Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I want to try if this game will be worth buying because I have lost faith in Blizzard's WoW team when they failed with WoD. I want my old days back! I remember back in TBC when me and my friend went from Darkoshore to Durotar as night elfs just to get my friend a raptor.

My favorite part in legion are so far the massive amount of artifact weapons. It is awesome to see our characters getting their hands on such lore intense weapons, and I am excited to see how we aquire them (I have, so far, been spoiler free). My best memory in WoW is standing before the Lich King. He has always been my absolute favorite character in the universe, and I really enjoyed following his story.

I am really anxious to play the revised enhancement shaman but most of all the storyline for this expansion!

My best memeory form WoW comes from the vanilla WoW beta. With 6 friends we went on a journey at lvl15  from Orgrimmar to Darkshore to get my hunter a striped cat pet. Long story short... it ended up in 3 hours low lvl world pvp  6 against 10 enemies biggrin.png . Almost on any meeting this story surfaces and we still laugh about it .

p.s i did get my cat wink.png

I am not your average WoW player.  I am not a young kid with nimble fingers and excruciatingly accurate hand-eye coordination.  I am a 46 year old housewife with gimpy arthritis and a bad case of old eyes.  Over the 9 years I have been playing WoW I have tried every guide, every how-to article, every bit of advice I could find on ways to make my game play more enjoyable.  I have been to so many different sites over the years but the one that keeps bringing me back is Icy Veins.  It has helped me learn better ways to manage my character so I can focus on my abilities and work around my weaknesses.

From BC I learned how the utilitarian Warlock was just as useful as the quick and agile, which I could never play due to my weaknesses.  The warlock was exactly what I needed.  You taught me how to maintain dots, stretch out my damage and make my survival every bit as good as other classes.

I learned from your helpful guides during WotLK that I could use my hunter to his fullest potential, even though I died a lot in PvP because I was more inclined to stand in one spot rather than skulk around and hop to and fro during a fight, I learned how to maximize my pets usage and to make my output far better, so even though I eventually died, I was able to hold my own on the damage scales of the group.

During Cataclysm, I was shown that even a person with less than perfect reaction times could become a successful healer.  Your easy to understand guides and advice from members showed me that I could manage to be one of my guilds best raid healers by pairing my abilities/weaknesses with the character that matched my style perfectly.  My holy priest became my highlighted character during this time and if it weren't for Icy Veins I would never have had the courage to step into the spotlight and become a healer, not a role for the weak at heart.

When Pandaria blossomed on the horizon, it was thru Icy Veins that I learned the many uses of the monk class.  While I am not a huge fan of melee classes, it showed me that I could still use my monk in a way that allowed me to be useful to a group and still have fun with it. While it is not one of my main stream characters, it is still an enjoyable experience that I would never have even given a chance had I not found such detailed and helpful information here at IV.

Warlords was a challenge to me, and in some ways, still is.  My reflexes have diminished over the years, and my eyesight has not gotten any better, but IV showed me that I can still have fun and explore the new world that WoD brought to the table.  I could never pass the silver challenge on many of my characters, not due to ignorance of the classes inner workings, but due to the personal obstacles I must overcome to be "top" in that challenge series.  IV showed me little tricks that I could use to tease every ounce of ability from my encounters and finally, I was able to pass my silver challenge, and that is good enough for me.  I overcame my shortcomings with the help of IV's suggestions and went on to do so on many of my classes.

Here we stand at the tail end of WoD and peering into the future I see so many opportunities for me to continue to enjoy WoW, and it wouldn't be so if I didn't have the detailed guides that you guys provide.  The new artifact weapons sound AMAZING and the new hero class Demon Hunter is going to be an interesting challenge for me personally, but I'm sure with all the info you have made and will make available over the coming months, that I will be able to enjoy them as much as my other favorites.   The slower side of my game play is really drawn to the transmog options and new wardrobe system.  As a hoarder of outfits and weapons, I have so many banks and alts loaded up with interesting finds I have made over the years, I can't wait to be able to make use of them all finally!

As a personal note of thanks to those of you at Icy Veins that make the game that much better for those of us that aren't elitist jerks, I hope to have many more years of continued patronage.  I Look forward to the goodies you will provide in the ways of little known tips and tricks, Easter eggs on the classes, and ongoing advice to those of us who have the need to fit in with the mainstream while overcoming personal obstacles that would normally keep us out of the group activities.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this old broken lady has not only found a friend in the helpful guides and commentary, but I have passed the knowledge along to my family and friends as I have everyone around me involved in playing as well.  Here's to the future.  *tips glass

Despite my best efforts, I find myself getting hyped for Legion. Pandaria was so lackluster and WoD was such a let down I need Blizzard to deliver on the Hype. Please just don't suck is all I ask

Legion will in fact be one of the best expansions Blizzard have ever made, or it will just be the expansion that will destroy the game, i am looking forward to start trying all the new aspects of the expansion, along with learning my classes and testing out the dungeons and raids because our guild is gonna go back to be a hardcore guild on Legion and we want to push for the highest possible ranks, for hardcore progression there is a lot to be learned in a short period of time regarding the new talents, spells and most importantly, artifact weapons.Blizzard have put the time and effort into this expansion because the game almost died on Warlords of Draenor and they want to revive World Of Warcraft

Since the moment I played World of Warcraft I always imagined playing a Demon Hunter due to Illidan being my alltime favorite in the Warcraft series (Closely followed by Cho'Gall) and now I am getting both in Legion <3Probably gonna end up with atleast 4 Demon Hunters, 1 per Mainrealm and 2 on each Side. Cannot wait to try out the beta and test the class myself sooner or later

I'm excited for the new artifact weapons. I am not as hardcore as I used to be so things like the wardrobe are also a nice addition for me. Anything that gives me something to do beyond raiding and PVP I love

I love you site thanks for that opportunity. What I'm looking  the most in Legion is the class change, what they said about bring back the fantasy of each class. The class order hall, artifact weapon and many other aspect (the updated animation) are also very attractive. But I want to feel what is like to be a warlock and not just a mage with shadow bolt, i want the 3 hunter spec to feel different. I want each and every spec feel unique. And don't forget the Demon Hunter .

My fondest Warcraft memory was downing Heroic Archimonde last year. This expansion was my first foray into tanking and I joined up with an amazing guild to do so.
After many trials and tribulations through Highmaul, Blackrock Foundry and Hellfire Citadel we made it; I wouldn't trade those moments for the world.

I cannot wait to play a demon hunter in legion and explore the new areas awaiting us. I look forward to class halls and being able to converse with the opposite faction. I'd say my most memory was raiding in Siege of Orgrimmar as it was the first time I'd been in a raid group that was leading the way in content clearing and I had the #1 hunter on the server at the time. I miss those days and look forward to the possibility of legion bringing me back in!

I´m playing Paladin since the start of BC and i´m so hyped about Legion because of the artifact weapons, the return of Illidan (defeating him in BT was my most favourite memory in WoW) and all the lore stuff(finally the legion is back!)

Also i cant wait for the new class-guides on icy-veins. Keep up the good work! (not only for WoW, for the other games too!)

Greetings and Happy Birthday

Goht

I'm very much looking forward to the new artifact weapons as an afflciton warlock. This is very reminicent of the old talent system I had back in BC when we had a million talents and sub-specs to choose. Illidan, I WILL BE PREPARED this time!

When it comes to Legion, I'm most excited about getting back into a good storyline. WoD had promise at the start, but I feel like it really dragged it heels and now just kinda feels like setup for Legion. This makes me optimistic about Legion, though! Well, story and the artifact weapon system.

I've been playing since vanilla, and have always been really into pvp. I played wow hardcore up until pandaria and wod in which I was on and off. However the new pvp honor system and focus on creating quality pvp content really hooks me. Thanks for having this giveaway! (:

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
