Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am looking forward to playing the demon hunter in Legions.  What I enjoy best about playing WoW was that no matter where I am or where my brother is we could always get on and team up for some dungeons or raids.

I am looking forward to the artifact quest lines (i haven't watched a single spoiler video yet) and i really want to start a demon hunter too. I really want to see how the new daily quest system will work out with this zone system. I also hope the new dungeons will be very good so the new heroic dungeon system will be extra fun.

I'm very much looking forward to new zones to explore, artifact weapons, and the class halls! I play a hunter and I can't wait for the cozy Trueshot Lodge! :) New dungeons will also be nice.

As for my favorite moment, that's hard to pick since I've been playing WoW for 9 years. But I'll have to go with when I first started raiding Kara with my guild back in BC! Those were some really good times and started a fun healing career that lasted up until WoD when I decided I felt like shooting things (hence the previously mentioned hunter) haha :)

I am looking forward to playing a Demon Hunter I have wanted that all the way back from burning crusade!! Some of my favorite moments in WoW are generally mount related as I am a mount collector. Key moments that come to mind were when I get Ashes of Alar, Mimron's Head, and most recently Pureblood Firehawk and Invincible!

As a very casual PvP player I find that I'm very excited about the new pvp system. The fact that I don't get left behind due to not playing as much as another intrigues me and creates a desire to play more. Also the removal of some abilities is actually a refreshing update since I felt overwhelmed if I didn't play consistently.

Also I am very excited about the legion artifact system especially coming from a dual wield frost DK!! I can't wait to get my hands on those bad boys.

I even plan on trying out some more pve content this expansion because I've always been a fan of the bosses that are coming up.

My favorite wow moment I can remember irl would have to be skipping out on a beautiful Hawaiian surf day on the north shore to hang out with my buddies in my friends basement when TBC dropped. We pulled on an all nighter thanks to Dr Pepper while creating a can pyramid next to our one friends bed who passed out early. Right as he stepped out of bed he received a fun awakening.

Favorite moment in game would have to be finally hitting grand Marshall in vanilla after the hardcore grind.

Without having to say it thanks icy veins for putting up the content I've been using for quite some time.

Im actually really looking forward to the artifact weapons, even tho my main is a feral druid and I cant believe we are given Daggers... even so, its looking good for legion mostly across the board imo. Really want to test out DH they look sick.

And the pvp revamp might actually make me do more than cap every week :)

There are a number of things that I'm desperately looking forward to in Legion. The new transmog system is going to be amazing. My inventory is full to the brim of items that I don't even need, but want to have in my wardrobe when it is released. I love working on my transmog and it's one of the things that keeps me going back to do older content.

Historically, I've been a PvP player first and never tried to do many raids. In Warlords that has changed for me and has opened up my world to very fun content that I've been holding myself out of for a very long time. I'm really excited to go into a new expansion with a focus on clearing content and trying to get ahead of the curve achievements while at the same time being able to dabble in PvP without worrying about farming my gear.

The third thing I"m looking forward to is my mother loving Doomhammer!

I have really mixed feelings about this new artifact system. I really love the idea about owning the most powerful weapons of Azeroth, and as a lore person and old epic items hoarder i love the concept about feeling all mighty and powerful with this bad ass weaponry. But at the same time, i really don't know how to feel them killing of so many bad ass characters or them losing their faith, only to give us their weapons. I really don't like it. It just seems odd how we, as heroes, have undergone a transformation from being nearly nobodys/pretty normal soldiers, to being captains and army leaders, and in the end, in Legion we will become leaders of or own class. I feel like we, as mortals, end up with way too much power and responsibility. Nearly as much, as the nephalems in Diablo 3.

I'm really looking forward to how destruction warlocks play in Legion. Been playing one for a couple years and hope there will be more to the class than spamming chaos bolts.

My old guild just decided to come back to prepare for Legion.  Nothing like getting the band back together after missing multiple expansions and picking right up where we dropped off.  Our goal has been to build and setup for Legion so we can be a force once again, can't wait to get started!

I am mostly looking forward to having new content to play, as well as the transmog wardrobe and the new pets to collect. All of my characters are ranged casters, but the double jump and glide of Demon Hunters looks interesting so I'll give that a try and see if it holds my interest better than Death Knights did.

My favorite memories of the game are mostly back in Vanilla with my first guild. From our first Ragnaros kill, to accidentally wiping the raid on Vael with flame shield, to crashing the server with mass AOE on the ledge to BWL, times were simpler back then!

I am looking forward to challenge new raids, hunting achievements and capture new pets. The new pvp system is also very nice.

I'm most looking forward to the addition of engineering items as toys and the new transmog system. My bags are so full right now, so it'll be nice to be able to breathe again.

My fondest memory was some light progression raiding during Wrath with my friends and family guild. We weren't great, but we made progress and had a lot of fun.

My proudest moment in the game, has been to see one of my old guildies become any Icy-Veins writer.  I knew Gahdda, or Gahddo at that time he used to play enh, when he was in highschool playing in my guild <Rameumptom> on Illidan during Cataclysm.  We weren't a good guild, and we definitely didn't aid in building him up to the point of becoming the simc fiend he is.  However, that iteration of a raid team was the best fun I had to date.

I'm looking forward to playing the game, again, with a majority of that raid team.  Some of them moved on to bigger things (Gahhdo), some moved on to different games/points in their lives, but maybe with enough convincing from me all those guys will come back for laughs with an LDS guild name without an LDS member >.<.

P.S.:  If anyone has been in VOIP with Gahddo, I'm sorry for what we caused.  Me along with my officer team are the cause of him getting a microphone. :P

I'm looking forward to just explore new stuff in Azeroth again. The beginning of an expansion is the favorite time for me in WoW, so just to have that first time experience in the game again will be magical.

I've been following just about everything from the legion alpha that I can and I would love to take part in the beta. Normally I just wait for the expansion to come out, but after having seen so much stuff, I really wanna see a few of the changes in action, and I won't lie, I really want to see how the Warrior class hall looks in person, (In character?) Mostly because I love my warrior, but also because I love Nordic stuff.

Professions are another thing that play into wanting to be in the beta. I've seen a few notes here and there about timed quests and the like scattered around the Broken Isles. After spending so long inside my Garrison I think it's pretty nice that we're rewarded for exploring (Or at least going to the marker on the map) with some extra artifact power and XP. Makes the crafting seem so much more useful.

My favorite WoW moment: Getting my Netherwing drake. Onyxien, whom I still use to this day. I didn't really mind the dailies as i felt I was working towards something. And in the end I was given not a mount, but a compatriot. A friend.

Good luck to everybody, I hope you enjoy the beta if you get in. See you all on launch.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
