Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Been playing a Paladin for the best part of 9 years, but been doing a lot more of Brewmaster and Resto Druid lately it'll be a nice change having these other classes to divert to when a new expansion releases.

I'm personally very much looking forward to the leveling experience and the stories told during the journey to the cap. With that said I'm also looking forward to the end-game dungeons and raid content

I am a bit worried by all the ability pruning, but still really looking forward to try the new PVP Leveling system. I am also really hoping that they are keeping their word about "making dungeons a real alternative to raids".i will play/try it nevertheless in the end

What realy sold me for legion was the announcment of the changes to challenge modes. The timer alredy added a difficulty level to the challenge modes in previous expansions. But with legion, and adding diffrent afixes or challenges within the dungeon itself sounded to fun not to try. Having a love for transmog and a full void storage, the new wardrobe system will go a long way for me. Not just in bag space, but my incentive to run out and do old world content to fill up my wardrobe is going to give me lots of hours of enjoyment aswell

I am so looking forward to everything Legion has to offer. However I am looking especially forward to the changes made for druids. The new looks for the shapeshifting hypes me up so much. Been playing since Vanilla and I'm not sure I've been looking forward to an expansion this much since Wotlk.

I honestly had mixed feelings when they announced the artifact weapons.  I have run a Fury Warrior since Lich King and I remember the quest to try and get my Legendary Shadowmourne.  I thought maybe it wasn't fair that everyone would get a artifact weapon, but I've changed my mind.  I think it will be great for everyone in every level of play (casual to hardcore) to be able to wield a weapon that amazing.  I can't wait for Legion to see where Blizz takes us next.  Also thanks Icy Veins for all you guys do

Mostly looking forward to the changes to dungeons, specifically the increasing difficulty modes similar to the diablo rift system. Cant wait to see how the new artifact system is shaping up as it might give us more interesting choices over and above the talent trees. And of course, I can wait for the new story arcs and questing experience.

Thinking back to my early starting days during the original WoW I still have fond memories of running after a mounted player because I had never seen a player on a mount before. He waved to me and gave me one gold, which was awesome (I hadn't discovered the AH yet, so all I had at the time was a few copper)

As for Legion, I hope that the revamped PvP system will give a a bit more of a chance to enter that realm of the game. I've tried it in earlier expansions, but if you started halfway through the season, you got owned so hard it wasn't even entertaining to try to get enough honour to get competitive. The new PvP system, therefore, seems like a big improvement to me.

As a Vanilla player I am really looking forward to the reintroduction of the crafting system lost in WoD (imo).  Having played hunter since the begging I am also looking forward to trying out the new class changes.  But most of all I think I am really excited about levelling through what, so far, looks like is an awesome expansion with my guildies

I'm really excited to get into legion to see the improves of the warlocks and death Knights. I really think and hope that legion is going to save wow... The dungeons, the artifact and pvp system look so much amazing! Blizzard really had a great idea to change the animations for the Warriors, dks, rogues ...

For the past years I used to play an affliction warlock (Pvp). Warlords of Dreanor really did fail with the pvp community unfortunately... So that's why I really want to see what legion has to offer us.

I am probably way too excited for the Demon Hunter class.  I first played as one in WarCraft III and was in love with the lore and purpose of these hero's.  When World of Warcraft was released, I was very disappointed that they were not included as a playable class within the initial launch. I decided to play a Hunter and have been for the last nine years.  I almost lost all hope about them being added until I found Loramus Thailpedes within the Blasted Lands.  My hope was renewed as they were put into the MMO.  Expansion after expansion I waited for them to be added and each time, I was left wanting. Finally, at this last Blizzcon I felt the time for them to be added was very near and I was correct.  The Legion is enclosing in and will throw everything and the kitchen sink at Azeroth, so we need to fight Fel Fire with Fel Fire. I really cannot express how excited I am for this class.  I have wanted to either try tanking and a melee dps and now both can be achieved with the Demon Hunter class.  Their lore and tragic hero persona is something that draws me deeper into their struggle with finding a place in the world.   Not to mention that all of their ability animation and abilities are just awesome. I really do hope that I get into the Alpha as I have waited too long to have the chance to dive deep into their stories and learn what sacrifices they have made for their powers.

I'm looking forward all the little pointless things and easter eggs in Legion. Like the shaman mini game or the special interaction with the Paladin prot shield

Have been maining a Destro Lock this xpac. Super psyched to see what they turn out to be like in Legion. Although, youtube videos have shown me that just about every class and spec is going to turn out amazing. Will do the honor of testing all of these classes and specs

Icy Veins is 5 years old already? You guys took an idea and cranked it to 11. Anyways, the thing I'm looking for in Legion is the new BM hunter class fantasy, because truth be told, it was getting stale. But all these new ideas of commanding 2+ pets at one time seems very fresh.  Also, artifact talents, how neat are they? They are like old pre-MoP talent trees, and I'm missing those to this day. Lest we not forget the Demon Hunter class. A new class means more diversity. And diversity is always good. And last but certainly not least are the new animations. Having the same animation for 11 years is a bit repetitive. Yeah, they did upgrade them slightly for new models, but they retained the same feel. But these new ones are looking pretty rad.

I've been playing off and on since Vanilla's beta, with two of my best friends.  Sadly one of them has passed away anod the other no longer plays, but I still do enjoy it greatly.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Artifact weapon treadmill, hoping it keeps me occupied across many alts.  And Blizzard finally separating PVP from PVE. Draenor was somewhat of a letdown, and I think they've heard the concerns and addressed a lot of the issues, so here's hoping!

Either way, Legion should be good, and who doesn't want to play as a Demon Hunter?

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
