Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

One of my fondest memories in wow was in wrath when i first tried an alliance character and hated it. however i was going through Ragefire Chasm and one of my party members was a night elf and accidentally jumped off the side to do a back-flip straight into the lava. That made me laugh for quite a while. Aside from that, i can't wait for the unholy death knight overhaul in legion! Although i still play one now and i really enjoy the unholy death knight rotation and gameplay as it is, i still look forward to any changes or buffs to my class. c:<

What i look forward to most in legion is the awesome world content, and the grindyness or legionaries/artifacts kind of brings me back to BC days when you always had something to and always had something to work towards.  The crafting system looks awesome as well as the prestige system.  My fondest memory of wow was when i had my own raid guild and finally killing 3 drake sarth void walker tanking it after wiping on it for multiple raids nights.

I'm really looking forward to the artifacts, I think this will be the most wanted stuff in a player's hands and I'm looking forward to see how the in-game story will develop with all the raids and stuff.

Ultimately, I'm ready to see the full potential of the artifact weapons, as well as upgraded fighting animations. It's been desperately needed.

What I'm more exited about in Legion

I'm super exited for the lore and new cinematics, like I'm most likely going to prop my feet on the desk and watch them while eating popcorn, since they're always that good!

I'm also excited about the pvp- only talents and the artifacts!!

What I've most enjoyed while playing in the past

This is a though one since there has been a lot I've enjoyed. But I guess I'll have to say the most enjoyable thing is how the game has been changing and evolving since vanilla, how the talents and attacks have changed, how the attack animations have changed, and how I'm sure it'll keep changing for the better... Just like Icy-veins :)

I am really looking forward to upgrading the Artifact weapons like the old skills were setup. One of my best wow memories was when you had the three skill trees and had to walk to learn your new moves. I am HYPED can't wait for Legion!

Personally I can't wait to see if the changes to aff lock actually work. I really dislike the whole dots do next to no damage without MG/Drain soul and hope to enjoy the dot based playstyle again.

The one thing I'm looking forward to in Legion is finally getting my hand on the Ashbringer. I have been playing a paladin since Burning Crusade and enjoyed the little hints throughout Vanilla and Burning Crusade of the Ashbringer's origins. While I was saddened I didn't get to wield it in Wrath of the Lich King, or get the corrupted version before it was removed. I am happy I will finally get the artifact after so long.

I'm truthfully most excited for Gnome hunters. Ever since I started playing I have always wanted to see them in the game, and now it's finally becoming a reality. Lilwheat the survival hunter comin' at ya hot! Plus, artifact weapons are a nice touch.

First congrats to Icy Veins on 5 year anniversary! This is my go to sure for guides and class information. So thank you for the hard work and dedication you have put into the site.

I have been playing wow since day one with my husband. Its hard to pick one moment from so many to pick from. I think one of the most memorable was the first time we cleared believe WAY back in vanilla. I got my night elf cleric helm and robe that night. It was a very good time back then. I am looking forward to legion to the new class, exploring the new lands and the new quests.

Thanks for the consideration! Have a great day!

I am most excited about the artifact questlines, because I'm a lore nerd and I'm planning to do every single one when I can. I'm even prepping with a full stable of 100s so I'm ready at launch. It's one of the things I'm most looking forward to.

My fondest memories of playing WoW are doing full dungeon and raid groups with guildies, while leveling and at max level. The funniest inside jokes happened, from my gnome healer getting literally punted out of an instance, to doing mount runs in the troll dungeons, and finishing our first heroic Garrosh "kill" with just two people left alive and the priest healers having strategically sacrificed themselves to keep the tanks alive. I enjoy the game on its own, but having a fantastic group to play it with makes it a hundred times better.

Im looking forward to the new pvp system, really hoping they go through with that one idea where you can join multiple guilds. Would be nice for small guilds.

One of my favorite things in the past was the warrior ability called "throwdown" Just seeing other players get knocked on their ass was the best thing ever. But it was axed and i miss it more than some dead relatives.

Also when my small guild of 5 people formed a coalition of other guilds to kill this horde raid that was camping the pvp vendors on Spine, we chased them to their vendors and then tried a shrine raid but got wiped. Good times though.

I dont know why im typing so much, the winners are gonna be random.

I am super excited for Legion in part because it's the first expansion for me as a wow player since I first started playing in WoD. I'm excited for the "release day" excitement where everyone logs in and is exploring all the new content. I got a taste of this in-game energy with the 6.2 Tanaan patch so I'm looking forward to that, along with the ability to choose how and where you level as zones will scale to you. Love the concept of random legendary drops out in the world and of course the new transmog system!

I'm excited to exploring the new areas as well as playing a Demon Hunter. My most memorable time in game was playing a young night-elf on Suramar. I met another Young Night Elf Named Raging one and we adventured together in Vanilla Wow. He was in the service, I believe the Army. I often wonder about him now. If you see this comment I hope your well! Looking forward to the new expansion and new adventures :)

I'm excited for many things in Legion, but what has kept me really enjoying and playing this franchise for so long has been the lore that comes along with it as well as the amazing raids that Blizzard comes up with and the encounters that take so much planning to get down.

After my long long wait, I am excited to finally be able to bring down Darkness Incarnate, Gul'dan! I look forward to fighting him with my first and old raiding guild. They have helped me enjoy the game as I never have before. We are by no means high end, but I enjoy being able to take down bosses with them just the same.

Really looking forward to playing a Demon Hunter and exploring the new zones and reading all the storylines and quests.

Also looking forward to the new PvP system cause I really enjoyed PvP in the old days but then the PvE trees messed up too much in PvP and there were too many abilities and cc in MoP and WoD, PvP is stale so hoping this new system with talents and prestige brings a fresh wind to the game.

Good memories about Wintergrasp and generally WotLK PvP and raids, hoping they can bring back that quality in Legion and hope i can win a key here to test the quests and dungeons.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to the class revamps-- A lot of specs are getting interesting tools; I'm just hoping the changes do not over-simplify the heart of the spec.  Most dps classes should have a "easy to learn, hard to master", in my opinion, and from looking at Legion changes, I'm worried that Blizzard is moving away from that.  I mained a Blood DK in WoD and their talents are all over the place with very little synergy, for example.  I have a lot of faith that they can adjust things and get it all in line, however.  I look forward to getting Beta access and building some serious theorycrafting spreadsheets for a few specs.

The PvP talents/prestige idea is also a good move on Blizzard's part.  Here's to hoping balance comes easier with this separation!

When asked about some of my favorite moments in WoW, I have two simple answers. These answers consist of times in which I had a friend visiting and they were able to collect a mount that they were trying to collect for some time while they were playing WoW at my house.

1st: A friend of mine started getting into the PvP scene during Burning Crusade. He was BG'ing mostly, saving up honor points to buy gear and get better. He played a Tauren Hunter at the time. Once he was finished farming BG's out the wazoo, he finally decided that he wanted to purchase one of the obtainable Honor Horde Mounts. He decided to get the Raptor mount, awesome! We were playing side by side, his PC next to mine, and I was able to see the purchase. I wanted one too! (I have since purchased one!) After purchasing the mount, he immediately used his Hearthstone to one of the factions inn's in Shattrath, the Aldor. This faction's "base" is raised off of the main portion of the city on a cliff, accessible via a lift. He mounted outside the inn and trotted towards the lift. He didn't stop. Immediately after purchasing this AWESOME mount, he killed himself on it by jumping off of the lift. He didn't intend on doing that, but I must say I have never laughed so hard during my time playing this game. RIP Zach, your in game and IRL shenanigans are missed dearly bud, Rest EZ.

2nd: Another friend of mine was after the Time-Lost Proto Drake. I'm sure many of you know the rarity of this mount, and the countless hours some people put into farming this ugly thing. My friend and I play Horde on Illidan, and for those of you that don't know, it is a massively populated server. Long story short, after farming the mount a few days on Illidan, he decided that he wouldn't be able to get the mount on Illidan, so he server transferred to a much less populated server. From that point he spent (In real life...) the next week (straight) farming the mount. He flew and flew and flew all over the Storm Peaks in search of the drake. One night we decided to hang out, and again, PC next to PC I was able to see an unforgettable moment. We found it! (Thanks to one of those Rare-spawn Add-ons) and we flew to the drake. Uh oh, these was another person, a Tauren DK flying close by! We thought we weren't going to get it, but thankfully my Belf Rogue friend was able to fly in and get the 1st-hit insta-kill! The jump of joy, the laughter, and the adrenaline were all flowing. We couldn't believe how close we were to not getting the kill. Out of respect for his hard work, time, and dedication to farming the mount, I gladly passed on the roll, giving him the mount he had been working so hard for. In turn, I believe he spent well over 100 hours farming the mount.

It is moments like these, with friends, both IRL and in game that make WoW so fun and enjoyable. I know that there are many other moments, like killing end-content bosses, achieving high PvP ranking's, and so much more in this game that bring all of us WoW players together.

I am looking forward to legion and how I can create more memories with guildies, friends, and other players around the world. I like the way Blizzard is moving forward, and I'm glad to be a part of the Blizzard "community."

I am so excited about this xpac , with all the new features, my favorites are the artifacts and the diablo3ish adventure/bounty system. I hope this will breathe new life into wow after WoD, very excited for a chance to get in early and see the amazing new world blizzard has created. :)

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
