Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I have so many things im looking forward to in legion. The artifact weapons, new spells, spec changes, new and updated forms. Most of all i can't wait for the beasts and class halls. From what i have seen in previews it is all really detailed and seems lovely. I will have no doubt that i will stay in my class hall all day because i main druid and hunter and at this moment the class halls suit them very well. I really wish that Blizzard would give more flow to the race hair but they can't do everything. PvP and PvE content to me seem interesting enough that i might just go back to them for legion. Warlords of draenor was really just an expansion to bring the legion back into the picture and give a little lore refresh for us which left it dry so i turned to role play Legion so far seems that is won't be like this and that it will actully give me something to enjoy like Wrath of the lich king and Mists of pandaria did.

I've loved WoW since the first time I logged in, created a toon and jumped haphazardly into PVE content. I remember my first death and panicking until I learned of running back to my bloodied corpse and rezzing. The story lines were and still are amazing although I still get choked up at the Thrall quest line in Cata, making all my toons play through this quest to the end. The thought of PVP still terrifies me even though I have waded awkwardly into a few BGs (unsuccessfully).I hope that Legion beings back the stories. The feeling of accomplishment in any aspect of the game (PVE, PVP, raids, dungeons, questers and achievement earners). The weapon goal is awesome and I am excited to see all the toons with their different styles depending on their end goals. I really hope that Legion brings back the people that have left due to WoD and MoP (although I honestly loved MoP). I'm excited to see what this game will bring to us as players and as a community.

Extremely excited for the wardrobe since I plan on collecting every possible look I can get.

As for non-insane indeavors, the PvP overhaul is intriguing and so far almost every revealed Zone, Dungeon, and Raid boss have looked very enjoyable, so I look forward to getting tired of them over months of smashing my face against Mythic and high end challenge mode dungeons. In that vein I am pretty excited for all the Blood DK changes since I feel I'll get even more rewards for good play.

COME OUT PRE-PATCH AND BETA!

I am looking forward to the Artifact progression system. A lot of people are freaking out over abilities being pruned but they tend to forget that you get quite a few abilities from your Artifact weapon talents! Also, abilities need to be removed so that Blizz can add new ones, otherwise the game becomes overly cluttered like in MoP.

I am sooo ridiculously excited for Demon Hunters (oh my, those class specific customisations!) and the Transmog updates. Prestige also sounds super interesting, and some of the proposed class changes are also intriguing - especially pvp. Just about bouncing out of my chair in excitement! Bring it on! biggrin.png

I'm looking forward to the priest changes, mainly to holy priest since I LOVED holy in Mists. I'm also wanting to see the new artifact weapons and dungeons.WOD was a little lackluster for me so I wasn't playing as much, but Legion looks so much better, with a lot more content than WOD.Besides, Legion, Old gods.

With all of the work Blizzard is putting in to Legion (new spell & ability animations, class overhauls, artifact weapons...etc) it is going to feel like a brand new game to me personally. From vanilla to current i have already experienced massive changes to this game some good, some bad but I still continue to play just because of the friends i have made in the past 10 years. With Warlord's of Draenor being a huge disappointment to most i think blizz realized that they needed to make some changes, and the videos I've seen look very promising. My most memorable moment in wow has to be the feeling of getting my Judgement helmet on my paladin, knowing that I just got the first piece of my favorite set. I remember browsing the old WoW website, looking at the tier sets and upon looking at Paladin tier 2 armor i knew immediately what class i was going to play.

All in all I am pumped for this expansion!

I'm looking forward to having a form of class quests again! I remember traveling all across Azeroth every 10 or so levels on my vanilla warrior to get things like 'berzerker stance' and the 'whirlwind axe'! and it'd be fun to play something along those lines again. biggrin.png

Also the new animations for the classes seem sooo top notch and fresh! Very interested in getting to have a go myself.

My most enjoyable character is my raiding Disc Priest, even in the current expansion. What I miss most is being able to be an off heals essentially by atonement healing.

I'm looking forward to their new patch and expansion bring back vitality to Atonement disc priest.

I think the survival hunter looks really good, especially since it's now a melee spec. I remember making my first character, it turned out to be an Orc hunter and I only leveled him to 23. A few months later, I decide to level up, and now he is lvl 100, he is still my main toon to this day.

Like many people, I'm excited for the new transmog closet.  Unlocking cosmetic appearances, and having a few achievements included, should encourage people to go back and revisit some of the old content for sets or pieces where they haven't already.  It just makes the collecting element easier for fans of that meta, while removing the issue of full banks and void storage many people face.

The artifact weapons are also very interesting to me.  A lot of the journey in the expansion centers around the assembly and customization of the artifacts by the player, which feels like it would invest a player emotionally/psychologically in their own personal journey/story in the expansion.  This is part of what I liked about the legendary cloak and ring quests in MoP and WoD: they aren't legendary for the item itself, but because participating in the vast story arc makes the player's character part of the legend of that expansion.  Artifacts should also make player choices relevant to how they like to play, much in the same way the ability to go through the zones in any order while the content stays level appropriate caters to player choice.  The ability to unlock different looks for the artifacts is simply icing on the cake of personalization.

Contrary to some opinions I've heard, I am also looking forward to the legendary drops in Legion.  It's a little bit like finding a legendary in Diablo 3 with some strange ability that changes the way a player thinks about and interacts with their abilities.  That is potentially game changing.  Instead of only seeing a few such abilities on set pieces or a BIS trinket, we'll have the ability to try additional abilities that we find appealing.  Again, this make choices matter, and allows for potential freedom to break away from cookie cutter molds.  Granted the RNG element may be a problem, but that's a toggle that should be easy to adjust to the point where even those with the worst luck get some love.

Honestly there's something here for practically everyone.  I haven't been as heavy into PVP as I was back in Wrath and Cataclysm.  The prestige system for PVP is intriguing, and feels fresh and new.  I'm looking forward to trying that out too.

I'm really looking forward to the new lore. I'm excited to see more of Sylvanas and Illidan most of all. I love the lore every expansion, and I like that I get to experience it as an adventurer. Raiding has always been fun for that reason. This expansion has actually been a bit slow, but during the Timewalking, I met some awesome people and ended up changing servers to join their guild. It's been a breath of fresh air as my guild split up in Mists and I haven't found one I've liked since then. Timewalking and raiding with them has been the best thing about WoD

Really looking forward to the transmog system and artifacts. The artifact system is similar to the old talent trees and I really miss that. Overall the new animations look amazing and the revamping of almost all classes look great

I'm definitely excited for Boomkins to get a resource system that they can actually control. I started playing in Wrath, so Dalaran has a very special place in my heart, and I'm very excited it's coming back (with updates!!!!!!!!!!!).

I'm sitting in the middle of my Trig course as I type this. Fire mages have me feeling the burn more than Bernie Sanders. I've mained a Hunter and Deathknight before, but just something about how visually appealing the mage spec really rustles my jimmies. Idk I hope for the best, and really hope good mages can define themselves from casual mages.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
