Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm really excited for the new pvp prestige and talents, seems like it going to be a huge timesink, which is the main thing I play wow for, and something I really missed in WoD.

The fondest memories I have of WoW was when I was a new player, when everything was super new, and confusing.

I would say my fondest memory from WoW, was making friends with some random girl in a random queue dungeon while leveling an alt. We struck up a friendship and this October 2016 will be celebrating our second anniversary as a married couple and fourth anniversary since we started dating.

I am looking forward to tanking as a demon hunter in Legion for sure.

The main thing I'm hyped for is Fury warriors. It just seems to match what a fury warrior should be - A berserker hacking and slashing his way through everything he sees, only downside is that it's maybe a little too rampage focused? Not sure, all I know is fury looks better than it ever has! biggrin.png I'm excited for the Gul'dan fight, because I want to know how he turned into that form! PvP seems a lot better too in Legion, so so far I'm really excited for it!

I'm mostly looking forward to the Demon Hunter. I really like the mobile play style in lots of different games, and I hope to be one of the first Demon Hunter to achieve lots of things in my server. Thanks guys for the competition!

The new Animations and the new Transmog overhaul have me the most excited so far.I am also a fan of any design that make specializations feel more unique, especially for the pure DPS classes. Outlaw rogue and Survival hunter are, in theory, very flavorful and unique designs, so I hope they live up to the hype.I was not sold on Demon Hunter at first but after seeing them in combat I am coming around. They are flashy and aesthetically very pleasing, which is great from the "spectator / e-sports" pov. It's nice that you can very clearly see the "beats" of the fight when they dash in, dash away, go demon mode, ect. The combat animations look well done, it is unfortunate they only have 2 specializations but maybe a third will get added for them at some point down the road.  We will see how the artifact weapon system pans out, on one hand it is cool to "level up" a weapon and customize its appearance and abilities, on the other hand it is very restrictive for some classes in terms of transmog and weapon drops are a very exciting thing so trade-offs might not be worth it, time will tell

I came onboard the wow train later than most probably since I was only introduced to it in college by my friend right after Cataclysm came out. We had some amazing times there and we had a great social guild with funny and helpful people. Then I got into dota hardcore and only played on and off for a long while. After generally liking WoD,  I'm kind of hyped for legion now after seeing all the stuff they'll be adding to the game. Since i'm finally off the dota drug now, I think I'm ready to get into WoW full time now :D

I am so psyched to try out Legion. As a relatively new Raid Leader for a guild, I'm trying my best to learn as much as I can about each and every class spec and each and every encounter. I've watched so many videos on all the classes in Legion and I just cannot wait to get my hands on it myself to find out what I can do to help best prepare my guild for the new expansion, and maybe even get a realm first as our realm is relatively small.

I remember the first time I ever raided. It was back in Wrath and we were fighting Patchwerk. I was supposed to be one of the tanks for a 25 man group. I didn't really know what I was doing as a tank, as all I had done before was DPS, but because I knew DK's could be tanks, I signed up to be a tank for a group. I never taunted and we wiped a ton, until a rogue said that he heard about a guy who off tanked Patchwerk as a rogue with avoidance gear, so they tried that.. They kept me in as DPS for God knows why. We didn't end up getting the kill, but I remember thinking that it was insane that the rogue was actually able to tank. They brought in another tank after a while and I was able to get my first raid boss kill ever. It was a glorious moment.

I really enjoy playing World of Warcraft. I started in Classic and I relive each expansion as a new game and there is always something new that makes me happy that I can still play this game.My fondest memories are hitting for the first time 2k rating in arenas in The Burning Crusade (with my brother :] ) and fully completing raid Throne of Thunder in Mists of Pandaria. In Legion I am really looking forward to new PvP system because new Prestige system and separated talents open window for a lot of opportunities and more interesting gameplay.I think Artifacts ( learning their origins, collecting artifact powers, activate new appearances ) are really nice idea for a late game content ( desire to achiev it with every class). In PvE I personally specialize in raid healing and I have a lot of feedback that I would like to share with others but I cannot because I don't have acces to alpha/beta

I guess i'd like a key.

The raiding in WoW has always been good, but for the most part i've been very disappointed by the content outside of raiding.

I'm primarily looking forward to seeing what content they provide outside of raids that is either challenging or encourages people to play together. I guess i'm interested in the new CMD though i'm worried about spells like corpse explosion are going to make it extremely melee unfriendly.

I'm not even sure where to begin talking about this expansion. First off the artifact weapons are... Incredible... And are actually making my decision on what class to level first very difficult... I'm still stuck between the incredible fire mage weapon (themed around basically being Kael'Thas)...the frost dk shards of frostmourne... Or the incredible story that has been created for demon hunters and their existence in our world. Beyond this I'm excited to explore the new land and learn as much as I can about the lore of the burning legion and the broken isles :)

Can't even describe how hyped I am for Legion. Really looking forward to the new class, mostly haha but I really can't wait to try out and see how the artifact weapons are.

I can't wait to use melee weapons again as a hunter, adding a new dimension to my favorite aspect of the game: transmogrification.

I am looking forward to artifact weapons the most. Having a contact sense of character progression in the way of a powerful weapon was really fun in ff14. So bringing it to wow in a different way really excites me. Also unlocking transmogrify and passives whiten the artifacts is amazing and I will enjoy unlocking all of it.

Other then that i'm interested in questing in the new zones. I think blizzard is doing a good job with every expansion with how they handle quests.

I'm incredibly excited to raid in Legion! The raids are looking very cool, as with their bosses and mechanics, the lore about these raids are crazy too! Actually going into the emerald dream!? Xavius!? Finishing Gul'dan once and for all!?! The tomb of Sargeras!? Super Hyped.

The new continent looks beautiful as well, i'm a sucker for exploring new places, and i can't wait to sink my teeth into the Broken Isle's. I don't think i've been this hyped for an expansion since WotLK was announced. Also, Dalaran. Oh my god my favorite city hub is coming back and being relevant again. One of the best choices ever made!!

Hey everyone,

I'm looking forward to the new monk mechanics. I had a lot of fun since MoP trying to develop various WA strings to help me (and everyone!) track every usefull information on a minimal design.

The new SEF looks really awsome and I'm curious to see how the images handle their targets on their own.

Also the new mastery brings up a new and fun rotation. I always liked monk because there is no "fireball, fireball, pyro" rotation, and to min max we'll have to work on our muscle memory to make it perfect!

Needless to say, i'm HYPED! :D

Where to start. When it comes to Legion there is a lot i am actually looking forward to. For example the Demon Hunters. I want to get to know the lore more and know exactly what is going on since Black Temple till the current time in the time line, this will hopefully give us more lore on what the hell happened to Illidan and why Gul'dan needs him. I am looking forward to all the different class changes coming to Legion as they make classes look new and refreshing. I want to try ones that are completely brand new or reworked like Demonology Warlock, Outlaw Rogue, Survival Hunter, Unholy DK and obviously the two Demon Hunter specs Havoc and Vengeance. I am looking forward to exploring the new zones. Delving deep into their lore and seeing what has been happening on the broken isles and what us champions need to do to help the inhabitants. My favourite zone is Val'sharah because the Emerald Nightmare corruption seems absolutely amazing and the story gripped me in seconds. Also I want to see the dungeons and test them out. See how hard they potentially are. I know challenge modes aren't currently out but I really want to see how they'll work and how challenging they would be. I also want to see how the story of the zones are worked with the dungeons seeing as the dungeons are the ending to the zones. The PvP system seems very interesting and worth trying. It might make me get hooked again by adding an actual progression system with the honor leveling, seeing as I am a completionist I'd love to just grind it out for the artifact + recolours + whatever else is given to me for prestiging. And finally the raids. Even though most of the information about the raids haven't been released. I'm very very excited to see how the encounters will play out and what mechanics there are involving the raid. As well as what the Mythic mechanics are. What the new tier sets look like for the classes and what the 2 and 4 piece bonuses are and how they affect the class meta. As for the past. I have enjoyed a lot of things. Going through the content for the first time. Exploring the world. The laughs the cries. Stepping into a raid for the first time and being blown away by not just the scenery but also a mechanic on a boss killing me because I was bad. Then it was all about the learning curve. When you practise and read and learn and you actually get better at the game. Reading tactics, studying how to play your class effectively those moments were way more fun and I put a lot of time into learning this, more time than I put into my studies for school. Every raid tier has been amazing. The team cannot go wrong with their raid tiers. PvP has always been fun but never been hardcore into it. Only running battlegrounds occasionally for fun with some friends and we just mess around. Other than that there really isn't much else to say. I am very nostalgic of the past. Excited for the future of WoW in Legion and beyond. Blizzard always finds a way to bring me back to WoW and become a die hard fan.

I look forward to all the rebuilding and redesigning they've done with the classes. While I enjoy the classes as they are now the new redesigned classes seem to be more different in style and play than currently. But mostly I look forward to hopefully seeing Illidan in action again and try out the new demon hunter class!

The subject interests me most in Legion is whether it is possible to be a altholic. One of the reasons why wow game (and to some extent a reason why I frequently entered Icy-veins), is the ability to change who I am in the game. From an angry warrior berserk, ah shaman who controls the elements or a magician who knows the secrets of the arcane.

WoD remove much of the ability to easily change "alt" and others have turned a cumbersome task. So I want to see if Legion has done something to correct this, if it's fun again to play different toons. I remember those times where you could change the character without feeling that I was staying late or I was being irrelevant.

I want to have the surprise of seeing so for a hunter is hard (lol, I'm kidding: hunters OP !!!) is much easier to achieve for a priest or the difference a paladin and monk may have when make tank against a boss.

That's what I want most when you first enter Legion, feel that every one of my alts is different and has something unique to bring to the game.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
