Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am looking forward to the major changes in all the classes in legion and how they are adding pvp and weapon talents to the game, I feel like that after a good amount of work they can make the pvp talents a major benefit to pvp and balance it out. And what I enjoyed in the past was wpvping in timeless isle even thought a lot of people didnt really like MOP I really enjoyed it.

I personally excited for artifacts weapons and class order halls in legion. I also look forward to the freedom of choice on where you can level in your leveling experience throughout the broken isles. It will make leveling alts a lot more enjoyable. I also look forward to specifically the artifact talent trees, as it will add more variety at least for the beginning of the expansion. I trust that blizzard with have plenty of content to come out after the initial launch. See you all in legion!

I've been pretty disappointed with WoD. Since the first images were out i thought that the whole expansion was made to cater old school players. With legion I didn't have that impression probably because there are a lot of things that convince me. From our own class hall to new great aniimations. I love the artifacts even if the majority of traits look pretty bland, i appreciate having one more source of power, it makes me feel good and well.  From the past i loved the cataclsym first raid tier and firelands because it was the period where i was more involved with the game and i was able to make some serious progress. But nothing comes close to MoP. I enjoyed EVERYTHING from that expansion (except for the duration of SoO). Zones, music, content. I always had something to do between battle pets, dailies, old raids, challenge, scenarios etc. And then there's Jade Forest, probably my favourite zone of azeroth, no place gives me serenity and calmness like that one.

Unfortunately I hate how they have really changed Survival for hunters over the years but i'm actually kinda curious about how the whole melee mechanic will go.

Really looking forward to freeing up SO MUCH space with the Wardrobe. But also to get out and explore the lore. There's so much new to discover, and I want to see where the lore is heading. The game has felt a bit slow since Cata, sure MoP picked it up a bit before crashing down with slower content that continued in WoD. We don't really know what WoD set us up on until Legion arrives, but I think we're in for a ride

Overall I actually like pruning if it is done correctly. I like the idea of swapping the challenge curve onto mechanics and move away from big rotations. I would love to see more interaction with the environment and no DBM q's on when to move or where to move. One of the things I enjoyed about ddo, was u didn't have an addon to lead u in the fights, and had to pay attention to the bosses animations to know when they would do certain mechanics. Need to hide behind a rock when the dragon breaths fire, then pay attention to the smoke coming out of his nostrils.

Overall this type of gameplay is more fun to me, then tracking buffs paying attention to dbm countdowns, and making sure I am hitting several key-binds in the right order. Simple and easy are not the same thing. Losing weight is simple, but if it was easy more people would do it. It's the same with older games, not many people can get to a donkey kong kill screen, yet it only has 1 button. If you can shift some of the challenge to player movement and when to hit your buttons, you can create challenging and engaging gameplay with ability pruning. However WoW's gameplay is starting to be a little dated and I am not sure they can pull this shift off, and some people just don't have the twitch skill required for more that DBM prompted patchwork style rotations.

For PvP I am concerned for the amount of honor to cap prestige. For several classes you will be unwelcome into arena teams if you are prestiging since certain pvp abilities are required. WoW is not game of bring the player not the class at higher rating, certain comps just out class others, and not having your abilities is not good for high end pvp. I like the idea of prestiging and giving people progression and things to unlock, but it can easily be done with horizontal progression in pvp. Vertical progression will always stunt a competitive pvp environment. Its not like CoD were you can prestige and dominate with the base guns. The prestige system in wow would be if CoD prestige only allowed melee attacks, and then slowly you unlocked a pistol. Hoping this changes or I don't expect to see anyone who is competing for rank 1 or glad to do prestige much on their mains.

I am looking forward to outlaw rogue the most. The only change I would like to see for outlaw is for pistol shot to function mechanically like the current shuriken toss. When you are between 10-30 yards, I would like to see your auto attacks function with the pistol.

Wrath is the only time I have not played WoW in some form, and for me I enjoyed Cata the most, not because of the content, but the how the content was delivered. Dailies had a cap and we still had have group will travel.

One thing that concerns me with legion is the mass pruning. I believe class depth was what made WoW great and what helped retain so many passionate players. Many agree that the peak of WoW was around Wrath of the Lich King and that was when the game was at its deepest. I cannot see how removing options from the player is a good thing. If a player is not very invested in the game and does not care so much about minmaxing or the depth of their class, they can ignore some "complicated" abilities and go on with real detriment to their play. When skilled players have the option to take on additional responsibilities and input more skillful play to output greater results, that will keep them motivated and having fun. The rewarding feeling of maximizing DPS after time spent practicing and learning one's class is something that brought me to the game and I know that I am not alone with this.

Really excited to get back to WoW. I haven't had a chance to play WoD b/c I was in school and had no money. I am starting a job next month though and will be able to start a subscription again. Thanks for doing this.

First, I'll never forget the moment that I first realized how incredible a game WoW is. I had been playing one of the old 10-day free trials for a few days (this was during Burning Crusade, just after the Zul'Aman patch dropped). When I first signed up for the free trial, I was on the fence about whether I'd enjoy WoW well enough to keep playing after the trial was over, but by about the 5th or 6th day of the trial, I realized that there was no way I wanted to stop playing. The kid in me who had spent countless hours in fantasy adventure & roleplaying games like The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior, and Dragon Warrior 3 realized that I'd found the kind of game that I'd been waiting for. I've been playing WoW--on the same main, a Human Retribution Paladin--ever since. Second, the thing I'm looking forward to most in Legion is the idea of exploring the lore of my main character taking up the Ashbringer & becoming the leader of Retribution Paladins (at least, in my own headcanon version of the lore). Also looking forward to taking the fight to the Burning Legion, and finally giving Gul'dan what's coming to him.

The Demon Hunter class is something I'm looking forward to. I'm a big fan of all classes, and I love to play a new class, so this time is not different Although I gotta say, the thing I am looking forward the most is the new Rogue spec. I've been palying rogue since WotLK and it's very exciting to know they are changing the Combat spec into something more "roguie". Cause Illidan is by far my favorite character of all Warcraft universe, and seeing him coming back give me a big hype XD I guess that's it. I never win these things so hopefully this time will be different  Please gimme a key this time *-*

I'm really looking forward to a lot about Legion - new Hunter pets, new transmog system, new raids and lore and playing through a new zone. What stands out to me as my favorite moments is raiding with friends. Throne of Thunder last expansion - finally beating those bosses (especially Horridon and Megaera) was a good feeling

I have decided to change my main from a Resto Shaman to a Guardian Druid. After seeing the artifact skins for Guardian and Feral, I have been extremely excited to change all of these new changes out and I am so stoked.

I probably look up legion information at least 3 times a day every day when I can.

I would love to play the beta and give feedback rather than just watching someone else do it :)

Thanks for being a top tier website for my favorite games Icy Veins!

Features of Legion I'm most excited for:

-Revamped endgame that seems very similar to D3 Adventure Mode:

WoD suffered in the beginning because of its endgame focused almost entirely on raiding and challenge modes. Say what you will about D3 in its launch state but I think what it has morphed into is brilliant and so akin to what made D2 endlessly replayable and it's almost solely due to the revamped endgame. The WoW raiding scene has been incredible for a long time. It's time for more possibilities

-Dalaran's Glorious Return

Mmo's feel most epic when there are larger amounts of people present. Faction shared capital cities contribute to the epicness.

-Transmog system

Xmog has been a quietly addictive part of WoW since its induction. All their improvements in this system look fantastic

Favorite moments in my WoW history

-Achieving realm first Madness of Deathwing. After 300 wipes my guild was neck and neck with the previous realm best guild and we managed to pull it off first. The level of adrenaline and feeling of triumph when killing a raidboss after that amount of time is an experience I have yet to find in other videogame (Dark Souls came close)

-Realm first level 90 achievement

Again just a feeling of triumph and achievement that was fun to get

-The first time Elegon's floor despawned and every single person fell to their doom

So many hilarious moments have come about from a off group going through a fight blind

-My favorite WoW lore moment - (spoilers) when Godfrey headshot Sylvanas and she was resurrected. It was Game of Thrones-esque and ahead of its time and fun that it happened so early in the leveling process. It gave leveling storylines a brief sense of weight

I really look forward to the zones scaling to my characters level in Legion, I feel it will add an element of replay value to the "leveling zones" something I feel was really missing in WoD. It will also be fun being able to level with friends regardless of the difference in levels between our characters. I just remember having so much fun leveling with my friends back in Wrath in Zul'Drak and Borean Tundra.

I'm really looking forward to wielding Ashbringer as a paladin, seeing as it's been EVERY dream of a paladin. As for a favorite personal moment, I've really been a fan of all the out of character moments I've had with my guild and our events that we all get on TeamSpeak for. The amount of talking and laughing makes it that much better.

It's hard to say exactly what I'm excited for. Everything from transmog, to the raids, to the wardrobes. WoW has been a big part of my lif. I always enjoy playing and I've been overall very happy with every new expansion. I can't wait to see what new things are in store for us!

I'm so excited to test out Survival hunters. I've been playing as a Marksman Hunter for quite some time now and I am struggling to decided to play as Marksman or Survival in Legion. With an invite i'd be able to test each spec and post appropriate feedback on the forums of my experiences

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
