Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

What I love about legion is "class identity" I am a sucker for lore and as a druid the amount of "shiny" things I am getting is just amazing. I can not wait for legion. As a feral also I see a lot of misconceptions of the class and people on Alpha saying change this or that when its them that are actually playing feral wrong. Thank god Pawkets is on the forums to straighten them out and point out to them that they are way wrong. I would love to beta test solely for class feedback, I don't care about playing early I just want to give feedback on my beloved class.

What I love about current WoW and the past? The relationships most of all. I have met many amazing people because of this game. There have been great raids and epic moments in my WoW history like progression on Heigan the Unclean playing Boomkin and both tanks getting hit with the lava due to a miss step and shifting into bear form after the wipe was called and pulling Heigan back into position and yelling "Finish it!" and getting our first Heigan kill, but nothing compares to the people I was raiding with that day, and the people I have met since then. Pugging a boss kill has little satisfaction, but when you kill a boss with a guild group with all of your friends the nerd screams that follow in whatever VOIP program you use, this is what I love about the past and present of WoW, the people.

I'm so excited for all the new mounts that are being released in Legion. I'm working on my 300 mount achievement and I swear i've been stuck at 280 for forever, all these new models that are coming out make me to excited. Plus tons of new achievements to work on.

Man, I got the Warcraft Chronicle and I've been reading it nonstop lately. It's amazing seeing all the lore I was so fascinated with in one concise place. I'm really looking forward to how Sargeras is going to affect what happens when Legion drops.

In terms of when I started,I started back in 07, near the end of TBC.

I think one of my funniest memories was that I played a rogue, and I played pretty much only for looks. I didn't care about gear, I got pvp swords because they 'looked cooler', instead of their damage. At one point I heard about recount, I installed it, and then I realized why no one wanted me in any groups (my dps was horrid).

Again, Legion is making my insanely hyped and I literally cannot wait. (Oh, and can't wait for the Warcraft movie either)

What I'm looking forward to in the diablo 3/wow expansion would be the artifact weapons and hanging out in a major city again with your epeen on show. I enjoyed that in the past.

Of all the changes in Legion the one I look forward to most when it comes to game mechanics. Is the removal of the limitation of dual spec. Being able to be any spec you can be, even all 4 on druid is going to be nice. Sure, you will be limited by the gear you get, but you always were anyhow.

My favourite memory has to be some of the old quests before cataclysm remake of the world. Like druids learning their animal forms, and the warlock getting the dreadsteed by doing the ritual in Dire Maul. I'm a bit sad that those iconic things went away.

Until this last December, I had been away from WoW for nearly 5 years (as long as Icy Veins has been around).  Mostly, I'm looking forward to being "on the same level" gear-wise, as the rest of the guild I'm in.  It'll be nice to work progression with them, instead of using all of the catch-up mechanics and "gear me up" runs that seem like a bit of a cheat.  I enjoyed that experience when Cataclysm launched, and am looking forward to it again with Legion.

I'm excited to get back to Azeroth in Legion--I liked Draenor but Azeroth will always be my favorite of the two (three?) planets :) Also demon hunters look so cool! I'm loving the changes to class diversity too.

Some of my fondest memories in WoW in the past was when I started in late Wrath and then took a break, came back in early Cata and logged onto my hunter only to find how much of a noob I was, I had a strength axe equipped and some intellect mail gear! I quickly fixed that and my hunter has been my main ever since, playing survival was really fun while it was around and though I think the changes to surv in Legion are good for the game, I'll always miss my favorite spec. </3

I'm really excited! I've been playing a rogue since I started my journey and the new Outlaw spec sounds really cool! The Outlaw artifacts also look really nice! I love especially the one that looks like a duelist sword.

I'm also looking forward to what they have in store for us in terms of raids! My best WoW memory was killing Arthas for the first time. That fight was amazing! The music, the speech at the end. I remember we were wiping a lot on that fight and then, when no one expected, we defeated him. I've never celebrated so much after killing a raid boss :P So I really hope they are able to give us another experience like that!

Thanks for the giveaway.

I am so excited. There is so much things to get excited about. But for me it is mostly the lore. But, on the other hand, I'm a bit apprehensive on the fate of warlocks. No more transformation in demonology. Sigh. Lol

I'm definitely looking forward to play the new boomie. I started playing wow during WOTLK, my first character was a paladin which I leveled up to 70. I thought it was decently fun, but I felt like something was a bit off. After this I tried out druid and fell in love with the balance spec. I mained it all the way up to mists, where I switched it up a bit and rolled resto during the expansion. It was a nice change for a while, but I really missed my laser chicken when the expansion came to an end. Sadly the way blizzard decided to go with the balance spec in WOD wasn't for me. I personally felt like the automatic pendulum system for the eclipse bar wasn't very engaging and rolled mage for a while. Eventhough I liked mage, I still missed playing the old balance druid. Ever since the new builds came out on alpha I've kept my eye on the boomie changes. When I finally got to see the general gist of the spec I was really excited! It finally resembles the spec that I used to love playing and I'm anxious to try it out. smile.png

I am really looking forward to clearing out my bank and voidstorage and finally being able to use the new wardrobe system. I do blame my full bank and voidstorage on you icy-veins for your transmog guides, but i guess it was worth it. :)

What I'm most excited for when it comes to Legion is just the overall changes of each class and spec, by the looks of it a lot of the revamps (and pruning/reorganizing abilities to fit certain niches or specs better) look overall pretty okay to me. With WoD, the prune did too much in a lot of the wrong ways and I'm hoping Legion doesn't take that same approach. What class I'm looking forward to most is Subtlety Rogue, with the new Shadow Dance changes and how different energy management is going to be I'm very eager to get my own personal experiences with it started. On another note, I'm very happy to test the new direction Transmogrification is taking and I'd very much like to know whether certain sets that have become unobtainable (Elite PvP sets specifically, Challenge Mode gear has already been confirmed) will be available to all members of that class on your account. However slim the chances are for getting into this beta giveaway are, they're much higher than the chances of Blizzard finally giving me a key themselves. :(

I'm super excited about the artifact system and some of the changes of classes in Legion. My favorite things about new expansions is to analyze and try the learn the new mechanics and systems of these reworked classes. The artifact system will greatly enhance this and is the thing I greatly look forward too.

What am I most looking forward to in Legion? It has to be all of the lore that will be revealed with the expansion, and the lore that go's with all the artifact weapons.

PS: and whats not to love about Demon Hunters and the wardrobe UI.

I'm hyped for the new Transmogged and artifact weapons, however I'm most looking forward to seeing the new raids and raid mechanics since blizzard always seems to deliver a really fun raiding experience each x-pac been fun. Started my experience with trialing in wotlk and then changed accounts during late cata.My fondest memory is questing through places for the first time and admiring the scenery and the quests as I was kinda new to mmos. Overall I've loved wow since I started and not gonna quit anytime soon.

I can't wait to play around with the new BM spec!  Or maybe demonology spec... both are very similar and I like the idea of having a horde of pets.  One of my favorite memories of WoW was downing Algalon for the first time as a server first!

Im really excited for the new Demon Hunters Class, seeing the lore in game with the Broken isles, seeing all the lore for the Artifacts, and the updated Druid Models, they look amazing. My favorite memory was meeting all the new people, from raids and LFG, I loved the Wrath questing, the build up for the fight with the Arthas in ICC.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
