Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I cannot wait to try out Demon hunter. I'm not sure how they'll be in PvP, but they've got me excited. Rogues look pretty nice as well. I miss my personal golden days of PvP in WotLK

It's hard to pick a favorite WoW moment. My first Razorgore kill definitely makes the list. I was a Warlock, and my fairly casual guild had been stuck on him for a couple weeks. We made it past the egg phase and had done a reasonable amount of damage to him when the tank went down. We only had one character capable of a battle rez, and it was on cooldown for another 5 minutes. I was second on the aggro list, and Razorgore came barreling straight towards me. So I did what any self-respecting raider would do, and ran like a little girl. For 5 minutes. I somehow managed to run figure 8's around the two platforms without getting hit long enough for us to battle rez the tank and finally kill the boss. Vent was going crazy in a way that only screaming nerds can - definitely a great moment.

Another favorite moment was when I was on the same Warlock farming Nature Resistance gear in Mara for AQ with my friend, a Dwarf Warrior. We had hit our instance limit and were standing outside waiting for our timer to expire when a rogue from our guild ran past us, backed up, turned, and looked at us. Then in guild chat, the rogue said "So I'm outside of Mara and Mord and Gads are just standing here like fucking Jay and Silent Bob". I laughed at that for quite a while.

There are two main things I'm looking forward to in Legion. The first is exploring the Broken Isles. I loved the parts of the WC3 campaign that took place there, and it'll be fun to explore the area in 3D.

The second is actually getting to play it when it launches. I've played every WoW expansion, but due to life circumstances I've always bought the expansions when they're winding down. I've either been taking a heavy class load in college, getting married, having one of my three kids, or various other things. However, life has finally settled down and I'm really looking forward to experiencing raids and other content when it's fresh and current for the first time since vanilla.

Thank you for the opportunity to win a beta key!

Something that Blizzard did really well the last expansion, was questing. Seeing the new information about how the free-form questing will be in Legion, makes me really excited as a (mostly) for story player. Also it will make it really flexible to play with my friend.

Hnnng.

I'm looking forward most to wielding Ashbringer. I've been giggling like a little schoolgirl ever since I found out this was happening.

I'm also excited for the end boss of the expansion, whenever it happens.

And for Dalaran. Hell yes, Dalaran.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming transmog changes the most, at least out of the basic new features. The class halls and new legendary system will also hopefully add some character back to the world that has been long gone with Garrisons being the new hangout spot

My WoW experience started out in Vanilla back in 2005. I was young then, I'm now 25 and WoW is still a big of a part of my life as it has ever been. I have never had the opportunity in my 11 years playing WoW to take part in a Beta test so that is something I would thoroughly appreciate.

I'm especially excited for Legion due to the streamlining of many classes. I think this will add to the end game experience as a whole, taking the concentration slightly more away from messing up your rotation to what's actually going on in the game.

I'm feeling extremely bored and exhausted playing the content / classes in WoD now and I am very much looking forward to playing something new.

I feel like things have been going WAY downhill over the years since Cata, and while I still enjoy aspects of the game, I'm definitely not playing daily like I used to.  If anything, I've fallen into maybe once or twice a month.  Seeing all the new things in Legion and seeing how they hired a larger team gives me a lot of hope that this will be the expansion to get things back on track.  The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is the class halls and weapons.  I've been waiting for something to make my classes feel more unique and interesting.  Here's hoping I get a chance to try it out before release

I think Legion is going to be a step in the right direction, a sign that the developers are listening to the community. I'm stoked for the new transmog system, the new dungeons, and most of all, the artifact weapons plus class halls.

A moment I look back at in fondness is the struggle I went through to obtain green fire on my warlock. It took many, many tries and it helped me get a grip on using the class right. When I finally defeated Kanrethad and obtained the green fire, I don't believe I had ever felt more accomplished.

I'm excited to see if Legion will end up like Wotlk in terms of pvp. A lot of the abilities have been pruned but hopefully the devs will bring back iconic abilities before launch (Mage armors, Warlock Armors, Earth Sheild baseline, etc.)

Legion is wonderful, what is there not to like as there are tons of wonderful stuff being added. I love the new BoO (Base of Operations) being added, I love the new class as Blizzard must've read my mind, they knew exactly what kind of class I wanted : A fast hasteful (Not hateful, hasteful! And yes, I know that is not a word) beautiful very unique hero class! Oh, and do not get me started on the new weapon artifacts! What is one of the key things I like about it? Well, I finally won't get picked on for having the crappiest of weapons! They're making every class a unique experience and I know it won't be bland once replaying due to different storylines! Oh and all the lore! Yes, how can one forget the lore? The lore is amazing to the weapons, I have been DYING for Ashbringer, Doomhammer, Thas'dorah, etc.. I also cannot forget the class changes that some people think are minor, like gnomes can be hunters! The first thing I did when I started customizing my gnome was to see if it could be a hunter, but I was extremely disappointed. But now they CAN be hunters, along with a new twist that they share with the gnomes and experienced engineers, the mechanical pets! (As I was writing the last paragraph I realized how much I forgot to mention, but I do not want to make this a nuisance to read!)

I should stop all this rambling about Legion, as it will get nowhere. Now, I need to talk about the real truly magnificent thing, the structure to it all : WoW. And how much I love WoW unconditionally, no matter how lonely it can get on some servers in some places, I love it. What are some of the key things I love about WoW? Raiding! I love raiding, but if you ask me to tank, I will certainly not tank as it is not in my wheelhouse (Even though my only lvl 100 is a tank, though it cannot even tank a lvl 90 dungeon). I am also getting into PVP, though I do not have any good gear for PVP on any of my characters. All out, no matter what my obnoxious brother will say, WoW is amazing and always will be.

Been playing since WoW since May 2005. My main has always been a healing priest! My first love has always been holy, and I am so excited for the changes! Add to that the new transmog system! Titles for transmogs! New pets! Would love for once to be in beta!

Just looking forward to play with my guild tbh.

My guild cleared 13/13M just right before christmas, and when we heard the rumours of every 13/13 guild getting the alpha we all got quite excited... And we all got in, except for me and another hunter .. :p

I'd really like to test out the raids with my guild so we might have a chance at a better world rank, and I'd also like to test several classes just to find out if I want to stay with my mage or not.

Looking forward to making more fond memories in Legion. Excited for the class overhaul for hunter (all I play) and well everything really. New toys and achievements yay.

Started playing when servers launched and I'll never forget when me and two other people went running into horde territory one day (of course under leveled) and came upon our first Horde sighting. An Orc named Periwinkle, who waved to us and disappeared into the woods. It was oddly extremely exciting.

I am excited about demon hunter's double jump. New challenge modes seem like a nice twist from before. DOUBLE JUMP!

I am really looking forward to the new pvp system. I am though, kinda scared about the new class changes, because some of them seems kinda dull, and boring now.

I hope that will change, only time will tell :)

I'm a collector. I'm planning to use my beta time finding all the mounts, pets, achievements, recipes and artifact weapon skins. Eventually I'll get every weapon for every spec. Plus, survival hunter may be my new main. I'd love to get in there and try it out.

I really like the idea of the prestige pvp system and the artifact weapons, but what I'm most exited about is demon hunters, I really like the idea and I can't wait.

I am sooooo excited for Legion and I can't even explain what I'm most excited for! I can't wait for the new transmog system! ( I may have a slight obsession) plus the artifact weapons makes me wanna play every class and every spec to see the story behind all of them. The pvp system is gonna be epic and I can't wait to have more to do than just grind for gear and rating. Needless to say Legion can't get here fast enough!

I have so many epic moments in WoW so it's hard to pick a favorite moment but the one that stands out most was when I met my husband! I had just started playing and didn't really know anyone. I ended up in a guild and didn't really talk too much. Well I was at the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles and I got ganked and the rogue wouldn't leave me alone. I sent out a cry for help in my guild and a pally answered and came to my rescue. Long story short we're still playing WoW together after 6 years.

As a shaman, I'm most looking forward to the class overhaul we seem to be getting for elemental and enhance. It's been a long time coming and while I'm not overly impressed about getting a different resource type, I'm still excited to see how it plays out. I really hope I'm not disappointed. I may just end up healing if the dps specs get screwed up too much.

One of my fondest memories on WoW was my old, old, OLD guild's ICC progression. When we finally killed normal Lich King, it was so exhilarating. I'll never forget seeing the cut scene for the first time.

I moved onto heroic raiding with a new guild in Cataclysm and all first heroic kills were like another notch in the belt. We ended Cata strong and while Deathwing's fight wasn't the best, the people I raided with made it that much more enjoyable.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
