Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

This is incredibly awesome of you guys to do this, and I wish good luck to all who enter the giveaway. I'm incredibly excited for Legion, as it brings along changes to the PvP system, some new playstyles for my favorite class, Mage, and we finally get to finish off Gul'dan!

I think the thing I'm most looking forward to is the lore! As a massive lore nerd, I can't wait to see what direction they take Illidan and how they deal, in game, with the retconning of lore they've done in Chronicles. There's going to be potentially tonnes of awesome lore moments with everything going on in the Alliance and Horde, as well as other characters they've said maybe making appearances.

---

My favourite moment in WoW, without a doubt, has to be the first time I ever killed Lei Shen normal in Throne of Thunder. It was the first time ever I raided with a proper guild group, and some of the people I raided with are my friends to this day. Not much in WoW has come close to the exhilarating feeling of downing your first ever proper raid boss!

Looking Forward To:
Getting back to the WoW lore we love... Not that Draenor wasn't a decent story, but It's time to go back to mashing the burning legion!

Fondest Memory:
The Friendships; I know it's cheesy but this game has done the most incredible thing it can which is bringing people together with a common interest. I've had more close WoW friends in the last 12 years than I can count and every one of them made this game incredible, and full of lasting memories.

Thanks Blizzard! And thanks for the give-away Icy Veins!

I am excited for legion looking forward to the challenge mode dungeons and demonology warlocks.  The changes to professions also look like a lot of fun.

I'm mostly looking forward to the story and how they're pushing the story forward. A pet peeve of mine is that in previous expansions/stories, they'll push "this" small aspect of the story, with a small list of characters. This can cause other characters to be neglected for YEARS and storylines abandoned.  With Legion, it looks like they're doing something I can only compare with Cata, in that they're pushing EVERYTHING forward. We're getting everything: pushing forward old friends from Honor Hold, Northerend, the remnants of the Scourge, the elementals, building on the Titans, Old Gods, the Council of Tirisfal, the Guardians from the past, the leylines in the Nexus, the Dragonflights, Vykrul, Valkyr, it's just everything I've always wanted Story-wise. Legion has an all star cast and I'm really glad we're getting back to the fundamentals, and I hope we mostly stay in Azeroth from now on.

I am extremely hopeful for legion as I see a lot of potential to open the game up to new players and reinvigorate veteran players. I am probably most looking forward to the new 5 man challenge mode dungeon system as an alternative source of end game gear and second most anticipated thing will be the new raids and lore. If I could hope a change is brought about that isn't announced it would be some sort of a flexible or alternate raid size for mythic raiding. Fixed raid size makes mythics super difficult on a low pop server such as mine.

Favorite WoW moment is more a collection of thinking back on all the progression kills on major bosses that I have shared with the same guild over 10 years. I can think back to our first time killing Ragnaros in Vanilla MC and how exciting it was to conquer a massive boss that we had worked our way up to for months. Oh and I can't forget the progression kills where only 1 last person is standing manages to land the killing blow on the boss. I know standard nostalgia trip but its really the best memories I have thinking back.

Hope to see you all in Legion!

I simply can't wait for the transmog system overhaul. My bank and bags are screaming for air. So much bag space to be had once Legion comes out. Can't wait!

I realy want to see what Legion is going to bring interms of diversity and in terms of end game, I wan to see if the artifact system has enough to do for you to let people acctuly play for hours and hours to just get that 1 upgrade you want!

Further I have never Pvpt but from what I heared about the new honor system it is better for the people that almost never or never pvp and let then be introduced.

And at last I want to see if Legion is worth buying and is worth my time.

The one thing I'm looking forward to the most... Hard question to answer and not double guess later on but I'll say the ability to play more then 2 specs, Right now i'm raiding with 2 guilds on 1 character and not being able to play that 3rd spec has been a small issue to the point I even considered saving multiple UI setups and to switch addons loaded and run to the trainer multiple times a week, I've always like the idea of filling the role required rather then staying in 1 spot keeps the game interesting.

And to choose my favorite memory? that's like choosing a favorite child... but a moment that will always stand out was getting a realm best in Mogu'shan Palace, with only 1 person alive, the shouting and laughter as it looked so close will be forever ingrained.

Unholy is looking really fun in Legion. Although a few changes to mobility would be welcome. I am actually all for less mobility if it means we get some cool mitigation or more death grip usage.

I personally am really looking forward to the class revamps that are coming in Legion.

My fondest moment in WoW would probably have to be when a couple of friends helped me grind out a few more wins in 3v3 arena to get the kodo mount for my Shaman. They were awesome :)

I'm most looking forward to the leveling experience through legion. That is my fondest memory, leveling my first character. Seeing all the zones for the first time and encountering characters I knew from the Warcraft RTS. Can't wait to dive into the new story!

I am excited for the lore Legion will bring to the game! I can remember back when the boat from Darkshore went to Menethil Harbor. Back when I was a level 14 I wanted to go to Ironforge with a friend of mine. So we took the boat from Darkshore to the Wetlands (a level 30 something area at the time). We had planned on running to IF. I always run first and my friend was a Hunter. I remember her Typing "Prannet noooooooooo" She had seen on her minimap my poor dot agro all of the red dots (representing the Wetlands gators) in the vicinity. The alligators swarmed on me as she ran unharmed by. A memory I look back on and laugh about. It was a real drag... a corpse drag that is.

I am really looking forward to the way they are re-doing my spec (brewmaster monk), hoping that we find ourselves closer to our roots as an avoidance tank rather than the self-healing/absorb tank we are right now.

I am also really interested in seeing all of the class and spec-specific content they're making for the artifacts and how the world scaling works. The dungeon previous I've seen so far also look fantastic and I'm really excited to see the new content. :D

I still remember my most memorable moment in wow; the first time my guild and I cleared Siege of Orgrimmar on Heroic (current mythic) while it was current! Solo healing Heroic Garrosh was so satisfying and to have downed it in a reasonable amount of time made it even better. Buuuuuut I never did get the mount :(. Oh well, I'm looking forward to seeing what Legion has to offer! SO HYPED

First of all cheers for the giveaway, you have always been one of the best Blizzard related websites.

What i am looking forward to in legion is the new lore and stories be it the everlooming threat of the legion, the vrykul and the titans or finally seeing the Emerald Nightmare.

The class revamps i also really awesome. Seeing Blizzard fullfilling the class fantasies they have been working towards is truly great.

I am also happy with the PVP changes making the game more dependant on skill instead of just gear.

The raiding will probably be great too considering we're going to the freaking Emerald Nightmare!

All in all i think this will be one of the better Expansions so far. It would be awesome to explore it in the Beta

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
