Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I`m 23 years old and for the past 2 years I was more that regular guest at Pubs And Inns

But since my brother in law introduced me to this game I`m sober for 3 months or so and my liver is getting better and better each day.

So since I would like to go on that way I would like to get to that Beta :)

Ty WoW for my health life style. biggrin.png

I'm hyped for Frost Mage getting a lone wolf talent. I've always loved frost but I hate hate hate pet classes. I can also finally use mirror image, my favorite mage CD. I'm also hyped for Dalaran (obviously) because it's my favorite city in the game.

Well, there are a few things with Legion that I am looking forward to seeing.  The way they are changing classes and specs with the Artifact weapons is a big one, for example.

But really, the thing I am most excited for...

Is Laserbear.

Galactic Guardian and using Moonfire in Bear form is actually pretty amusing, and so far the rest of the changes to Bear are looking good, so this just makes it fun for me instead of the dull animations Bears have that are basically impossible to see(and really just swoosh marks and weird transparent model stuff).

Looking forward to artifacts and demon hunters what I enjoyed in the past was playing with the same people I played with for years. The reason why I say why I enjoyed that in the past is cause most of them are returning for legion

The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is the artifact weapons. I've loved the legendary questlines for a long time but it has always required more effort than I could give to the game; the idea that you get a named item that has a history and must be earned is fantastic.

The ring quest in Warlords of Draenor was a step in the right direction, but unfortunately life circumstances kept me out of most of WoD's lifecycle, so I didn't get to experience it as completely as I would have liked.

The other thing I'm really excited about is the redesign of the class mechanics; it's clear they've put a lot of thought into it and everything I've seen makes me really excited to not only play the classes I know and love (Druid, Rogue, Warrior), but also branch out and try new things (Priest, Mage, Hunter).

Hey!

The most thing I'm looking forward too? Geez, hard question, honestly!

Legion has so many new features it's somewhat overwhelming to take in at first. From the top of my head it would be the transmog system. Why, because:

  • It collects all the items from quests you previously did
  • You can change on the go
  • ALL THE MOGS ARE AUTOMATICALLY SAVED! MY BANK IS NO LONGER  FULL.

My second feature would be the prestiege system. I've always wondered why they didn't implament this in previous expansions it's such a cool feature not only does it give battlegrounds great replay, it also somewhat brings balance.

And finally my third is the artifact system. Not only does this sound AND look amazing it gives great replay for players and it has class stories!

The only thing in WOD I'm going to miss is the Garrisons. I know not a lot of people will agree but that's my opinion. I know at launch it was really bad but WOW is a very popular game and sadly they can't keep everyone satisfied. The game needs to evolve to become better, of course they will run into problems just like every other company.

Thanks for reading!

New PVP system and going back to the "traditional" way of tanking where mitigation of damage really matters is exciting to me!  The lore book that Blizz put out is getting me involved in this universe that I've spent the last ten years playing in & has got me interested in a whole new way.  By far, the guildies I've had (some for the last ten years!) make this game over the top.  Their memes are always my favorite past experiences... and Ulduar of course!

Im looking forward to another "itemisation revamp" - Artifacts and other. Because, imho, items are ~40% of the mmo. They affect gameplay and visuals - which is other 50% of a game. And, as i see, there was A LOT problems in the past related to items and equipment.

I am really looking forward to the upcoming PvP changes. I'm interested to see how the PvP talents are going to affect the state of battlegrounds and arenas. Speaking of which, the new arenas look beautiful and I cannot wait to hop in with my friends and start grinding some honor levels! Probably what I'm most excited for is to see how Blizzard changes the way PvP gear works.

I really really hope and pray that they will include legendary transmog. I am not super enthusiastic about the titanstrike models. I've been working my entire hunter transmog around lightning themes, with Thori'Dal and Fen-Yu and my tier 5 rift stalker set, with mounts and pets and such to go with it.

Combat combat combat!  I am looking forward to the changes made to pretty much every class.  Fury warrior looks incredible compared to previous expansions.  Disc is freaking awesome, Demo lock is finally how it should be and affliction got AOE back!

Other than the combat I am looking forward to new dungeons and raids, WOD had some great dungeons and so far the new ones like the Arcway, Maw of Souls, Darkheart Thicket and even Violet Hold looks like it might actually be fun this time lol.  Bosses in Violet Hold this time around are really well made.

I'm hyped for the fact that they're making classes unique again and the new dungeons which look awesome. I hope the leveling will be good as it was in WoD.

I am looking forward to revisiting the new specs of every class. I am an altaholic so I usually play every spec in a new expansion before picking a main. Cant wait!

I remember that through-out 2008 to 2013, me and my best friend used to play a lot of WoW. It was the best time of my life. Sadly we quit playing in 2013 and he passed away last year, so my plan is to come back for Legion and enjoy it for both of us. This one is for you, Markus.

My fondest moment would have to be during WoW's initial release. I don't remember ever anticipating a game as much as I did with WoW before or since its release. Call it rose-tinted glasses, or maybe I've just become more jaded with age, but the fact that Blizzard was actually making an MMO of its most cherished franchise was mind-blowing.

I was in my second year of college at the time and had made sure to schedule no morning classes that semester to interfere with me being able to stay up late and play during midnight release. I had even given my then-girlfriend at the time an excuse that I wanted to work on a project for a class before Thanksgiving break started to ensure I was not disturbed.

From waiting in line at my local game store in order to pick up the game, to rushing home, installing the game (via CD of course) and loading it up I don't believe my heart rate dropped at all. I had already decided what I wanted to play after hours of research (an undead rogue) and after spending way too much time at the character customization screen I finally loaded in to Tirisfal Glades for the very first time. I was greeted with the intro cutscene, mouth hanging open the entire time, and when I first got control of my new character and walked out of the Forsaken crypts I was simply floored - there were hundreds of other newly created Forsaken running around, grabbing quests, throwing fireballs at zombies and bats. This moment would be etched into my memory as one of most memorable gaming experiences of my life.

I've played WoW off and on since then, and Legion is the expansion that I feel, and am desperately hoping, will bring back the deep class aesthetics that I've felt the game has lost over the years. The class order halls look absolutely fantastic, placing a strong emphasis on class flavor; the artifact weapons look equally impressive, with the seemingly endless number of customization skins; the dungeons and raids we've seen are the most visually stunning of any that have ever been in the game, with simply breathtaking art direction.

It really seems the dev team is listening in Legion, maybe more so than ever before, and I'm eagerly awaiting with bated breath for the chance to get my hands on the impressive new content that's in store with Legion.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
