Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to a few things.

Firstly I'm interested in the changes to the Paladin. After coming back from a long break I haven't been overly interested in playing pally as of late.

Secondly I'm interested in the advancement of the storyline. WoD was pretty disappointing in that area for me at least. I did love the whole Maraad storyline and passing of the torch though knowing more of what happened in the "real" timeline (someone had an interested theory but it would be nice to see the official story).

Thirdly I am interested in getting my hands on the PvP system. I felt PvP needed some love. The lack of a new Battleground sucked and Ashran was meh.. I want to see how the talents play out. There's only so much that any of the podcasters can talk about but I need the hands on.

Honestly, I'm just really excited for something new, like I have been for every expansion. I'm ready to explore new places and see new things with the friends that I've made online since starting in late vanilla.

In truth, the thing that I'm most excited about is getting to wield Ashbringer!!

I'm a new player to Wow and really enjoying it. It's still a learning process for me and I want to continue my education. I've mostly been playing a destruction Warlock, but I'm ready to try some different classes and races. Legion looks like it's going to be a good expansion with lots of new content. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks.

5 years already? WOW. Man, time flies. As for Legion.looking forward to the Rogue changes, can't wait to test drive Outlaw. The artifacts and of course Demon Hunters are interesting as well. As a side the closet system seems kind of interesting for transmog.especially if they go through with finding every piece of gear you might have had but don't because of bag space. Been playing since Vanilla.and I have to say, my fondest time was during Wrath. I loved everything about that expansion. My fondest memory was staying up all night because we were so close to killing the Lich King we just kept going, we finally killed him at 6am and I congratulated everyone then quickly logged out so I could make it to work by 7am. Other than that, most of the friends I made during that time I still talk to everyday and still play with some of them.  I am hoping to see Legion be as epic as Wrath was, very hopeful  Can't wait.

Honestly the biggest thing that I'm looking forward to for legion is the new animation updates. I've played my warrior for going on half my life now so it's nice to see Blizzard improving the aesthetics of characters, first with new models and now the animations. Content-wise, I appreciate the scaling levelling environments so you don't have to race off to another zone as soon as you hit the right level for it; a lot of times in the past I've skipped the end of zone story lines to ensure that I'm levelling efficiently, the removal of which is a welcome change.

Another big thing I'm looking forward to is that along with Legion's release and the upcoming Warcraft movie, I have some old friends considering coming back to the game, so it'd be nice to play with them again.

Also Demon Hunters, because Demon Hunters.

I'm really looking forward to the freedom with scaling zones while leveling in Legion. (great for my alts)  My fondest memories of WoW in the past is exploring zones for the first time with my friends and gearing up for raiding (its all about bringing friends together

For Legion, I'm looking most forward to trying out all the new classes, and to experience the lore while questing and raiding. Usually in WoW my biggest problem is trying to find a main class to play the expansion with. I'm really excited to play with the classes changed for Legion and try Demon Hunter. I started playing in WoD so my fondest memory was my first raid experience which was LFR Kargath Bladefist. Even though I look back on it and realize how easy it was, tanking a raid boss for the first time, seeing all the people around me and listening to DBM counting down abilities is something I wont forget. I'm also going to try to PvP in Legion, the new system where armor doesn't matter as much seems really interesting and gets rid of the ilvl difference that sometimes steers people away from PvP

With so many new additions to the game, picking out the single best of the bunch is hard. If I'm to be entirely honest with myself though, I'm looking the most forward to the Demon Hunter class, and I know that it's one of the key features that most of my friends are excited for as well. I've got some fond memories of the previous hero class experience, and I've already set up a "let's level DH's together" deal with two friends whom I play with regularly. One of them leveled a Death Knight with me back in Wrath, and that DK remains my main to this day. I'm hoping the new class might take the lead in Legion and onwards

I have to say what I am waiting for since BC is the abandnoment of the honor system that required honor point grinding to buy gear. Really looking forward to more and easier accessable pvp. Legion looks really great so far, considering the fail that WoD was. Everything now seems to shape into the correct direction, in my opinion:Scaling dungeons with endgame rewards, pvp talents, accound wide mogging . all things I am looking for since ages

I really like what they're doing with most of the classes and specs in terms of strengthening the class fantasies (unfortunately it is my own class that I dont like the changes with, rogue). WoD fell short in some the aspects of the game that I really enjoy like reputations and professions but I've still had a ton of fun during it mostly raiding with friends. It is also one of my proudest moments in the 11 years I've played this game when I killed mythic Archimonde with my guild since this was the first expansion I really got into high end raiding

Legion is hope that WoD was just a mistake, that the game truly hasnt nose dived so far that Cata is an improvement.

I normally avoid Beta on WoW but Im interested in checking out several features (xmog, Class Halls) before they go live.

Every time a expansion rolls around i get goosebumps. Very much looking forward to legion. The new artifact weapons looks really nice, and those pvp talent tree /drool.I've played this game for a very long time now (b. which is long to me, maybe not as long as others ), and love seeing new stuff added, things changed, things "tweek'd". Legion also brings a new class, Demon Hunter.  Wow has had a big impact on me, as a non so social person in the real world, working with raid buddies and making pvp teams is the most social i've ever been. I've been through many guilds in my time playing but almost all of them have left a positive impact on me. Wrath of the Lich King expansion still will be remembered as my fondest exp in Wow. The 25 man raiding scene back then was the most fun ive ever had, competing for top dps and less dmg taken became a fun competitive game among my guild mates. I've never had more fun with other ppl in a video game, and i have Wow to thank for that.                                        Thank you to Wow, and Icy Veins of course for your awesome guides.

I'm excited to explore the new areas, it's so exciting when an expansion is launched. Everything is new, there's no pressure to gear up, you get to take your time and just explore and enjoy.

I'm really hoping Arms isn't going to be Blizzards PVP spec, I've been enjoying it immensely since I started my warrior. I really hope it's viable.

been waiting for a long time for a giveaway/invite to alpha, I'm so hopeful!

thanks.

I'm really looking forward to the artifact traits as they remind me of the pre-mop talent trees, which I really liked.

Also can't wait to try out the Demon Hunter.

So where to start, Well I guess that Artifact weapons sound cool, (I will Wield The ASHBRINGER), no long having to worry about if your BiS weapon will drop since it will always drop for you. I like some of the changes the classes are getting, I just wish that my two favorite specs weren't changing some much, Ret pally seems more like a support class from what I've heard, and Survival Hunter (just no) Hunter does not need a melee spec, WoW does not need another melee spec added on top of Demon Hunter. Another main concern of mine is profession, With Warlords added our professions lost their passive buffs, and we could only wear 3 pieces total, but now they no longer need to make weapons, glyphs are being down played, gem slots are RnG, enchants are now only weapons, ring, neck and cloak. Their is almost no synergy between professions any more, like when you needed leather, cloth, gems and or metal bars to make something. So all in all i am concerned with some of the things that are happening but am optimistic that Legion might pull this around. I hope it does. NO MORE GARRISONS.

I'm looking forward to the story in Legion the most. I can't wait to see what they're doing with Maiev Shadowsong, she has been my all time favourite Warcraft character since TFT. I used to pretend to be her as a kid, those were the good days. I just can't wait to see her again, I just hope she doesn't die

Legion is looking like a solution to so many outdated issues with WoW. I resubbed last month just so I can be ready to go. PvP Honour system, Professions with ranks, Artifact Weapon druid forms, Demonology Warlock spec.the list goes on as for the things I am excited for.Ultimately, raiding is where I linger and being a MoP baby, I have plenty of memories of the recent raids, but it is Throne of Thunder that takes my cake.Horridon was a pretty damn awesome fight for progression with so much going on and everyone needing to do more than just dps. To top it all off, our first kill I was a resto druid and I bomus rolled a Thunder Forged healing trinket from him.

So far I'm on the fence about Legion. Loving the dungeons, the artifact weapons, the zones, Dalaran and finally taking the fight to the big bads. But the class design itself is making me have serious reservations. Artifacts especially look really awesome. As for WoW memories, my fondest ones are of leveling with my friends, through any expansion, be it on the very first week or at the end of the expansion, there's always some fun to be had in a group and always that one quest that was always there but you somehow never did

I know I won't win a beta key with the huge amount of responses but I'm pretty hyped for artifact weapons, I want to see what they offer and if they offer a better feeling than when you currently upgrade a weapon now. Currently on my hunter, I just want mythic manny bow and it provides me a huge incentive to want to push mythic and raid more. I'll find it weird since there will be one weapon all the time and everyone else has a similar weapon than you, if same class/spec of course. Good luck to all!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
