having other NPC's do things for me, while it was a good idea, it really isolates the player. I try to do everything with friends (whether it's mythic dunegons or HFC pugs). This really gets me excited for the new leveling system, of which I can honestly not wait for. No more stream lined questing! I just hope they designed it right so one zone isn't better than others.

Anyways, thank you for the opportunity! I'd love to get in early and check out how everything is working. With the WoD trailer, it left me feeling nothing, but with Legion, I'm actually excited! Thanks. <3

I'm really excited about artifact weapons and the lore they represent. New pet battle challenges, toys, mounts, a whole game of transmog items to collect as well. Plenty on my plate to do for quite a while.

With Legion, the lore, artifact quest-lines and Shaman class changes have me excited.

Raiding, dungeons, questing, and lore.  I've always enjoyed these things playing wow.  But it has never been just about the game.

Our guild downed H Archimonde only last month.  We may not be the best or fastest raiders. But we sure have a lot of fun doing it together.   I'm looking forward to the new challenge mode system, after the first few weeks of warlords no-one had reason to run heroics  Mythic dungeons have helped bring back that aspect of the game for us and I'm anticipating that the changes will keep dungeons relevant for longer.

As for fondest memories of the game? When I started playing (cata) I didn't know much  A random guild member swooped in from the sky and gave me a hand.  I do the same now for new players.

Looking forward to all the class changes, specifically druid. It sounds like it'll be refreshing. Also, looking forward to the new environments.

I'm probably most excited about Dalaran, just because of the nostalgia. But most features are actually really exciting and interesting. I'm also without a doubt rerolling to Demon Hunter so I can't wait to actually test them out and get a feel for them.

I've been playing since mid-BC and yet I've never experienced a raid while it was relevant.

So I'm hoping to be able to put enough time in this next expansion to be able to do at least 1 raid as soon as it comes out.

Also I'm really excited for pirate rogues.

You know... I'm actually hyped for something different than just one thing. Because when you think about it, in previous expansions there was one area that was good and the rest went down the drain. For example, having good PvE hits the PvP hard every recent expansion because of all the focus put into PvE and not in PvP. Legion though.. They are literally putting out content for every single player. You being a pve player, pvp player, straight up casual, lore guy, rp guy, anything. That's what I love about Legion and the direction they are taking it to.

I'm excited for the new PvP system. But I'm kinda nervous of what kind of ability pruning blizz is doing. I do not like the new combat (probably because I don't like pirates). And I like the current shadow dance for sub not to big of a fan of the new one. And as for resto druids I don't think their new mastery fit their current role in a raiding team as it does now.

I am looking forward to the new class halls, class quests and playing the demon hunter! I really enjoyed the quests that Blizzard has made since Cataclysm and the dungeons in each expansion. They are all really unique.

I'll be curious to see how warrior tanking plays out since blizzard is switching back to 'generate rage through damage' model. Not too confident that'll play out well based on BC results.

I'm very much looking forward to the rework coming to Mistweaver monk. I do mythic raiding on one right now, and I certainly will miss it, but it's always fun trying something fresh and completely new.

My favorite moment would be me doing Heroic Butcher progression way back at the beginning of highmaul as an Arcane mage. He does a knockback that interrupts spell casts, and I was just starting my Evocation cast as he did it because I wasn't paying attention, and my mana pool was extremely low afterwards and I knew i wouldn't do enough damage to push the enrage timer. So, trying to be quick on my feet, i conjured mana food mid-pull, used invisibility, and tried to eat it to re-gain mana. Little did I know, you can't drop combat like that in highmaul, and my raid leader was also watching me and pointed it out once he saw that I created 20 mana strudels >_>

We ended up laughing about it later, though. Good times.

I am super psyched to see what Legion will bring for us to explore, create, destroy, and experience.

The artifacts seem like a very cool addition, but with such additions as Ashbringer, it makes me wonder what might happen in subsequent expansions - like will we continue on with upgrading these artifacts? That might get stale and be boring. On the flip side, however, will we just discard it unceremoniously and move on to something else? That seems like a sad inevitable fate for such a significant item. I wonder what everyone else thinks?

Also, has Icy Veins ever considered doing Challenge Mode guides? I recently got into those, and it has been a blast. We didn't really mind coming up with our own strategies, but at times we had to build on others. It would be nice to have a reliable, centralized source. I can't wait to see what Legion may bring in the form of new challenges.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
