Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Hello! You guys are awesome for doing this. Big thanks to you and Blizz for even having the chance of getting in thanks to this.

One of my favorite WoW memories was my bad tutor. I was very bad at the game when I joined, and I mean bad. My first dungeon achievement is like a year after I joined. I remember playing, this was back in I think 2010, and I was in highschool still. I was confused about many things. For starters, I didn't understand how my backpack was enough space for all the loot I got from killing mobs. I didn't understand what the red armor icon meant on my screen. And I had any in-game tutorials off at the recommendation of a friend, who didn't have time to show me the ropes.

So naturally I turned to someone in-game and asked them for help. They picked me up and told me at level 20 I should not be killing mobs in Elwynn to level. So, they took me to Blackrock Mountain and set me free.

To die. A lot.

They told me it was because I hadn't trained enough- and that the more I died, my 'defense' would build up. I trusted them, they gave me 50 gold! They said the red armor icon was that my gear was the absolute best it could be at that level (I hadn't equipped new gear in about five levels) and said that as a hunter, I should keep my pet on passive or else it would run away.

Needless to say, I was told by someone else that everything I was taught... was wrong. The lady that helped me out was the GM of the first real guild I was in, and became one of my best friend at the time. She corrected all that false information, put up with my millions of questions, and showed me around the eastern kingdoms and told me that the ships in Stormwind wouldn't start a max level pirate encounter that would glitch my game out as my bad tutor said. So I got to see Darnassus! She was wonderful, and I miss her and the rest of that guild to this day.

Now for Legion. I'm excited for a new land, of course. I'm excited for the new lore with the nightfallen, and boy am I excited for Highmountain! I love the Tauren, I love mountains, I love anything Hunter- that zone sounds perfect for me!

I'm excited for hunters with spears, I'm excited for stories with the characters I've grown attached to. I'm excited for Legion because it looks like a labor of love. Every change, every new idea, new piece being added looks like it's taken straight out of the hearts from the people who made the game I fell in love with. And I love that. I can see and feel the passion in the videos I watch of the legion dungeons and I'm excited to get to experience that for myself now!

Congratulations Icy Veins!

I've watched this site looking for information since the beggining and i'm glad to participate on this.

This expansion can be the most "extreme" with its changes and i'm so excited waiting to learn to play all the classes and specs another time.

11 years have passed... i really expect a great Blizzard's job after this lack of content for one year.

See u all soon!

My daughter and I are so very excited to create a Demonhunter. We love to play together and explore new classes. We have leveled pandas, worgens, and goblins together during the past expansions and looking forward to exploring the new class together. We have a strategy, we wait out the first wave of the first month of the expansion and we like to play together late at night on saturday nights so we don't have to fight to many crowds for quests. It worked very well for us when we started our pandas and hopefully it will be a good experience this time again. The only real problem we have is our faction choice. I usually give in to her, after all she is my only daughter *sigh* how I ended up with an ally girl I don't quite understand but at least we are playing together.

I'm really looking forward for the Lore Plot Twists to come and can't wait to know who will be the endboss.

I enjoyed to collect mounts, transmoggear, legendaries and stuff.

Happy Birthday IV, thanks for the great work!

I'm actually really looking forward to the Vengeance Demon Hunter. I've gathered a passion for tanking over the past 2 years and I'm loving every tank in the game with the exception of the Paladin. My favourite is a tank with lots of mobility (currently monk) so a Demon Hunter tank looks down my alley wub.png . Also with the new changes being implemented I might start PVPing again due to talents and prestige. The artifact weapon looks as well as the other incentives to just go there and try it again are just too high laugh.png . Best of luck to everyone in the competition who wants a beta key, hopefully I'll get one if not then I'll just wait until September smile.png .

I'm mostly looking forward to those sweet sweet melee sound effects and animations--and to see what they do with my favorite spec, arms. I can't wait to run wild in pvp with those glorious strikes. If I were to express some hopes for legion it'd be that arms gets a little bit more attention than it has so far, and get some sick mechanics.

Although I've accumulated many fond memories in all of these years, my fondest are of finding a game within the game: in particular, one long evening where me and some stranger had started a party in brill and eventually gone on to chase down some max level alliance that had decided to show up.

Hi there!

At the begining i love Your site, it helps me a lot! Keep up the good work.

What my best expierience with WoW? Back in the days i loved leveling expierience and i loved how it improved in WoD (one of the few bright sites of xpack). I'm looking forward to see how it'll work in Legion because it looks like it will be even more fun. Also i'm dedicated pvp player so i'm curious how revamped system will work when xpack hits in. I would be glad if i could join beta and test few my fav specs in PvP :)

Cheers from Polnad!

PS. Sorry for my english :D

I am looking forward to the new 5 mans the have done. It looks like they have put a lot of effort into them and seeing as wow continues to become more casual, it would be nice if they released more 5/10 man content at the start of an expansion and continue to release at least more 5 man content throughout the expansion.

I'm really looking forward to the artifact weapons. I enjoyed garrisons and shipyards quite a bit, so I'm also excited to see the class halls - hoping we'll see other players, but knowing Blizzard they'll likely be just the player and a bunch of NPCs (though hopefully we can bring other members of our group into the class halls). The previews I've seen so far for each class hall are amazing; can hardly wait to see what the final results are

I'm really looking forward to new wow content in general, and from the looks of it Legion will not disappoint. I'm a casual player who mostly enjoys playing solo, but wow has been such an integral part of my life for years. I always come back to it, and i cant wait to get my hands on legion. The single feature I'm most excited for would be the new Demon Hunter class, as I'm a long time Illidan fan.

I remember back when I was in the 3rd grade, first getting my hands on wow. I never stuck with a character past level 15 (Vanilla leveling... dear god) until the Burning Crusade came around. My first time hitting max level was during the ZA patch of BC, and god did it feel like an accomplishment. I would wake up at 5 am every morning and quest before going to school. And in school all i could do was daydream about going home and playing more wow. When i hit 70 for the first time, i was still a complete noob, but even though i had a real sense of accomplishment, unbeknownst to myself my wow journey was far from over. I managed to convince a small raiding guild i was 17 (i was 13) and they brought me on my first kara run and ever since then ive been in love with raiding. We steamrolled those bosses, and i was being handed loot like it was candy, since no one really needed it. I was amazed, and shocked, and all I wanted to do was play more. Since then my life has gone through ups and downs, and ive quit wow and come back to it more times than i can remember. But I know that regardless of the expansion, i ALWAYS come back to wow. It has a special place in my heart that i dont think any other game will ever even get close to.

To the Icy-veins team, you guys are awesome! Keep doing the good work. Any time i need to freshen up on the latest class changes, this is the place i go to. Its so cool you guys are doing this for the community. Thank you for this chance and I'll see you all in Legion!

Like so far every expansion I played, I'm mostly looking forward for the new leveling.

I love the thrill to contest with my friends over who will be the first to reach max level! After literally rushing through the content at first to get ahead of the first wave of players we mostly slow down and just enjoy the setting. And from what we already saw from Alpha regions like Stormheim kicks A**!!

So even if it's just to get a small kickstart ahead of my friends, I would love to play the Beta and enjoy the beautiful world of Legion!

Cheers.

I keep myself uptaded daily, know why this invitation this last waves are going to give players.I'll make accurate feedback and play a role to wow be the best as it always.

Im really exited about the whole expansion. I can't wait to see an updated Dalaran, the artifacts look amazing, as do the class halls. My main, a ret pally, gets Ashbringer. Not to much is cooler than that. Then there are demon hunters, been wanting to play one since BC. The class changes look, for the most part, good as well. I don't even pvp much, but I think the new prestige system looks pretty cool as well. The new zones look fantastic! Basically, the whole xpac looks awesome!

In Legion I'm most excited about Demon Hunters - I always had a hope that someday they will be a playable class so now it will be great to really see them in action. Besides, Illidan is my favourite hero since Warcraft III and I'm glad we'll see him again.

My fondest memory from WoW is when I first stepped through the Dark Portal to Outland - the feeling of adventure in this new, unexplored world.

I'm hyped for new raids, since Legion will be my first expansion where I actually can raid properly from the start!

I really enjoy alts. Leveling alts, gearing alts, skilling up professions etc. You can tell by me having 14 level 100's at this moment, spread across several realms and both factions.

What I'm looking forward to the most in Legion is all the lore-heavy artifact weapons progression. I have at least one character of each class, each of them have three specs which makes 34 different artifact weapons to level and enjoy the lore of (36 with the Demon Hunter!). It'll take a long time, but I'm very much looking forward to playing each and every spec in Legion!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
