Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

More than anything, I am most interested in trying out the demon hunter, so that I can contribute meaningfully to the beta feedback of the class that I intend to main for my raid. Naturally, as someone who's a major night elf fan, I am very excited to finally see Demon hunter added and the inevitable Night elf lore rush we'll see in Legion.  Insofar as WoW itself, while I always enjoy the raiding and usually the lore, I haven't been very in love with the current expansion. Off the heals of a success the level of Pandaria WoD felt disappointing. However after reading Chronicle and watching a lot of the lore quests on various sites, I am hopeful that Legion will be the quality of the expansions I've enjoyed most, and not the expansions I've felt dropped the ball (Cataclysm and WoD for very different reasons.) My absolute top memory, however,  goes back to the days of Classic. My first Nefarian kill, everything going wrong. Tanks dying, healers dying to my mind control, and the night ending with me using a shadow protection potion and evasion to get the kill. Only killing Lei Shen and Ra-Den server first even comes close to the electricity of that first Nefarian kill

I am excited for the artifact system and the enhancement Shaman. I´ve never really liked playing shaman, but it looks awesome in the alpha. Even if I am quite certain that I will transmog the weapon because I think the doomhammer is pretty lame and there a lot of cool fistweapons in the game. My fondest memory of playing wow is: Carrying my computer and all my equipment as a 13 year old kid to my big brothers place to play wow for the whole weekend. My fondest ingame memory would be leveling my Death Knight back in Wrath.

I'm really looking forward to the leveling zones. I really liked the leveling zones of past expansions, and the stories they told relevant to the story of the expansion. I hope they are just as good in Legion.

Really excited to visit Stormheim since anything with Vrykul is awesome, other than that im hyped for all the dungeons, mostly Helheim (Maw of Souls) and Neltharion's Lair.

I have a lot of fond memories from back in the day but the things I remember most is when I finally got to level 40 back in Classic and could at last get myself a mount, and the moment when you got to go through the portal to Hellfire Peninsula and start leveling again.

It seems like only yesterday I was in Camp Narache searching for Grull Hawkwind to strike back against the quilboar to avenge the Greatmother. I am now clad in full Conquest gear keeping my companions alive in battle. I look forward to climbing the ranks of prestigious battle in Legion. Earth Moher weaves the stands of fate and I for one look forward to seeing what She has in store for me. May the eternal sun shine upon thee.

Really looking forward to exploring at my own pace - picking which zones to level up in is really exciting, and will make leveling up alts SO much nicer!

I've played WoW off and on since launch...so I have a lot of memories, haha! One of my favorite memories was taking my lowbie dwarf hunter all the way over to Crossroads just to catch some pvp action - it was the first time I really to see how BIG WoW really is. Good times!

My first love, the rogue aka rouge is growing into something new so i can not express properly my excitement to get behind the new version of sub or the outlaw. IF that isn't enough im pumped for the new system in pvp and all classes of awesome looking artifact weapons , looking forward to the icy veins take on everything too, as i generally recommend this site to friends who are new. plus i just got a new pc and everything on ultra is going to make the legion look even more intense as well as the raids. Many of my fondest memories are of the old guildies raiding since launch, and as people grew out of or more into WoW there was and still is that "warm blanket" feel to the game, plus looking back i did put on an application to gamestop as a young kid "beat the lich king".

I can not wait for the new PVP Prestige system to come out. It will be so much more rewarding and fun with all the perks you can get. I remember playing on my Paladin, and carrying the flag back down to our Alliance base in Warsong Gulch . I was nearly dead and being chased by half the Horde team, but as I reached the alliance tunnel there was healers lined on either side healing me up, and our team finally came to my rescue

I'm really excited to see Blizzard focusing on spec identity. Specs in WoD just feel much too similar to each other.

Something I hope Blizzard tinkers with is early leveling. Early leveling in WoD is way too easy in my opinion. Even without heirlooms, levelling has changed from a challenge into a chore. Dungeons should actually be difficult and people should be pushed to work together to overcome some quests. I miss the challenges that WoW threw my way, I miss dying while levelling and having to ask myself, “What did I do wrong?”, and, “How can I do better next time?” Finally, I miss the sense of community that WoW had as people would actually have to work together and communicate as they ran through dungeons and raids.

I can't wait for the new dungeons and raids. My best times in this game have been playing with my guild, and dungeons and raids have been the heart of many of those experiences.

I think I most look forward to Legion in general. I am excited to explore new places, new dungeons, and new raids. I love the excitement of something new. We also just restarted an old guild with all of the original members so going in to the new expansion with these people is also quite exciting.

One of my fondest moments actually happened in WoD. I was the GM of a guild and we started doing Highmaul normals on the night they opened. We breezed right through Kargath but until we got the hang of setting up properly, we failed a lot on the Butcher. One night, someone accidentally pulled the Butcher before we could organize groups. Everyone panicked but we went with it. We downed him faster with less people dead than we ever had when we organized before hand. Our teamspeak was full of cheers, "oh my gods" and so much laughter and happiness. It was by far my favorite moment. Maybe you had to be there to appreciate it.. who knows. It was awesome, though.

Im very excited for demon hunters in Legion, mainly because of double jump :) A great memory from WoW for me has to be during Hallows End. My guild master and I had been given Pirate costumes and we then proceeded to chat in pirate speak for about 30 minutes. I even screenshotted the entire conversation, it was awesome.

I can't wait to test the new demon hunter and shadow priest. Through last several expansions, I was always play as a holy priest, balance druid, and arcane mage. I would like to try a melee dps class this time. I hope that blizzard could make raid mechanic less melee punishing, and please redesign arcane blast and arcane missiles' visual effects.

And finally, I need to thanks for Icy Vein team's dedicated efforts on update class profile and wow news. You guys are my primary resource to learn a new class :) Keep up the great job.

I'm most looking forward to the Old God lore and the Shadow Priest changes that come with it. I've been playing Priest since BC, and it's refreshing to feel like Shadow is finally getting some of the attention it deserves. A lot of the coming changes sound interesting, though. The PvP prestige system is exactly the sort of thing I've been hungry for. I love long grinds (I have the Insane title if that says anything), and so this sort of content is right up my alley.

My fondest Warcraft memory would probably have to be finally obtaining my Dreadsteed through the original chain questline. I was a huge noob back then, leveling my first character. It felt epic to work towards something as powerful looking and different as the Dreadsteed. I remember taking it through Outlands, constantly oogling it and beaming with happiness.

With Legion coming soon my dad has been looking to get back into WoW, and I'm pretty glad because just playing this game is much better with the people you know. Plus the new features have perked my interests much more than WoD and MoP. My favorite so far is the Artifact weapon system, even though I'm kinda against the idea of us using weapons heavily invested within the lore, I am definitely looking forward for the character progression.

My favorite moment in WoW during the old days was probably raiding back in Wrath my dad and brother. Throughout the whole expansion we did everything, even doing Wintergrasp regularly even though my dad avoided PvP as much as possible.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
