Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Hihghlight in wow I remember spending hours dueling friends and being ganked around north stv graveyard, loved how every level seemed important. The games shifted now to being about end game, and thats fine i think, end game challenges are far more sustaining now that the novelty of the world in those early years has worn with time. legion looks like we'll be out in the world or in busy cities again which is cool. keen to get into legion beta and to see the new brewmaster, thinking I might start this expansion tanking when the role is always the most challenging, although enhance shaman does look tempting...

I fell in love with my paladin back during WotLK, during 3.2 specifically, and I never looked back or took another main. Time after time, I turn back to this class and to Holy in particular. Moving into Legion, our new focus on positioning and our intricacies with actually dealing some DPS will help bring me into the flow of combat more than ever. Major changes are on their way, and I'm eagerly looking forward to standing there, self-righteous as ever. Then wailing on the boss with my puny DPS numbers and being yelled at to actually heal the tank

As a Balance druid, I'm really excited for the new way the spec is gonna play. Although the old Starfall will be gonna, hopefully the new one is just as good. I'm also glad that Blizzard is gonna put more of an emphasis on dungeons, with the Arcway being my favorite so far, at least by design and boss mechanics

Keep up the awesome work you have been doing. Makes our lives easier. I hope we can test Legion proper, not like WoD. I mean all zones, specs, etc available.

I am excited for legion but doing me best to refrain from passing judgement and hype until we actually get in there and try it out for ourselves.  I was pretty pumped for WoD and honestly thought the changes they were making were going to be fantastic.  Outside of raiding, I was pretty let down.  So far Legion definitely look promising, but doing my best to remain calm uuntil I actually get to jump and and see how the changes actually play out.

First of all, Happy Birthday Icy-veins and Thank you for this awesome opportunity.  I could write a huuuge wall of text about the things I'm looking forward to in Legion, but I'll try to be short. First of all, the Emerald Nightmare raid:  After all these years, we'll finally be able to go there, kick some ass, deal with Xavius, and hopefully save the dream itself. I cannot wait to help test the bosses there.  New Tauren and druid lore: My main is a tauren druid, so this expansion gives me heavy breathing when it comes to story ^^ The profession revamp: Holy cow, how I cheered when they teased this at blizzcon. The state of professions in draenor are really disappointing, but with the changes ahead, I'm really hopeful.  And one more lastly: The new Wardrobe system: I think it's safe to say, that everyone have a full void storage and a nearly full bank. I'm looking forward to be able to store stuff again   I have a ton of good and bad memories when I think about WoW. There are many stories I could tell, but I have a really funny one I'll never forget. Once upon a time, I leveled a toon with my friend in Northern Stranglethorn. There is a quest called Big Game Hunter where the objective is to kill a huge white tiger, called: King Bangalash. We accepted the quest and ventured deep in to the jungle to track down the king. At that point, the server started to lag a little, but we thought it's just a temporary anomaly, so we continued our journey. Not long after, we found the tiger and we started the fight with him. What happened next was a thing I thought not possible. Around 60% health, he stopped attacking us, suddenly turned around and started to slowly float away, towards the skies, in to the heaves. We were shocked but we laughed our butt off. We dc-ed not long after, but to this day, the view of King Bangalash reaching out to the heavens, still haunts me.  Again, thank you for this awesome giveaway and thank you for teaching us how to not suck in a raid or in pvp with our classes  for the last five years

Happy birthday, Icy Veins !

So many years passed, I was 22 when I started and I'm now 33 waiting for Legion, I grew up, my life changed but I'm still coming back to WoW.

My best memories are of Vanilla, raiding Molten Core with 39 other guildies and farming rank 14 with an optimized team of friends, yes - these are life-time memories indeed.

The game itself changed a lot, there is less and less challenge but at the end of the day we all grew up and have less time to play, maybe this evolution satisfies most of players but the nostalgic ones.

I look forward to experience the new changes that Legion will bring, to play a Deamon Hunter (well done Blizzard, to bring this in is a guaranteed hype success), to experience the new PvP.

After playing WoW since 11 years, there is no more criticism to have, this game becomes a part of your life.

Here we come, Legion !

I am really looking forward to the new honor system and keystone dungeons. I usually only do raids when i have the appropriate item level but with the keystone feature i will most certainly be doing more dungeons than i ever have in any of the previous expansions and i will also be maxing out the prestige system so that i can unlock the new mount and artifact weapon appearance etc. What i have enjoyed in the past is most definitely the raids, wiping hundreds of times on bosses before finally being able to kill them is such an amazing feeling. I have always been a raider but with the changes in legion i am going to be doing a lot more PvP

Would have to say that the artifact weapons and the class order halls are what i'm looking forward to the most. Long time paladin and rp'er, so seeing the horde and alliance come together in the form of the glorious new order of the silver hand is getting me so hyped. As far as past moment, first guild. Vanilla, level 13 arms warrior out in the wilderness and a group comes running by and asks me if i'd like to join them. They were my first 'online' friends and i thank warcraft for that.

As a Pvper WoW expansions never meant much to me. However, I'm greatly looking forward to the new PvP talent tree and arena being added in Legion.  Their aim at balancing PvP is a nice to see.  The thing I remember the most about WoW is leveling up with my brother, and then at max level, getting into PvP with him. I remember we both got nova'd by a mage and we thought the shatter was coming, but my brother was close enough to ferocious bite him and killed the mage

That's a great anniversary. Always looking up the guides for when I try new specs or classes to feed my alt addiction, make sure I get stat prio's right etc. The guides are usually very well explained and since they are usually written by players who know their stuff, it's easy to follow them and you know that you're doing the right thing  I'm really looking forward to Legion, the Artifact system seems promising and the weapon models look great, can't wait to see what's more in store for different skins/styles of the artifact weapons. Also looking forward to the lore that ties in with the end of Warlords of Draenor and the new lore that Legion will bring, there's already alot of information out there on videos and guides, but the best thing is to see it for yourself   I also like the way that Blizzard is updating 'old' animations, the way that they add a burning legion invasion into the old world zones and how they are trying to keep old content updated for leveling that new alt or for the new player in general who don't like to look at 10 year old graphics. And I think they are doing a good job overall.  Overall, High hopes for Legion. hopefully the expansion will bring more than Warlords did, let's hope alot of people will come back to the game with Legion, and that we are gonna have a great expansion to look forward too

You guys have your work cut out for you reading through the comments. In order to lighten the load I'll keep my post moderately short. What I enjoyed in the past:The peak of wow's gaming experience was undoubtedly during the BC/Wrath era, the vertical progression with attunements, now deemed as an aged concept in the era of "accessibility" meant you had a clear goal from A to B. Starting with Kara and ending up in BT to encounter the first major lore villain/anti-hero from WC3 (Illidan) was, at the time, an epic experience and this journey from fresh level 70 to endgame hero was the most memorable one I enjoyed playing this game. Back when the excitement of outbidding a fellow guildie via DKP and being given a raid spot for the night meant you got to see the story evolve and a chance to get your hands on eagerly coveted purple-quality loot. What I look forward to in Legion:Warcraft putting more emphasis on the RPG aspect of MMO's. The Class Fantasy concept has me extremely excited. The Mythic raiders and min maxers appear extremely divided due to talent's, artifact traits and pvp skills being all over the place, but I love it. Some much needed flavor and the core aspect of fun (I can now be a legitimate pirate. - Outlaw Rogue) seem to be taking the limelight and I salute Blizzard in their attempt to bring back what made WoW great in the first place

Super excited for legion! As a veteran Enhancement Shaman I'm looking forward to playing Enhancement to test out the revamped spec. Besides that I'm stoked to see and test the new PvE content. Up until now I spend my time in the semi-hardcore raiding environment. We cleared 13/13 Mythic HFC and at this point it's mostly farming bosses waiting for Legion to hit.

I am excited for legion because of PVP. The new honorsystem looks cool and i can't wait to try it out! I don't know which class will be the most fun but at the moment i feel like the ret paladin looks fun. Being a fast spec as well as having a lot of visually appealing abilities makes me wan't to log on my ret and get ready for legion!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
