Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I've always been into great 5-man content (burning crusade was the peak of dungeon greatness). I'm looking forward to new 5-man content, and questing. The lore has to be on point this expansion.

I'm really looking forward to the whole artifact thing, plus the class halls really interests me for some reason. I've never been all that into PvP before, but the honor system and the new arenas that I've seen on alpha might change my mind. I've been playing since BC so seeing the new content and going back in time seems really cool to me.

The other thing that really appeals to me is the transmorg system that will be put in place. Having the available options without the bag space or void storage issue sounds wonderful. All in all, I'm just excited to see all the changes.

I Started playing the Warcraft franchise when warcraft 3 came out and was hooked on the idea of Illidan since he first appeared. By far the story that fascinated me the most was Illidan Vs. Arthas. Now that Demon hunter is finally becoming a hero class in wow, I am excited and am counting down every day, praying to get into the beta to begin my epic journey through the Broken Isles as a Demon Hunter.

I'm interested in most of the contents in legion, but I liked to see the new pvp honor system and the new class changes most of all

I'm very excited to play Demon Hunter. I love the theme of the class, the gameplay of the class, and the mobility they have. I cant wait to get my hands on that. I also am supremely excited for the enhancement shaman updates. They look very fun.

Additionally, Im excited for the animation updates for all the classes.

Man, how far this site has come in just 5 years.

I remember first hearing about it around the start of MoP and have been a frequent lurker since.  Wonderfully made guides and posts overall over the years.  It has truly been a great resource for all Blizzard games.

On to the actual contest.  Legion is the make it or break it time for WoW in my opinion.  This expansion will either bring back a lot of players or send the rest away for good.  Some of the things I have seen so far are good in terms of content and lore.  Ability pruning seems to be a hot button issue with a lot of players (especially PvPers) but I think there are some pros and cons to it.  Interested to see how some of my favorite classes play out (Holy Paladin, MW Monk) moving forward as well since I like some of the changes that I am seeing.  Its got me excited but super nervous at the same time, so here is hoping that it is worth the hype....unlike WoD.

Best of luck everyone!

I can't wait to be able to level again and gear up for that first raids release.  It was a lot of fun getting the ilvls up for highmaul.  I enjoyed the difficulty level of heroic dungeons when WoD released and we were all undergeared.

Now that I have a home in a guild established at the start of an expansion and some mythic raiding experience, I can't wait to race with the other guilds on my server.

Also looking forward to the gold making opportunities that are present at the beginning of an expansion.

What I cannot wait for and hope is better then wod is the boss fights in the raids being harder and fun at the same time. My favourite memory of world of Warcraft is entering karazan for the first time back in burning crusade because it was the first raid I did back then and I was quite younger and didn't know how to really play till my guild at the time helped me.

I'm looking forward to challenge modes - any way to keep the content going longer and get rewarded for it in a sustainable way!

My fondest memory is when I eventually solo'd Baron in Stratholme on my rogue in Classic - was challenging for me and so gratifying when I got it done.

I can't wait for Legion! I've been following the alpha news a lot, i'm most excited about being able to play the different spec changes like Survival hunter and the changes in fury warrior, but i'm also excited about the new pvp-system.

looking forward to how the story continues, how the artifacts turn out ingame. I am also pretty much excited about seeing all the new areas and quests, exploring every corner, and i can't wait to play all my twinks again to experience the class changes, lately i am not playing them so much since i got a bit bored. And i am pretty damn hyped about the zones that will scale with lvl, since i was always sad about outlvling a zone so fast and not having done half of the quests there before i am too high lvl to make a use of them.

The relevance of 5-man content again and the profession changes. Craft in an MMO has always been an interest to me. Cool items like the moll-ee and Jeeves were good and in Jeeves case, having to farm all the mats and plans over 3 expansions made the final goal of crafting him feel like an achievement.

The art style of the new dungeons look amazing also, especially The Arcway and the Maw of Souls.

The changes to the UI in regards to the way the talents and specs work. being able to change them on the fly is a huge increase in convenience as Í play Prot/Ret and I'm forever changing talents from boss to trash to boss.

All in all I'm looking forward to an expansion where they haven't shown massive amounts but what they have shown looks very very good.

Best memory of wow must be server first kill on the onyxia and nefarian fight in cata :D

I personally am looking forward to all the lore integration being done in Legion.  Seeing lore moments in the world and finding new things has always been a great experience for me in any game.   One of my fondest memories in WoW was leveling a shaman in Wrath with a friend.  We both started our shamans at different times but decided to level together when we ended up being the same level.  As an ele (me) and enhance (him) we were able to crush all of the 5 man quests in Wrath and it was a crazy amount of fun.  Outside that raiding with a group of people excites me the most, that feeling of accomplishment when you finally down a boss.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
