Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm really looking forward to the changes in the PvP systems. These PvP-only talents seem like a good way to finally balance pvp without having to worry about pve. But the pvp in MoP was in my opinion still the best. So many good balanced skills and abilities that made the game seem much more enjoyable

There is so much that I am looking forward to in Legion! I'm a sucker for redemption stories and am hoping that Illidan plays a key role in saving Azeroth from the Legion in the end of the expansion. After everything he has been through in his life, he deserves it.

My favorite memories from Wow would be all of the hours spent with my guild, be that raid progression, pvp,or simply just hanging out in ventrilo.

I've been playing wow as a tank since cata and I have all tank classes at 100. So I'm looking forward to check out new talents and differences for tank specs and decide what class I will play in Legion as my main. Also I want to try out demon hunter.

I'm really looking forward to all the pvp changes, I've allways been casual in regards to rated pvp, but with the way Legion is shaping up I'm feeling like really pushing for rating. One of the changes that excites me the most is how they are splitting the end of season rewards to the top % within your own faction, so now there are bound to be many more horde players to queue up with. :>

I believe going forward, WoW would continue on it's path to attract more casual players and try to make it more accessible. Currently they're trying to reboot the franchise by kind of retelling the story from start to finish again with the famous characters. This way new players would understand the lore and old players will still continue to play for nostalgia feelings. I strongly believe WoW would continue to dominate the MMORPG genre and keep alive for several years from now.

My most fond memories are from SoO era. I started playing back in 2012 with Dragon Soul being the end content. Didn't play super serious but enjoyed the game a lot. In MoP I started looking for serious guilds and started raiding the hardest content in game. I found really great and fun friends and the raiding night were never a chore. I had lots of free times to chat around and have fun in guild chat and still continue to progress through content. I would never forget the visually stunning feel of Mists and the fun friends and moments I keep from that time. With life keeping up with me and being busy with work and studies I unfortunately never got to find a suitable guild for myself and never found the same feeling in wod.

Legion would be the make it or break it for lots of Old players. Lots of nostalgia factors and great promises. If it turns out to be the exp they're hyping it up to be, I'm sure it would be one of the greatest expansion wow would ever see. Artifact weapons, Rift Dungeons, Scaling content, Balanced PVP and ....

I, myself am Looking forward to artifact weapons and visual aspect of the game, end game content and pvp. I pre-ordered and activated the game a week after it was available for purchase and really would like to see hands-on how it feels.

Thank you all,

Amirhossein

I am REALLY looking forward to more class distinction in Legion.  I feel that ever since Wrath, the Shaman class in particular has been getting more and more watered down and I'm finding that more and more the difference between playing an Enhancement Shaman and a rogue, or an Elemental Shaman and a Mage are coming down to buttons you push.  There was a time when the class lent utility to a raid, where gameplay and class style had flavor and I'm hoping we'll see a return to that in Legion.

As far as favorite moments, there are so many.  The first time my vanilla guild ran Mara, after we downed Princess I gave everyone Water Walking and we ran around on the lake for a bit before jumping off the waterfall.  Never occurred to us, of course, that with Water Walking the pool at the bottom would be like concrete and I wiped us all.  The profound joy of my first epic drop.  The first time I saw the failed world tree in Grizzly Hills.  Finally hitting 60.  Exploring forbidden places like Mt. Hyjal pre-Cata and the Kara Crypts.  The Ahn'Qiraj opening questline and server event showing us all the true meaning of massively multiplayer!  I'm really psyched to see what Legion's going to bring us!

As with every expansion before it, I'm particularly looking forward to the lore in Legion. Illidari, artifacts, the Naga, the ancient capital, the Emerald Dream... I can't wait to read more about all those things!

I am super excited to see how Resto Shaman Artifact traits and talents synergize in a raid environment. Along with the PvP system which I will be diving into on my warrior for awhile.

I'm really looking forward to testing out the quality of life changes and improvements. I'm also looking forward to changes to Holy Priests as I've been wanting to main spec holy reliably again!

I'm looking forward to the class revamps and the interaction with the artifact. People always complain when things are changed but it provides an opportunity to freshen up the rotation of your favorite class and to make other classes interesting. I'm one of those who will probably not be playing my current class in Legion because I dislike the changes (Death Knight) but I'm really looking forward to the way enhancement, ele, and balance play in Legion.

My favorite memory is my first Rag kill in Vanilla. It was my first big raid experience and so very satisfying. Hooked me on raiding for the next decade and still going strong.

I have fond memories of the Benedictus quest from Vanilla. The idea of having a long quest chain to obtain a highly sought after weapon began many many years ago. One of the most memorable weapons many people know of. It was some one-handed sword covered in lightning... Oh wait.. What's that??... Did somebody say Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker? I love how they have continued to expand on that idea in each expansion. I like that they are returning to class specific legendaries that also incorporate in more lore than ever before. Keep up the good work Bliz!!

There are a few things I'm looking forward to in legion. First of all is the prospect that PvP will finally be able to be balanced more independently from PvE. Second is the outfit system which will clear up my bag/bank space. One thing that I'm apprehensive about is further ability pruning, hopefully it results in just quality of life improvements as they intend and doesn't serve to lower the skill cap even more. On another note love the somewhat new layout of the site guys at icy veins, it's much more intuitive! Cheers!

I have wanted to wield The Ashbringer since vanilla, and now with Legion my dream will be realized, but this time Blizz has made everything look so appealing I think I am equally excited to wield The Silver Hand. I am very excited with the direction Blizz is taking holy paladins.

side note: Wardrobe Hype!

I mean... Who ISN'T looking forward to Legion?!  I can't wait to see what this new crafting system is all about!  Crafting, collecting, and achievements are things I love in all games.  So to go with collecting, I also cannot wait for the transmog/wardrobe system!  I want to go back through all the content again with a new purpose!  Maybe even try some new character classes to get all of the different armor.

No specific moment to post about, but the general love of being a part of a guild.  I used to be in a 10man guild.  We only had 10 people in the guild, so any time someone was gone we had to go find some random person to join the raid for the night.  Thankfully, most people were there almost all of the time.  We were committed and loved every second of it.  I really miss that.  I may not play WoW with any of them anymore, but I am still friends with most of them on Facebook!

Hello all!

So my thoughts/opinions on Legion are optimistic. I'm thrilled to see each individual spec have its own artifact weapon and talents that really bring back class fantasy. One of my personal favorites, even though I don't play my rogue too often, is the Assassination artifact daggers. Aside from being Garona's own daggers (super cool), the accompanying talents that deal with poisons and bleeds are so cool to me. I know for certain that my rogue will be one of my first alts, just so that I can hurl poisoned daggers at my foes!

As for my favorite memory from this wonderful world of warcraft, I like to take it back to Cataclysm with the addition of Rated Battlegrounds. At the time, I was playing on a pretty average server, Draka (shoutouts to my boys). The server as a whole wasn't known for its pvp, so my friends and I had a lot of work to do to get together an RBG team. We gathered up what we could and put in countless games together as a group, growing together and forming great friendships. The memory that I always keep with me is where we would meet in between RBG queues. Back in Cataclysm there was a "secret" room in one of the rock pillars by the zepplin towers in Org. We would do the little jump hack to get through the wall and fly up into the rock into this little room with a candle on the floor and the initials W. K. M. on the wall. I believe I read that this was a memorial to a Blizzard employee who had passed during Cata's creation, but to our group, we had to come up with our own meaning for the initials. Someone suggested it and it just stuck... The room would forever be known as the "We Know Mario" room. From that day on, as new members joined the group, we would induct them into the room with a special ritual, and give them the secret meaning to the letters.

Time has passed since then, but I regularly keep in contact with many members of that RBG team. One of them I would consider to be my best friend that I've ever met through WoW, and for that, I'm forever grateful to the friendships this game and this community have helped me develop.

Thanks for the read guys!

Far and away most looking forward to the new lore in Legion, especially in regards to the artifact weapons. I'll always be a little bitter at the location of Suramar relative to the Well of Eternity though. It was west of the Well! West!

My fondest memories in WoW would have to be raiding Karazhan in BC with my guild. It fell apart at the end of BC and most people stopped playing. Miss those guys.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
