Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I gotta say, I'm incredibly hyped for the fine tuning that's coming in Legion, particularly for each and every class. Having played since I was a wee noob in Vanilla, I've gotten to see how the game started and watched how much it's grown, and I have a deep appreciation for Blizzard having put in so much effort to revamp models, animations, class specs, and everything countless times. Now that we've had models updated for Draenor and we're getting spell and class reworks for Legion, I'm excited - this should be a brand new experience. I'm really hopeful for yet another breath of new life into an already timeless game.

Favorite moments? Getting into absolute shenanigans with friends. Whether it's craziness in running new content, finally getting that slick mount drop from old content, or finding out how many different ways we can die to the train "boss" in Ulduar, this game has been so special to me because it's given me a whole lot of fun with friends who live afar. Legion should be no exception to that, and I look forward to tackling it with those friends!

I personally am ecstatic for the new PVP system. I look forward for a larger sense of accomplishment than a set of PVP specific gear and a High Rating. Also looking forward to the Artifact weapon chains.

I'm looking forward to the EPICNESS that the expansion is going to bring.

Finally we get to see Hero Classes, Artifacs and massive areas.

With this Addon Blizzard seems to really embrace the fantasy aspects of World of Warcraft going back to some

of the more memorable characters like Illidan.

Happy Anniversary, Icy-Veins! smile.png

Two exciting things announced in the title - I'm hyped. Love Icy-Veins for all the help it's been for me throughout the years, and I'm super excited about the Legion beta coming around.

Anyway, there's many changes with Legion that I'm looking forward to experiencing. The artifact weapons, Demon Hunters, new talents, etc. I'm really looking forward to see how the new PvP system works, though. Most of what I do in-game has revolved around PvP as of late, but it's gotten a bit stale so a change to its dynamics is exciting. It's great that they're adding new maps and making it less about having the best gear. I'm also interested in seeing how the prestige system plays out. I'm also looking forward to the transmog changes. My characters have been hording gear in their banks for so long, would be nice to get some of that space back!

Thanks for this opportunity, Icy-Veins; and good luck, everyone!

I haven't been playing wow long, just since about December, but, my brother has had many a Warcraft moment to share with me.  But personally, the first time I ran Black Fathoms deep with a dungeon crew.  I had read up on what my role was (tank), and what I should accomplish in that time.  We ran the dungeon in under 10 minutes and when we were done, I had earned almost all the loot for my pally out of the dungeon.  I even got notes from the group about how to better pull and mitigate aggro.  It was awesome and kept me coming back to the dungeons for interesting content.

I am super looking forward to seeing more dungeons, and eventually getting to raids if I can help it.  But the legacy weapons bit is fascinating to me.  The lore has hooked me hard, and too get my pally to eventually wield Ashbringer makes my palms sweaty with anticipation.

I'm just really excited to get back into WoW. I had a lot of fun in the past because of the story and class mechanics and both seem to be making a strong comeback in Legion. I've always loved WoW as an MMO and can't wait for a reason to jump back in :)

WoW can be such an immersive experience; I'm looking forward to new zones and models to enjoy, new music, cutscenes and quests - it all makes me feel like part of a story. I still enjoy leveling through the old stories, but of course new are always exciting!

I'm mostly interested in seeing the changes in legion that will allow for more customization. The addition of artifacts and pvp talents feels like the old days when you had many more options. you could put a few talents in holy then a few in prot and then load up in ret. I like the idea of the prestige system but at the same time it changes the main aspect of  the game for me of grinding for the best gear but I look forward to seeing it play out.

I'm pretty hyped for this expansion. Always look forward to new raid content but I love the new Challenge Mode format and pvp talents/prestige.

I'm probably main switching to demon hunter (from WW monk) so that will be exciting too and I get to do all the rep grinds for a 3rd time!

I'm really excited for the new Artifact Wepons, who doesn't want to fight with one of the most powerful weapons of Azeroth?
I'm also really happy to see the new Transmog system, it's time they rework it and give us more options:) But most I'm happy for is new Raids and Dungeons, like the new Violet Hold.

I've just finished reading Chronicles 1 and literally only just found out about Suramar. I don't want to spoil anything but It's killing me  to find out whether a certain powerful magi might be there. On the gameplay side I'm looking forward to wielding Ashbringer and kicking ass - just in general.  I'm really impressed with the PvP focus and drawback on homogenization so far. I never really like the 'bring the player not the class' movement, it got rid of a lot of class flavor in my opinion.

My favorite memory from wow and I'm not really sure why is just dying to Thaddius over and over again because of Seal of Blood. I knew I would die by going ham but I just couldn't stop, it became a ritual.  Every week I would die and every week my guild leader would tell me how dumb I was. - "every god damn time." in his words.

What I would give just to hear that man yell at me - one more time.

Looking forward to the new class halls and orders, loved the garrisons, but, I think the new class halls/orders are a step in the right direction to improve on the garrison idea.

Also looking forward to the new class specific Artifact Weapons and the progression paths, miss the old days of the talent trees, this brings it back, to a degree.

What I expect most to Legion, is the discovery of the new continent. The artifact like very much too. I have always appreciated the Warcraft universe, I hope the lore will really developed this extension.

The new pvp system really interests me, and allow me to get back!

Right now I would say I am hyped for Legion but the big thing in partifcular? I'm going to have to say Artifact weapons and the new Demon Hunter class, both look very fun and interesting from all the footage I've seen leading up from the Alpha. I've got every class leveled so I'm ready for the full xpac as well.

From Warlords I'd say one thing I enjoyed a lot was the new leveling system and bonus objectives. The leveling felt way smoother in WoD than it did for MoP and Cata, I'm not quite sure what it was but it flowed for me pretty seemlessly and I loved the touch they added for the cinematics for almost every zone, it made the story feel much more alive and engaging, hope they decide to build off of that even more in Legion.

Thank you for doing this!!

I am definitely most looking forward to PVP Balance in Legion. I play WoW mostly for PVP, and I felt like the PVP in WoD is close to unplayable. I ended up raiding through most of Draenor because of the issues in current PVP, so a much needed overhaul is definitely what I anticipate most.

As for past memories, my favorite is and always will be the unlocking of the AQ gates. Never have I ever experienced such a real 'open world' feel as I did during those weeks farming resources to open the gates, and running to Silithus as a level 55 warrior. My computer couldn't handle that event, but even through 5-10 FPS, it was still a magnificent journey.

Good luck to all participants :)

What I want is them to fix Paladins. Our damage outside of wings is like hitting people with a pool noodle. Hopefully ret going more melee based will help improve this.

I am really looking forward to the changes to Frost Death knights. The talents look awesome, and I can't wait to wield my runeblades made from the shards of Frostmourne.

I am glad they are going back to more spec specific talents, granted it's not as good as the old talent trees in Wrath, but it's still better than what it is currently.

I am most looking forward to the Demon Hunter in Legion! I am a sucker for new and exciting content and a new class always does the trick : )

The artifact weapons are also a close second for me. I am an altoholic so artifacts give me something really cool to do on all of my alts.

I started my WOW journey the day TBC came out almost ten years ago and what was supposed to be few weeks of fun back then turned into few amazing years. Because of job & family I wasn't there for last two expansions but theme of Legion brings so many memories that I already decided I am coming back to fight the Legion (just "for few weeks" again smile.png )

I am really looking forward to the story of the expansion since I still remember the day my guild defeated the lord of Outland Illidan Stormrage in his Black Temple. I am glad it took the Betrayer only ten years this time to come back, not his iconic "ten thousand years", since this time around He is the one not prepared - for both those of us who will take the sword of the wall to fight once again and for younger heroes who will be facing him for the first time by our side.

I started playing WoW in the middle of June 2005. I was single, sharing a flat with my brother, and having the most awesome time of my life. Was in a great guild with awesome people and had an amazingly fun time with the game. When WotLK rolled around I had gotten engaged and she wasn't a gamer :( So I stopped playing for a while. I completely missed Cataclysm.

When I returned for Pandaria, I was super stoked to play the game and to start a rogue. I've only played a mage and priest up until then. By then I've also become a father of two children, raiding became difficult so I was relieved that there was still content for me to enjoy. Had no idea what to do, but good ole Icy Veins clued me up quick enough. Kept on playing right through up to today and will keep playing for the foreseeable future.

It felt like the game has been maturing with me, letting me play hours every day until I got married, but then still having content for me to enjoy.

Eagerly waiting for Legion because I love new content. I really like having something to aim for and at the start it will be aiming for 110 and getting my artifact levelled. Currently playing a DK and plan on continuing with a Frost DK, because I really love Arthas' story.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
