Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

The thing that gets me excited when talking about Legion isn't the Demon Hunters or artifact weapons (though those are pretty cool) But the changes to Demonology. I've been a Demonology lock since I started playing warlock in TBC and while the whole Metamorphosis was interesting in WotLK, it was never what Demonology was about, yet it became the central part of Demonology. Compound that with the fact that Demonology hasn't been viable compared to Destro or Affliction since Cataclysm, it just makes me sad. The new Demonology excites me because we're getting back to the root of the spec, Summoning. I can't wait to see where this goes next

I always enjoyed PvP in WoW from very start, specially looking forward to new Legion Honor system and some PvP changes along the way. Glad they're removing gear from equation and focusing on each class and spec to differ more. Loved the old raiding and exploration style, mainly how gearing was more authentic. All the random moments around the 'old' world like PvPing and grouping to do events was awesome

I'm actually really hyped about the Legion-Expansion. I've been up-to-date on almost everything on the Alpha front so far and what I#ve seen thus far has been amazing. All the Lore but also this new world coming to life is incredible to see. But what I'm more hyped about is playing with some of my friends again that all gone their way once Warlords of Draenor was 'out of date'. I mean we know each other since Wrath of the Lich King, had some fantastic but also emotional experiences, and somehow we all more or less lose each one but knowing they all are gonna return in Legion is something special and really appreciated

I am most excited about playing a demon hunter. I have always been a fan of the misunderstood hero. Illidan is just that. He did what he did for the protection of his people. To play a part of that legacy is something that rings with me. On a separate note one of my fondest memories was my very first day in vanilla beta. I had never played an mmo and started as an alliance player there was a shout out for any and everyone who wanted to raid the horde to meet in booty bay. I ask how to get there and was told to head towards the ocean from Westfall and swim south. Well needless to say I did just that and got confused as to my location and did not know about fatigue. So ya I died from swimming to far out in the ocean. While silly and embarrassing it still rings to this day as a great memory.

I am mainly excited for Demon Hunters.

Started playing WoW in TBC and ever since I had a dream of being Illidan-like. I have ran Black Temple milions of times, and still no sign of those magnificent-looking awesome Warglaives.

Ever since I have been stuck in TBC nostalgia; praying that one day I will be the wielder of glaives... And now the moment has come, Demon Hunters, the TBC revival and I can't even tell you how excited I am.

I am really looking foward the changes in the balance-druid's playstyle because it is my main character at the moment. But i am also interested in how to Play a melee-hunter and the demonhunters.

The artifact weapons seem to be very interesting as well, because you can decide what to skill first an how your weapon should look like.

I want to try all the new dungeons in different specs an roles.

I am excited for many things in legion including the Demonhunter class. I am curious about many of the class changes that will be taking place and though that means relearning my classes I have become used to that over the years and expansions. I started playing vanilla so have had a lot of practice accommodating class changes even when I did not care for all of them.  WoW was the first MMO I had ever played and is still my favorite. When I first started playing as a Night Elf, I was blown away by the beauty of the game art and the immersion in the world. Since then I have enjoyed every expansion over the years, to varying degrees and made many friends, many of which have been so since vanilla. I find the upcoming artifact weapons intriguing, though I do have reservations about being locked into particular weapon skins depending on your spec. Beast Mastery hunters having to use a gun if they want to show their artifact weapon being a major peeve. Not only is that gun ugly as sin, I have never used guns if I could help it and now always transmog out of them

With Legion I am obviously really looking forward to exploring the Demon Hunter class, but I'm also looking forward to more night elf lore. I'm also excited about Sylvanas role in the new expansion. I try to not read too much about it, so that I'll go in blind without knowing much of whats gonna happen. But some things you can't avoid reading about, like Illidan and the Demon Hunters. But I hope they'll make it easier to communicate with strangers, whereas the Garrison in WoD made things quite antisocial.  My favourite WoW experience must be how my guild was a few years ago. We were a really tightly knit guild and we did all sorts of "crazy" things together. We were a bunch of noobs really, but somehow, one day we found ourselves at the gates of BWD and although it took a few hours, we got through it. This was when Dragon Soul had launched, so the content was technically way below us. But it was one of the funniest evenings I've had on world of warcraft

I cannot wait for Legion to come out, it is all i have been thinking about the past few months. For many reasons, it is not just an ordinary expansion pack, it is basically a new game being introduced all together. I am really looking forward to all the new class and spec changes (animations, rotations, talents, etc..), order halls, bringing back a natural feel the game that i feel Dreanor took away with a hub for players to gather. I am also looking forward to all the new lore surrounding the game as well as past lore were will be able to wield powerful artifact weapons that tie into the WoW lore universe. This really sets the game apart from everything else it has done, it is so awesome to see the direction in which the game has come, from just its origins to now your character not only feels like it has a place in this universe but from all the expansions leading up into this you feel as if you are becoming this WoW legend yourself from a commander of armies in Dreanor garrisons to now wielding amazing power in Legion. Another feature i am so excited for is the new transmog system, adding it to the collection journal tab. I have OCD when it comes to collecting, i need to have everything or i wont feel "satisfied" so this new system is going to be amazing, plus the amount it is going to save on space and cost with void storage and transmog. All in all after all is said and done, i love WoW, down to every little thing the game does, it goes above and beyond expectations for me and never gets old, there is always something to do. Thank you for giving me the chance to express how i feel.

Thanks guys for all of your hard work! 5 years passed so quickly, helped a lost player many times.

For legion I am really excited to see where they go with professions, I still miss that vanilla feeling of professions meaning something. All of the class changes are awesomely nuts....oh and did I mention deamon hunters?

One of my favorite parts of every expansion (played since Vanilla) is leveling/questing exploration of new areas and stories. Usually I level up 4-5 chars before going deeper into lategame. Also cannot wait to see all the new things Legion will bring to WoW. This game seems so immortal, nevertheless few years ago it was considered as dying.

My heart goes out to the Windrunner family who have had more than their share of tragedy (In Sylvanas' case not the Banshee Queen but rather the fallen Ranger General.) As such I am very excited that my MM hunter will be wielding Thas'dorah the Windrunner's family bow as his artifact weapon in Legion. Time for payback Legion scum.

I'm very excited about getting into the new dungeons which look like they could be the best we have seen in a while. The transmog and item storage and display changes are long overdue and will make that whole system better and easier.

You guys have been helping the gaming community for a while now and I wanted to say thanks. I hope your passion for World of Warcraft never dies out  As for the game itself, I'm really hopeful that the "extended" team will do a good job with Legion. Seeing as how Blizzard's other games have been paying very good attention to player feedback and making updates / patches in line with community expectations lately, one can't help but wonder if WoW will follow. I'm really looking forward to how the lore will be explored and revealed in Legion. I will probably spend time most of my time playing with Enhancement Shaman and Demon Hunter classes so I'm hoping gameplay will be awesome with them. The best moment in WoW for me was killing Sartharion 25 Man 3 drake for the first time. If i remember correctly we were alliance first in my realm as well so we were very proud.

I really look forward what Blizzard does to the classes. The changes I have read so far make me excited that Blizzard tries something new and or unique for each class, so to make every class different in playstyle. Also the scaling leveling experince is something I look forward to, to make content relevant agian when you go back at max lvl and finish them

I'm looking forward pvp talents, this is what I've been waiting for 10 years to split pvp and pve, I think it's gonna be crazy good for the game and for the players . My best moment in wow is when me and my best friend IRL got our first pvp weapon in Season 6 with the requirement rating of 1850, never been so excited of my life

Overall, I'm excited to see the interface changes but nothing is more thrilling than the huge lore burial ground than the Broken Isles themselves. It's one of the things that makes the game exciting for me

I started playing during Wrath of the Lich King and had the most amazing experience with a video game ever. I continued into Cataclysm but had to take a break after Firelands, returning at the drop of MoP I was sorely disappointed with what they had done to the game I loved. I played on and off, not seriously returning until WoD hoping they would undo some of the things they had screwed up in my eyes. WoD was a step towards the right direction again but still didn't have the same feel as Wrath or Cata. I'm truly hoping that Legion is what I have been waiting for, where I actually want to log in every single day and enjoy plentiful content. Here's to Blizzard getting back to their roots which hooked so many people on WoW!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
