Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm totally stoked to try out the new Artifact weapons on my Rogue. Also looking forward to ganking some Demon Hunters on release. Hopefully pvp will be more fulfilling than it was in Warlords.

I want to ignite that feeling I had when I first started to play the game back in WotLK, I remember my friend giving me 10 gold to help me get started on the server. I thought he was so kind for the money he could spare me, of course I realise now that 10 gold for a guy with several toons was absolutely nothing, It would almost have been better to let me earn my own money huh.png

Anyhow, from what has been shown in the beta so far, I'm hype to the maximum. Although I am hype I am also aware of the failure that was WoD, so I suppose if I could try Legion out beforehand, that would be awesome smile.png

I've always enjoyed playing with my friends, especially doing the alternative content, like darkmoon faire, pet battles, the farms on padaria, etc. Legion is gonna bring us all together for more fun times, hopefully with a lot of new pets, challenging tamers and achievements. Also I'm so excited for all the class changes, feels like a whole new game!

There are 2 things I am really looking forward to.

1. The dungeons. Dungeons have always been my favorite thing to do on WoW and based on what I've seen, and what they are doing with them they are going to be a lot of fun.

2. Demon Hunter class. I've played every class in WoW, but I've always preferred mobility and dps out of any class so demon hunter fills that role nicely, I am planning on maining a demon hunter in the dps spec.

I think Legion is going to be great fun and I am looking forward to it.

I once had a dream. That one day enhancement shamans would be able to get Doomhammer as a legendary. when Wod hit i said to my self "this is the time" i dont know why but i had a huge gut feeling that in patch 6.2 it would happen. The sighs was there, during the final phase in the blackhand encounter you fight at the place where doomhammer got all it's power. and then there was a short comic about the blackrock clan and the Doomhammer. All the sighs was there and i was 110% sure that we would get it. My body was ready.

but then all hope was lost. No Doomhammer why even life i thought.

But then gamescom and there we saw the trailer for leigon and my dream came true. Doomhammer was for enhancement shamans.

I really wanna test the new enha shaman. it looks good, i like the talents, the artifact trait looks really swag, the play style looks and sounds really nice, and to FINALLY be able to use Doomhammer is a dream come true. Doomhammer hype is real.

I´m looking forward to the new Raid content as well as to the Artifact Weapon System.

What i enjoyed the most about this game is its ability to connect so many different types of people. I met so many awesome friends over the last 10 years of playing this game and it made a different person out of me. I´m sure i will meet many more cool guys in the next expension as well.

Honestly, I am most looking forward to the new transmog system. I'm a pretty big transmogger currently. In order for me to get really excited about leveling a character I have to have their transmog planned out from like level one. So, the functionality of the wardrobe system looks like it will be an absolute dream come true.

As for anything else, I really hope that the lore of the elves is expanded on in this upcoming expansion. I know the night elves will play a pretty big part, but I hope that the blood elves get some limelight too. I feel that their race's overall story arc hasn't really gone anywhere since BC. As someone who plays almost entirely blood elves, I would really like for them to take more of an active role in the horde, they have had time to really prove themselves to be full allies at this point. Also, with the continuation of the blood elf story arc, maybe we can finally get an updated Silvermoon, one we could fly in would be nice or for them to reclaim the rest of the city.

One last note: look at that MM bow for hunters. My dreams of getting a Sylvanas transmog are slowly coming to fruition!

Looking forward to Legion for a few reasons.

Multiple specs, finally, and artifacts. Both these options will allow me to fully complete my character and push my overall World of Warcraft experience forward.

Also, I'm looking forward to the new Challange mode Dungeons that, if they did it as they said, it will assure a broader pool of people interested in them, wich will enrich the experience and bring back the old WoW experience.

On WoW:
What i love about WoW is simple: It draws me in, no matter what stage in life i'm at. It's fun, i find things to do, ways to progress my characters and people to have fun with.
As long as WoW continues to draw in people, or keep some interested, there're always be the chance to reminisce about the good times, and for some good ol' banter on Teamspeak.

I remember my first raid... As a scared Protection warrior in Karazhan... Scraped together gear to go on an epic adventure, only to spend the night wiping on Nightbane. biggrin.png

In legion i'm excited for the big feature : Artifacts. I'm curious as to how they'll actually fit into our character progression, since it seems there's the potential for exrermely massive differences in characters, depending on what you spec the weapon for.

EDIT: OMG, i forgot :D New transmog system! Finally i will be collecting it all to look fabulous!

On Icy-Veins:
The no-crap approach to information! Everything is ordered and available within 2-3 clicks, and i can even read up between pulls tongue.png

What i'm concerned about:
Ability pruning sad.png Getting old and having less time to play.

It's been 10 years now, i've never had a game stay relevant for this amount of time!

I'd love  to continue into Legion - and indeed i will, but i would like to have Beta access, since i missed the 13/13 Mythic cut-off by a week or two. (QQ - we raid 2 days a week, for 8 hours total)

Well I can't say that Ive played for the last 10 years and have been here through it all.  I honestly just picked up wow when WoD dropped (played up to 65 back in cata then quit).  I was instantly hooked.  I leveled my first toon ever to 100 and then over the expansion have leveled 12 characters to 100.  I absolutely love this game.  In my prime I made it into a mythic raiding guild (8/13 but I have since slowed way down) and have played with friends in pvp. I find Pvping with friends one of the funnest things to do in this game.

What am i looking forward to in Legion?  All the new changes in the classes! I know some changes are seen as negative and ill hold my peace for now (rip spell reflect) but overall I see the changes as very positive and im excited to check it all out.  Now, I dont actually have a main.  I find ALL the classes fun and exciting and will still have the biggest problem that i do now on deciding who to play next (though my heart will always be with shamans and monks). Also, the new weapons look really cool! I like where they are going with the artifact system and even with pvp.  I cant wait!

Warcraft has always had the innate ability to make me feel small. Since I began playing many moons ago, I have always loved immersing myself in the history, lore and landscape of this world. Each expansion has been rich, vibrant and compelling and I really look forward to continuing this story in Legion. What I look forward to most is being able to do so as a Demon Hunter.

It may sound corny but ever since fighting (and wiping mulitiple times on Phase 2) Illidan in Burning Crusade, I have wanted to BE Illidan. The Lord of Outland.....the Betrayer....probably one of the most compelling / powerful characters in Warcraft universe. For folks who just started playing in Wrath and experienced the expansion perfection the Lich King, you have to realize there wouldn't have been a Lich King had Illidan been able to fullfil his plan. Armed with the Eye of Sargeras, he was in the process of destroying Icecrown and the Frozen Throne before an intervention. The story of Illidan opening the portal to Outland and marching again on Icecrown with a new army for an epic battle that ultimately culminated with Arthas and Illidan in combat is one for the ages!

I hope to live some of these experiences myself as I play the Demon Hunter class through Legion. I can not wait to enjoy the story line and lore of such a fascinating hero class!

Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.- Illidan Stormrage

I'm looking forward to complete all the artifact quests, new transmog system, the new Challange mode diablo rifts and the Deamon hunter class as it looks fun to play and i already have all classes in level 100 multiple of some classes.

ive quite enjoyed the timewalkers(got my mount pretty fast), a much funnier way to grind those mounts you didnt get back when it was top level content,

The items i am most looking forward to in legion is artifact weapons and class fantasy, this will be for sure the most challenging expac to pick a class for.

My fondest memory in WoW was when i was leveling my very first toon back in BC, and i had to go through deadwind pass, well a guild member of mine decided he wanted to show me some where special in deadwind he took me to that bridge overlooking kara and explained to me that this was what is deemed a raid and then explained to me what a raid was. From that day on I have wanted to do nothing more then get better so that I could raid current content and through this I have met many friends and have had some awesome experiences(like healing SSC my very first night in a hardcore progression guild). This is my fondest memory because it made me the player I am today

I hope legion will focus on  lore because lore is the most important think that we all players want it,and about a good moment from the past i guess the raid on lich king that was for me the best feeling that i ever gain in my long history as a gamer.

I`m really excited hope legion it will be one of the games of the year.

I look forward to 5 man dungeons becoming their own path of progression as far as gear is concerned in Legion, with the idea of challenge mode becoming harder and harder as you progress, much like Diablo 3's greater rifts. The dungeon experience has been pretty much left out of WoD and Mists of Pandaria altogether and I'm pretty sure a lot of peope like me love this type of content!

My fondest memory was probably our first Lich King kill and our first Sartharion +3 drakes kill. We were a 10-man only guild and those bosses were pretty hard with the gear a 10 man group was supposed to have, especially Sartharion which was an insane fight for the time. Being one of the first guilds on our realm to kill him (all the other guilds were 25m guilds) was the greatest feeling of all time for us.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
