Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

The Challenge Mode's from MoP I absolutly loved them. I did most runs with my friends trying to figure out ways to beat the timer. But we also did some runs with a mage. He had, for a couple of dungeons, the best CM times of our server. Like how to do certain pulls and what tactics worked on certain bosses etc etc. Learned alot from this guy, pushed me as a healer to my limits.I also remember we were pretty amazed at the damage this guy dealt. While me and my guildies weren't noobies who didn't knew how to play. (We had Mythic experience, 2k+ arena rating) Anyways I'm very excited at the dungeons of Legion, what I've seen so far looks amazing. Also I'm wondering if the MoP CM gear wil become available to all my characters once legion launches? Since the gear is a quest reward, and I heard that all gear from completed quests will be available to transmog.

I am excited for Legion due to the changes to Demonology. We are going to get a massage army of demons and demon bolt . After having been a healer for every single expac starting out as a DPS class purely is going to be a nice change of pace. Plus I'll always have a spot due to scaling raid groups for pre mythic raiding. With the legendaries and an epic class hall it is looking to be quite a good expansion. Hopefully the raid mechanics will be more difficult as BLIZZARD did say they wanted to reduce character skill ceiling to be able to make more difficult encounters. The artifacts for warlock across all three specs feel solid and interesting changing the playstyle and adding unique depth which is a really good thing for casual players all the way to the more hardcore group

I'm really looking forward to the Demon Hunter class and the Artifact Weapons. The new Transmog system looks to be an amazing revison, especially for Transmog enthusiasts like myself. I hope we get some insight into the mind of Illidan during the time of The Black Temple. Maybe we will finally see if he had truly gone crazy or, as in the past, just chose a path, that others saw as madness, for the greater good of Azeroth.

I'm most looking forward to the new raids and dungeons, especially the new keystone system which I will be running with friends. I know it's borrowing a bit from Diablo, but it's a good way to keep people coming back to them, even after fully upgrading our new weapons. The new ability animations are looking good so we can do them with a bit more style

I'm looking forward to acrifact weapons and class quests associated with them. I'm a big lore fan so it's nice to experience those story lines tied to some of my favourite classes and speccs. One of my favourite ingame moments have to be first raid - it was half guild run half pug in vanilla. We went to ZG and I was healing on my paladin. We've managed to get only Venoxis down but it got me hooked so hard that I can't play WoW without raiding anymore.

I simply cannot wait for the revamped demonology spec. I had my doubts when blizz announced they removed metamorphosis but then I saw gameplay in the legion alpha and it gave me a tiny bit of hype for legion. Tbh I wouldn't really mind having the same kind of content that I saw in warlords simply due to the fact that I'd be commanding a horde of demons, viciously mauling and tearing at my enemies.

I think I'm most looking forward to just having a new expansion.  For whatever reason, I think I am more excited about Legion than I have been for any other expansion other than BC.  I had been eagerly anticipating BC but in the end, felt pretty disappointed with the expansion.  I think that Legion is going to be a 'make or break' expansion for Blizzard and they are going to really try to make this an amazing expansion.

I'm a pretty casual player now and I can't dedicate time for raiding outside of LFG and LFR.  I think that is the one thing that need to change in the game - raids shouldn't take such a serious commitment.  LFR should be normal difficulty - provide a real challenge and with it, rewards.

Anyway, long time lurker first time poster.  Looking forward to Legion for sure.

Still a bit skeptical about how the pvp will end up being but the lore and raiding should keep me interested for a while. Kinda hoping that they take all the feedback they can get. Waiting to find out though!

Hi,

I look forward most to the lore and wielding artifacts weapon, that trailer got me hyped. Watching Sylvanas with Varian was amazing and oh boy Illidan is back!!!!

I always wanted to wield the frostmourne ever since I saw the Lich King but I guess it's still gonna be a dream since frost dk is going dw but oh well. Demon hunter looks cool, cant wait to play as one, would be fun to double jump in battlegrounds!!

I enjoy going through the old contents for lore to live the nostalgia and ofc getting the transmog, I love doing world pvp too, its really fun when you do it with your friends.

I'm really liking, and excited about, of course, the encounter design in legion. It seems like blizzard has realized that having fights that have four phases, each with twenty abilities is really dumb, and that they should keep their fights simple, and I have to agree. Although they made the mechanics simple, they made them super punishing though, so the good players can really shine here, and that's great!

Anyways, super excited for legion, and can't wait to push out some crazy deeps with my arcane mage!

I've been an avid pvper in just about every game and WoW was no different. I think my very first pvp took place just outside of Crossroads. A group of about 20 went head to head against alliance and pushed them back to . man, it's been so long I actually forget the name of the next area. Anywho, the battle went on for maybe an hour or two, but it was an amazing experience. As soon as BGs were implemented, I don't think I was ever happier. I spent about 90% of my time in BGs and the rest Questing and Raiding. With that said, I don't think I have been so eagerly awaiting a new expansion after reading about the PvP changes. I absolutely love the direction Blizzard is going in with this and I cannot wait to experience it. WoW looks like it is actually going to fully cater to both the pvper and raider which is an outstanding achievement.I don't think anyone can pull off having BG and World PvP coexist, but if anyone can, it'd be Blizzard. but is it too late??? We've all been wrong in the past, so we shall see. Maybe this will be the next big accomplishment for Blizzard.

World of Warcraft...

Azeroth just keeps getting bigger and more grand as the ages go on, no?

My only concern with Legion is the fear that it will be as painful to play as Warlords of Draenor was. I watch alpha videos from Bellular, Nobbel and Crendor constantly and I am just concerned that there might not be enough content. Looking back at each content patch of Cataclysm, this was the peak of Blizzard's pumping out of content. Every patch had a new questing zone or new dungeons and at the beginning of the expansion they had released 6 zones, 9 dungeons and 4 raids. Legion is currently launching with 5 zones, 9 dungeons and 2 raids. Now considering that these are intended to be full raids, whereas 2 of the cata launch raids were a single boss (baradin hold) and the other having only 2 bosses (throne of the four winds), I think the choice of two full raids is the best idea so far. Single boss raids are a thing of the past. With that being said, Legion has a full launch content setup that has encouraged me to continue subscribing, in hopes that we may have found a good expansion again. Here is to hoping their patch rhythm is good and unlike HFC's patch.

Lastly, thank you Icy Veins, for doing things like this. Been reading your guides for awhile. Keep up the great work. :) and if anyone asked, Bellular sent me here to enter the contest :)

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
