Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what I am more excited about with Legion, I would say first and foremost is getting to play Demon Hunter. I have always enjoyed the history of the Illidari, and Illidan is probably my most favorite WoW character. Secondly I am excited about all the new cinematics, I'm very nerdy when it comes to that and I usually get super geeked up when Blizzard releases a new one. 3rd would be artifact weapons, I have been following how the artifact UI will work and all the different ways you can customize your talents. I have a lot more but it would get to fangirlish lol, but the new zones look amazing just visually stunning and I seriously need to get cracking on my new rig lol

First of all, congratulations for the 5th year anniversary !

What I'm looking forward in Legion? Well I must admit that the new wardrobe system sounds great, after countless years I will finally be able to put things in my bank! I'm also very excited by the artifacts and class changes in Legion (gameplay & lore around them - class hall -), I can't wait to put my hands on Doomhammer biggrin.png

You put me in such a nostalgic mood, man, it's been 10years since I first stepped on Azeroth ! I remember my first month... I was level 15 and fascinated by the Burning Steppes (don't ask me why). I died at least 15 times on the road to the Blackrock Mountain but it was so worth it. Lava and rock, it was so beautiful. I got so used to it that I organized lots of expeditions. Even today I can barely understand why 20 people would follow me around that deadly place for about an hour ! laugh.png

It was awesome.

Can't wait to play, Beta or not. See you soon !

First of all , Happy birthday to Icy Veins and thanks for 5 years of awesomeness. I'm most excited about how they are handling class changes in legion. WoD class changes made my main kinda unplayable for me and made me reroll. I'm really happy with the changes they have done so far in alpha.Another thing i love about legion is the lore and how it connects to all titan, demon and old god lore

I am really hyped for this new honor system coming up in Legion, it will be nice to see some change. For my favorite moment, I would have to say all the small funny things that has happened throughout my time playing WoW. Just the fails and all that funny stuff.

For me there is so many things to look forward to in Legion. I used to only raid, but in Legion there is the new PVP leveling, which I gotta try.Challenge mode dungeons sounds fun this time around, I wasn't keen on the way they were in Mist of Pandaria and Warlords, but bringing over Greater Rifts from Diablo sounds more like my cup of tea. The artifact weapons sounds cool as hell, and I'm having real trouble with what class to main this expansion, i know i have to get them all sometime  Still a bit reserved about the Demon Hunter class. They sound kinda OP at the moment, but also very simple in their rotation, but granted we are still in alpha, so a lot can change. The new transmog system sounds nice as well, I actually run old raids now just to get ready for this, and i rarely transmogged anything before. Overall I'm just really excited to get back into a game i played since Vanilla, but kinda miffed out on in Warlords, and if everything looks as good as it seems right now. Man what a great expansion this is gonna be.

I'm really looking forward to the story of legion the most. I'm big into the lore and legion is fixing to be the most lore heavy expansion they have put out yet, everything from the burning legion invasion, to the artifact weapon quests to see Slyvanas and how her story is going to unfold, to Illidan, returning and how he will play into all this, queen azshara makes an apperance, the emerald nightmare, the history of the vrykul, titan lore with the pillars of creation, and at long last the return of alleria and turalyon. There are going to be so many amazing stories unfolding this expansion I just can't wait.

As for favorite moment I have so many, I been playing wow now for 10 years and I have so many fond memories its hard to pick my favorite, but since I am a huge lore guy from that perspective my favorite moment would be the first time i downed the lich king back in wrath.

The story of Arthas and how he became the lich king was just so good, he is without a doubt my favorite lore villain. Playing throughout all of wrath running into the lich king at every turn having him taunting and egging me on as the expansion went along, I knew that I had to defeat him. I had never raided before, but I knew that is what would have to do if I wanted to face him, so in wrath I started raiding, and I have to admit it was pretty fun, I was always just so nervous that I wouldn't be any good at it, but turns out I wasn't half bad.

Once the ICC raid came out I was super excited at last I would have my chance to face down the lich king and put him down once and for all. Everything was all good at first until I got to Rotface. The guild I was in at the time always had kind of a rough time with him.

As the weeks went by my hopes of beating the lich king were starting to fade, until one day just one week before cataclysm was set to release a buddy of mine was in a pug raid and they were on lich and, they needed one more and he asked me if I wanted to join, needless to say I leaped at the chance. At last I was going to face the lich king.

My buddy game me the low down on the whole fight so we gave it a go. Things did not go well we wiped many times and things were once again looking bleak, the raid lead said we were going to give it one last try and then call it if we couldn't down him, I thought it was over for sure, that my one and only chance to beat the lich king before the next expansion released was about to go up in smoke, but then on that final try everything fell into place and we downed him it was one the happiest days of playing wow I have ever had and it is a moment I will never forget.

For me I am really really looking forward to the Artifact questlines! I'm big into Warcraft lore and I definitely plan on doing every specializations questline. Also to just throw it in there I am looking forward to Dungeons being relevant again, it's been sometime since thats been true.

I started playing in early BC, my first character was a Male Blood Elf Paladin, that's also when I got into raiding pretty hardcore compared to myself now. My best memory was downing Illidan (my favorite lore character). I can still hear the screams in Vent when we downed him.

As a last thing thank you Icy-veins for all the work you do with theorycrafting and posting rotations, bis and talents, I can't even begin to say how much your site has helped me when my various toons.

Cya in Legion!

There are two major things that make me excited for Legion other than the usual features (like new raids): Story and Lore: Finally a bit more of the Burning Legion story will be driven forward, which is one of the most interesting storyarchs left in WoWs portfolio. Hopefully we will really get deeper in touch with the Legions roots. Challenge modes and 5 player content: As a mythic raider, raids are of course a thing that each expansion must bring to stay relevant. But interesting 5 man content has always been a thing for me (like BC Heroics, early Cata heroics. I never was a big fan of the MoP/WoD CMs, since simply being fast was not that appealing to me. So that new CM system is hopefully allow a bit more playtime outside of raids, that feels relevant for PvE

I love the nostalgia of first creating a Night elf character and wondering the forests of Teldrassil whilst not knowing what a mysterious and enormous world awaits for me.

My favorite moment has to be the death knight starting zone. It felt like i was no longer a part of the alliance but rather a pawn in Lich King's game. Very exciting stuff.

Hopefully the Demon Hunter experience can bring that feel back again. Can't wait to try out Legion and see all the new sounds/animations and especially the artifact weapon questlines.

Have a good one and thank you for the giveway.
Good luck everyone. smile.png

Feature i'am most excited in and cant wait to start working on it is definitely Artifact weapons and how they work for druids. I think its great alternative for past expansions ''legendary building''. Stuff i enjoyed in past - small sized raiding (yeah kinda not relevant now), rep grinds (liked how they were done in WOD) and overall accessibility of game is at great level, you learn to prise this even more when you look at other mmos.

There's a new MW monk pvp talent in the legion build called Way of the Crane that boosts dmg by 50% and immunes snares and roots healing 3 nearist alli for 200% of dmg done.  Personally I have a problem with this but I'm realllllly excited to see if they would listen to my suggestion to make Crackling Jade Lightning an ability that can be effected by Thunder Focus Tea. Making CJL finally useful for more than keeping stealths in combat. And potentially becoming a FoF for a healer xD Can you imagine a Thunder focus talent you pop way of the crane and use two consecutive Jade Lightnings for big surprise deeps from a healer?.? I'm hoping for that to happen so hard. I'm a bit nervous about some of the changes and hopeful for others. PvP lvling prestige and class halls, I want them both to work out well. More importantly a new and improved BRAWLER'S GUILD. Yeah that's right, the most important thing is easily the amazing changes that will come to brawlers pub, maybe. please Monks for life~

I'm so excited for all of the new transgmog and class changes. I play an elemental shaman and the changes are looking very promising! Being one who also primarily PvPs, the pvp changes are nice and I may be able to push further into higher brackets. PvE also looks great! I'm overall super pumped for legion and can't wait to get my hands on it!!

I'm really hyped for the new honor system! I hope that it will make pvp more balanced :)

I also think that it's cool that they are reworking alot of the specs, which hopefully will make the classes more interesting.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
