Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I started playing WoW back when BWL came out, and the thing I miss the most out of vanilla was a bit of class identity which through the years it kinda wore out, but looking at what they're doing in Legion with artifact quests is hyping me up.

I just hope that once we reach endgame we still have those epic quests like lok'delar, anatema, xoroth, charger, whirlwind, pig polymorph and much more that made me fall in love with each and every class that I played back then.

I've personally been playing the game since it was 3 years old, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Only recently though did i sign up for the PTR/Beta version of the game.4 PTR was so much fun for me, I still get some flashbacks when i listen to some specific music that I listened to back then. I am extremely hyped for Legion (except for the Rogue artifacts, kinda silly if you ask me) and i simply can't wait to get my hands on this expac

Im really looking forward to any Druid lore we'll receive. Been a Druid since I started and that's not likely to change. Should be pretty sweet, it's our time to shine!

My favorite WoW moment was when I was very sick and staying home almost everyday, I camped out the time-lost Proto drake. I sat there under my blankets with my laptop next to me and after almost a week that NPC scan went off (and it wasn't that stupid blue dragon this time). I was so excited, WoW truly helped me through some tough times.

I am looking forward to finally seeing the long awaited battle against the legion. I can't wait to see how things turn out. One of my favorite moments was in mid wrath when i started and finally hit around lvl 70 I joined in on some old bc raids which turned out to be my first raiding experience ever. It was so much fun and the people there was awesome

As somebody who is not only interested in the power but also in the apperience of my Charakter, I am a total fanboy for the artifact system in Legion. As a Warlock I'm missing the old quests for getting the demons and was pretty sad when I realised that they were completely removed out of the game but with the artifact quests I had a quit nostalgic feeling. Not only does it bring back Class fantasy but I have a feeling that I have so much to do in Legion. With artifact skins in the game I feel motivated to set myself goals outside of raiding and maybe dive into PvP or more World content, it has been a long time since BC that I'm feeling this amout of motivation. In my opinion they should clearly work with this cosmetic system far more often for people like me who want to be rewarded when achieving something . (Also big shout-out to the new Honor System and the mog system, I did not dare to write about the last one bc.)

I can't wait to put my hands on the new artifact system for my resto shaman and to explore the brand new zones and oh my god Dalaran is back. So much things to be excited about .  My best memory in World of Warcraft is my first down of the Lich King, the chill. Thank you for all the useful guides, stay awesome .

I've always enjoyed the lockish classes like Warlock and Death knight, Demon Hunters look like they will be really fun. Probably will completely kill off my Monk though. I'm also looking towards the flying Skull for demonology.

I've played WoW for its PvP since mid-Vanilla, and I'm really looking forward to the huge overhaul it's receiving. I've even done a complete 180 on my opinion of the Artifact system, which was originally something I dreaded upon its announcement, but the more that's released about them, the more at home I feel with them, seeing as they're quite clearly an alternative to the old talents system.

Honestly, if they get the PvP right, I'll be playing throughout the expansion, but the PvE, at least in the 5-man design, seems to be getting back on track.

I could not be more excited to try out the artifact weapons. The druid bear claws look amazing :x Even being a resto/boomkin druid as  my main specs I am definitely going to try them all. Still deciding what alt I want to level afterwards, is it bad that I am basing all of these choices off artifacts? tongue.png Anyhow, super ecstatic for legion and whats to come!

I am most looking forward to the class overhaul and especially to the warrior animation changes. In my opinion Blizzard did a really great job with the new animations of the warrior class. I am also stoked for endlessly scaling challenge mode difficulties as I think 5 man content is a really nice format

I have a lot of faith in Blizzard after playing WoW for 7 years now so I'm confident that Legion will be one of if not the best expansion to date. From questing to professions to the lore and characters, Blizzard is hands down the best at the genre and they continue to nail it out of the park.

One of my favorite and most memorable moments in WoW was just 3 weeks ago when our guild, <Vigilance> on Velen-US downed Heroic Archimonde after a couple weeks of casual progression and trial and error. Here's a picture we took shortly after finally downing him: http://i.imgur.com/ucdQnoH.jpg

I've been with this guild since shortly after Pandaria launched and even though it is like herding cats sometime, I love them. It's like a second home, a virtual home on Azeroth where everyone knows everyone's name and we all love to crack jokes and have fun, even if some demon tries to stand in our way. :)

I'm really looking forward to the new zone scaling. Being able to 100% complete a quest zone before you out-level it sounds just phenomenal. I think dungeons are doing the same thing too, so right out of the bat getting access to all the dungeons will help with the boring grind you make when power-leveling alts later on in the expansion.

I personally can't wait for the story itself in Legion I loved the Warcraft Chronicle book and I can't wait for legion to give me even more of that sweet nectar that is Warcraft lore! Any info on titans, old gods, and of course Alleria and Turalyon would be amazing to see!!! Also I definitely was not NOT PREPARED for Illidan coming back even though I wanted it so badly so I'm so excited to see how his story moves forward as he has been one of my all time favorite heroes for awhile now. I am excited to see how order halls and our artifact weapons evolve throughout the expansion as well. I think it was a very awesome idea to let players have these mythical weapons and I hope their prestige really shines through in game.

As for a moment in wow I will always remember would be when I met my current guild-mates on the timeless isle. I had just recently re-subbed to wow at the tail end of Pandaria after taking a break sometime around mid-cataclysm so I was out of the loop for awhile and was basically a noob again haha! I found my way to the timeless isle to gear up and came across two very friendly people who happened to be the guildleader and officer of the guild I would eventually become a part of. They put up with me lame jokes and scrub tier play long enough to invite me to the guild and helped me get my groove back in WoW. Eventually I would become one of the top dps in the guild and I have them to thank for it! I never felt more welcomed or had more enjoyable times in WoW then with them and the rest of my guildies and I can't wait to spend more time with them all in Legion once it releases!

I was looking forward to playing my pally some more... till I realized everyone and their brother will be rolling pally. Damn Ashbringer, why you so damn cool!? WHY DO YOU SHOOT HOLY WRATH FROM YOUR BLADE!?!?!?!? I love you Ashbringer.

I've never been much for pvp but the new prestige system caught my interest as well. When I first  heard about it I thought it would be a great way to help balance pvp without touching pve.

My only concern is content droughts and currencies. Seriously, I hate you apexis.

I can't wait for the Shadow priest changes. The class feels terrible to play at a casual and hardcore style since the need of orbs at the beginning of progression pulls kills the class. I just hope the insanity systems is 100% times better.

Since the first one actually,my dad got me into it, and we've had soo many memories together. Some new thing I'd like to see in Legion is new talent trees and possibly a new currency system, as well as armor character armor displayed on feral cat forms.

Affliction Warlocks having Dots to manage again. So far the spec seems to resemble back to the WotLK style which was pretty fun for me personally. Hate we still don't have Shadowbolt back to spam but at least most of the rest looks good

I'm looking forward to:

  • The new implementation of the weapon leveling system
  • Demonology warlocks who actually use demons
  • more class quests
  • Class halls (as long as they are unlike garrisons)
  • finally kicking some legion ass
  • Becoming a class leader for the alliance

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
