Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

As a shaman, I'm most looking forward to the class overhaul we seem to be getting for elemental and enhance. It's been a long time coming and while I'm not overly impressed about getting a different resource type, I'm still excited to see how it plays out. I really hope I'm not disappointed. I may just end up healing if the dps specs get screwed up too much.

One of my fondest memories on WoW was my old, old, OLD guild's ICC progression. When we finally killed normal Lich King, it was so exhilarating. I'll never forget seeing the cut scene for the first time.

I moved onto heroic raiding with a new guild in Cataclysm and all first heroic kills were like another notch in the belt. We ended Cata strong and while Deathwing's fight wasn't the best, the people I raided with made it that much more enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to playing an entire expansion from beginning to end. I joined late MoP and Stopped playing for half of Wod but am now more psyched than ever. Can't wait to kill Guldan.

I love most of what I saw from Legion Alpha coverage. The dungeons look incredible! I am however worried (as is everyone else) about the ability pruning in the name of "class fantasy", particularly about my main, blood DK. I read Troxism's Blitherings, and he raises valid points. What do you guys think?

The aspect of Legion that I am most excited for is being able to play as a Demon Hunter. Demon Hunters were by far my favorite hero type back in Warcraft 3 and I used to main Night Elves just so I could run around as a Demon Hunter during matches. I've been waiting for a Demon Hunter class pretty much since Vanilla WoW and now it's finally happening!
I'm also very excited to be able to do as many artifact quests as I can on all my characters not only for the amazing looking weapons but also for all the interesting stories and lore that will come from them. I can't wait to gear my Pally with Ashbringer, my Shaman with Doomhammer, my Mage with Ebonchill and many more.

I think Burning Crusade was my favorite expansion so far in WoW and just because they're bringing back Illidan and having us face the Burning Legion it feels very reminiscent of BC and has gotten my hopes up a lot. I can't wait to experience Legion in all of it's glory.

The thing I'm most excited about for Legion, is Illidan coming back, and seeing if this is comeback story or if he falls further into damnation. I'm very excited to see how they spin the story, and how he survived ontop of Black Temple.

My fondest memory was on my original WoW account, when I was first introduced to it. I was a couple weeks into my Troll Hunter, I had just bought a life-time supply of Ammunition for my gun. I was completely set, but not even two minutes go by before I find an amazing Bow. I got super excited and went to equip it, when I realised I didn't have Arrows. Long story short, I was recounting this to a guild member because I found it funny. And without hesitation he sent me Gold for some arrows, and the mail was written as. "When I first started WoW my Guild Leader helped me with the exact same thing." I still have this as a screenshot on a USB stick. If only I could find the USB.....

I am excited for more class balance in Legion. I really enjoyed the Mists of Pandaria environment, and I look forward to a beautiful world in the new expansion.

I can't wait for the new PvP honor system! It will so great to finally have incentives to just casually bging or doing skirmishes when I'm bored. I also feel like it will give players to play the game even when they have no one to play with. This is personally my struggle with the game now and I'm hoping the new system will be as great as it sounds!! LEGION HYPE!

The thing I am most looking forward to in Legion is pretty simple: new content.  To expand on that, I've played this game since the original open beta over ten years ago.  I started playing in high school and have continued playing for the vast majority of those ten years.  I've played at all levels, from high end raiding to casual, varying by the different commitments outside of WoW.  WoW has been the most easy game for me to come back to after a brief break.  I've made so many friends in and out of the game over this time period and am forever thankful for those relationships.

The end of expansions are the times I dread most in WoW, but then again they can be so exciting with all of the next expansions alpha and beta news pouring in.  Playing with the current patches content for the better part of the last 8-9 months has mostly made me uninterested at this point, especially with the effect it has had on my friends moving away from it as well.  So with all that said, I am certainly very eager to get my hands on the new content Legion has to offer.

Already purchased the game.  Now to see what's under the hood!  Never had an artifact weapon before.  And with all the modifications I can do to my player, I may never leave the house.

Looking forward to more pet battling. I got into it casually by being bored in WoD, and loved it, now I have over 200 max level pets and ready for anything that comes.

I can't wait to get a chance to play the Demon Hunter class. Just from looking at it I can tell I want to make one into my main and am really excited to finally get a chance to try it out.  Though I have to say all of the new transmogrification additions really has me, my bank, void storage, and alts really interested as well!

Some of my fondest memories in WoW are silly. Such as a gnome only raid to Silvermoon, or a organized pvp war in arathi highlands. I have been playing since BC with a break in MOP. I really enjoy this game but, I feel the "EPIC" feeling has disappeared.

This is what im most looking forward to in Legion. The epic feeling when you pick up a random world legendary that most people dont have. Or the feeling when you have the certain pattern for a weapon that no one can craft but you! I really hope that legion will fix professions into something unique and useful.  I can't wait to try the new challenge modes as well. They really sound amazing and I like the idea of the keystone.

Anyways GL to all and i hope to see you in Legion :D

What am I most looking forward to in Legion? It has to be all of the lore that will be revealed with the expansion. Starting with the Nightmare & Xavius, what happened to Gul'Dan, then later on maybe we'll see some Old God action or a glimpse of Azshara? After doing a 180 with WoD and shoving Archimonde at the end, I wonder what twists Legion will see. For my favourite WoW moment, i'll pick the time me and a bunch of friends started our own guild back in MoP 5. Most of the guys I still talk to regularly

In the past I have enjoyed mostly PvE and occasional PvP (though keeping up PvP gear with the amount of time is annoying and usually I stop PvPing entirely after few weeks in each expansion).

I am looking forward to the class changes, especially shadow and discipline priest which I might end up playing. New challenge modes might be fun, too, as in the past I have not done any CMs due not finding only running against timer to be fun.

I am really looking to the lore that Legion brings, always been a huge fan of Warcraft lore, as well as the artifact system and the uniqueness of each spec.

Really hoping to get into the beta before launch to get a hands on feel of the class changes before locking in a main character to level come launch.

WoD I found quite boring near the end, despite being able to level up quickly and gear alts in Ashran super fast. I am more looking forward to the Story/Lore more than any of the gameplay changes, those I can always adapt to, but the story is what sells me on this game.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
