Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm really excited about the new honor system. I have PvPed for a while now and grinding out gear on alts was always a headache.

I also can't wait to see the new raids. I never really raided much before WoD and I've been getting pretty good at it even just pugging my way through.

My favorite memory would probably have to be when my uncle promoted me to GM assistant in the guild we used to have. We had this big RP ceremony even though we weren't on a RP realm and all the other guildies came. Pretty magical moment for me as a youngster. That or the first time I ran up to Thunder Bluff on my Tauren. The lifts were the coolest thing id ever seen and I loved the city layout.

I've been playing since vanilla released. Really excited for artifact weapons and Demon Hunters are going to ROCK. Class changes I think are going to be a lot of fun. But if I had to get excited for one thing (and it may seem crazy) it's that first week of an expansion leveling up. Areas are flooded with people - everything is new - yes there are glitches, but the frantic energy I just can't wait. I usually take 3 days off work and I don't sleep. Really think this is going to be a great xpac

I remeber back in vanilla, being a hunter and seeing a select few melee hunters. At the time I was youthful and judged them being inferior. But Blizzard learned and saw a window of opportunity. I'm so stoked to be a melee hunter, smashing people left and right with a pet at my side. Not to mention my excitement of a more viable arms. The cherry on top has to be the wardrobe system, finally some bank space.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Havok DH. I have played Ret for 10 years so a change of pace might be nice. I am also looking forward to the new Challenge Mode system.

I would love to win the beta key because I'm so excited about all the new things were are going to experience in legion, such as the artifact weapons and the new PvP Sistem, as an artist, I'm so excited to see the graphical inprovements such as textures, animations and others, I would love to test the new transmit system (because I love building transmog xD), I also would like to see the class improvements and artifacts weapons of my favorite class, the Druids. Also I love PvP and for the videos I'm watching, Legion Dungeos have awesome mechanics and I would love to play them. So, I never won a bet key before but I have hope to win one for legion test, I've been playing WoW since WoTLK and always have fun playing with friends

I'm most excited to pool my time into one "main" character after the last two expansions worth of leveling and gearing alts to max level due to a lack of meaningful character progression. By this I mean in Legion so far we have seen: 1) PVP grind bringing meaningful growth to a character, I might not be the most experienced pvp'er but I do enjoy battlegrounds and once again look forward to jumping in.2) Being out in the world feeling rewarding again especially with the interaction with class hall followers.3) Wielding unique and iconic weapons from Warcraft lore. The thing I miss most is the feeling of a journey while leveling my first few characters through classic and tbc before the cataclysm changed the quests: certain trolls lost their elite status and a long quest chains arachnid foe became nothing more than a tiny bug

I'm mostly excited for the game to feel a bit more alive without the garrisons. Also, I'm pretty interested in playing demon hunters  because their abilities and possible build look really cool on the alpha.

As for my fondest memory, there are a few. I joined the game in BC but didn't get to do much endgame. Once wrath hit, I joined a guild and made most of my ingame friends in that guild. My fondest memory from back then was working our way through Ulduar with that guild. It was a blast. My more recent fond memory is downing 13/13M with my guild currently about 2 months ago. Similar situation in which I've made a lot of friends here and enjoy the game because of them.

Of course I am stoked for the artifact weapons, but the new wardrobe feature is my biggest draw.. to actually have bag space again to farm up more transmog and toys and what not. It is the most nifty thing that they have added since transmog was implemented.. Congrats on 5 years Icy Veins! Here's to 5 more!

What I'm most pumped for in legion is the demon hunter class. I have wanted to play demon hunter ever since I learned who Illidan was. I was so pumped during blizzcon with this reveal. Warglaives!

My fondest memory is joining my friend's guild for WOTLK. I had just the best time with all of them. I laughed from the start of the raid time until the end. I loved raiding every week. We progressed further and further until we finally downed the lich king. This was the first time I ever progressed with a guild, and ti meant more to do it with my friends.

My wife and I have been playing Warcraft together since the Burning Crusade expansion.  I think in general, I always look forward to new expansions for the new content and the possibility of improvements in the world, both from and environment and gameplay perspective.  I have yet to find another game or hobby that presents as many options for enjoyment that Warcraft has over the years, especially for a very affordable price.  The hours upon hours of activity that I get from my $13 per month is pretty insane. As far as Legion specifically, I'm very interested in seeing how they move on from the Garrison concept (which I actually liked for the most part) and take lessons learned from that experiment.  I also am hoping that the Artifact weapons and new alignment of talents will bring back some more customization to our characters.  I'm currently not overly excited by the Demon Hunter class, but that's pretty normal for me.  I only have a Monk now because I boosted one with my Legion pre-order.   I'm looking forward to changes to Prot Pallys and Disc Priests, but most of all, I'm looking forward to beginning an expansion with a raid team full of people that I like.  I've never quite managed to be in that position when I new expansion has come out in the past. I've had a few good WoW moments in my time, like when my Horde guild on Dawnbringer earned our Black War Bear mounts, or when for the first time ever, I was able to finish the final heroic raid tier in an expansion when my raid team killed Archi last month and we got our Grove Wardens.  I've even gotten a job through a former raid team member in another state, so how is that for an example of WoW community? I'm planning on trying to get serious with a couple of new classes in Legion, so it would be great to get in on the Beta so I can get a head start (with a little help from my friends at Icy Veins of course

I cannot wait for the new transmog system. I am currently working on finishing sets for my alts. I love that it will be account-wide, since some of the raids I am still farming I no longer need the mount, but still looking for that one piece. Looking forward to Legion!

I'm looking forward to the revamp of the Demo lock the most. It is very different than it used to be, and looks like so much fun. Probably one of the coolest memories i have is when i was out in zangarmarsh in outland. It was the first time i had ever seen a flying mount, and it was a nether drake at that. It was the coolest thing i had ever seen

I played from the original WoW Beta up until Cataclysm where I started playing less (around once a week) due to work. Now I'm back in full force and have never been so hyped for an expansion. Been following the Alpha notes where I can and been watching so many streams. GNOOOOOOOOME HUNTERS. #tamingamanasaber #gnomearmy #petwillbebiggerthanme

I'm excited for the warrior class hall to be like a god and to wield powerful artifact weapons. Also i cant wait to try out a demon hunter and make it my main if they are as good as they look. Finally i look forward to see where they take this story and who the main villains will be in legion. Congrats Icy Veins on 5 years and good luck everyone.

I'm for sure looking forward to demon hunters. I enjoyed my death knight when it first came out as the new hero class and feel like blizzard should be able to handle a hero class again. Also those challenge modes will be good. To have something challenging outside of raising will be a much welcome experience.

SUPER PUMPED!

I feel like it is a vicious cycle... Expansion comes out, Subs Spike, Subs Level off and slowly go down and ramps back up for the next one. I don't think WoW will ever "Die" it will just stay alive for as long as they are releasing new content.

Also Demon Hunter! I wants my double jump!

I'm looking forward to the druid artifacts. But I'll need to finish leveling my druid. One of my favorite memories is healing Kara on my shaman. It was the first dungeon I ever raided as a healer. It was so exciting each time we moved past a new boss

My first character in WoW was a Dwarf Paladin. Started him on 12/25/2004, just over a month after the game released. Over the course of maining this Paladin, I learned about the existence of Ashbringer (through the addition of Corrupted Ashbringer in June 2006).

As expansions passed and I saw the weapon wielded in-game in WotLK, I grew more in love with its lore and fantasy.

I still have that same Paladin to this day (though he's race changed to a Human now), and though I'm not as hardcore as I used to be, I'm unbelievably excited to have the opportunity to wield Ashbringer myself. This is emblematic of one of the things I'm most looking forward to in Legion - a reconnection with the game's incredible lore. I felt like Warlords (and Mists to a lesser extent) stayed away from the fantasy of the game that made WoW great.

I'm looking forward to a return to form with Legion, and, of course, getting the opportunity to wield Ashbringer and other iconic weapons.

As a WoW player, PvE and PvP, I'm super excited for the Artifact weapons and new PvP system. The Weapons all look amazing, the talents look amazing and have such awesome potential to them. The new PvP system will never get boring when it comes to PvP. The skins for weapons look amazing. All in all, Legion will save WoW.

Legion is on of the most anticipated expansions for me. My biggest hype for this expansion is the continuation on my favorite race, the vykrul. We get to see their ancestral lands and their own Valhalla. I've been playing since late BC and the content all winds back to where i started, fighting the legion. I can't wait to see more of what's to come. I have great expectations and it WILL be awesome.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
