Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Hi there ! That giveaway makes me feel so good ! I'm pretty sure that the beta will be available very soon !

I played during WotlK and Cataclysm and a little bit during WoD. I loved almost everything, the quests, the landscapes, the incredible soundtrack, the raids ... I'm sure that it will last in Legion.

But Legion can bring a lot. I think it will be a very special extension because it's the first time Azeroth will fear such a threat and our characters will be powerful as never before. Anyway, I think that the lore of Warcraft will be almost impossible to ignore and it can be only good for the game.

That said, I hope that Legion will fix two things :

- The 5 men dungeons. I hope they will be a little bit more difficult, like at the beginning of Cataclysm.

- The interactions between players. The housing of WoD killed that aspect of the game. We will have housing in Legion, but I hope it will take less time ...

Well ! I hope I'l get a key to see it by myself !

I can't wait to try out Demon Hunters.  I'm hoping to make one my new main in Legion.  I'm also interested in checking out the new changes to Rogues and Druids

I am very excited for Legion. So many changes are going on I am actually for the first time not sure which class I want to level first. That is how good some of my fave specs are sounding to me. And even trying to choose a main is going to be super hard for me. I am trying to decide between Druid, Priest, Shaman and Hunter. I have been playing this game for such a long time. I have played many of the classes and specs. Healing and dps being my fave things to do. So for them to be making the heal spec to actually be viable to level with in Legion is awesome to me. I have always wanted to level as my heal spec in previous expansions but it was just not the most efficient way to do it. So it made me try out dps specs which turned out great cause it made me really enjoy the dps side of that character. I love how the game always changes in each expansion adding more spells or improving on existing ones. I do not know if everyone feels the same as me but being able to basically feel like you are playing a new class but not be is fun for me. Bring on Legion cause I am ready.

A lot of times it's the system or quality of life aspects I look forward to most. An example in Legion is the updated transmog system, as well as the systematic concept behind artifacts and color schemes/designs. It's something that I'd love to see iterated on moving forward. I'm also looking forward to collecting new mounts, which I'm preparing to binge-collect at Legion's launch

There's actually two things I'm looking forward to in Legion. I think the Transmog system will be excellent for clearing out my bags, and honestly, I'm kinda enjoying the Demon Hunter hype. I've always loved platformers, so the double jump calls out to me. Though I'll probably stick with prot paladin as my main. Demon Hunter is still looking like a two button class :(  I will definitely level a DH tank though.

And just for completeness sake, my fondest memory is when I led my guild to our very first Kael'Thas kill pre-nerf, and having the Hand of A'dal title. Good times.

I've been playing this game way too long, hah.

Looking forward to hunters as a whole and hoping that SV hunters are (M)raid viable, because that's "all" I do.If not that then I hope that either Ele Shammies or Fire Mages are .Also, really looking forward to whatever happens with Sylvanas.Artifacts and scaling quest zones are a welcome change as well. All in all I have a positive outlook on the expansion

Hi there. Good job Icy Veins. Followed your site all this time, as a reader. Ive made close to 20 lvl 100 characters, and from the days of Thottbot (haha), this and wowed is my "only" wow-go-to sites. Whenever im in doubt about a stat weight, a tier swap question or anything in the likes, I come here for the most respected answer in my eyes. Keep it up, and have a great Legion time. After having played since Vanilla, I would appreciate the chance to offer Blizzard my feedback, so I can help shape Legion into being the best expansion since TBC/WotlK.  Im very much looking forward to Legion, as it looks promising in regards of bringing back a much higher skill cap ceiling for 5 man content. My favorite parts of the game outside raiding has always been HC dungeons. In TBC and especially in WotlK, it was something I could do every day. With blizzard brining reasons to implement more dungeons along the way, we can hope for a much more thriving dungeon environment. Ive played WoW for almost 11 years, and WotLK Wrath Gate cinematic, along side the feeling of killing that first boar in Hellfire Peninsula when TBC launched. what a feeling. I got a blue boot drop, that replaced a molten core item, haha. Was feeling bit ambivalent about that, but it was an amazing journey from there. Getting that first ride on a flying mount. That was something. The moment you upgraded it to epic speed was indeed an epic feeling.  So all in all, Im hoping that Legion will bring back the playability and skill cap levels of the open world and in dungeons, and that raiding continues its course. If this happens on the expense of habit more dull leveling experience that is 100000% fine with me. In WoD that leveling experience is lasting maximum 5 hours for me atm anyway with the way heirlooms, xp boost and bonus objective areas/treasures are working. So the focus SHOULD be on dungeons and end game content, and NOT on leveling. WoD was one of the most fantastic leveling up run-throughs I've had in this game on my main at launch (after the issues with servers/realms), but that has not lasted till this day, and certainly won't come back before Legion either.  Look at it this way: All focus was put on WoD open world for leveling. Fantastic leveling. But at lvl 100 we all ended up in the same tiny spot: Our Garrisons. In 6.2, we are all in Tanaan. And still, rest of WoD mapping is laying desolate. Im very much looking forward to the changes in gathering/fishing/general open world content. See ya in Legion, hopefully in Beta already.

Thing I wait for the most in Legion, Demo Warlock. As a warlock main I'm liking what I've seen so far for the Warlock. My fondest memory of the past has to be the moment I tamed my first Hunter pet in WotLK, I miss those times. It might be convenient now but much of the nice little RP value is gone from the leveling experience.

When I was a child, I was going to Internet cafes and looking at World of Warcraft players at there. When the Burning Crusade released, I was at the Internet cafe and watch how people goes through gates. I loved this game at this moment even more but I had no credit cards to subscribe because I was under 18 at this point. Then in the stores pre-paid card payment methods appeared and I started playing this game in this way. First thing that I do in this game, which is most valuable, was running around orgrimmar and seeing how big it is and I lost myself in the game. I still running in Orgrimmar without doing anything (I know you guys there )

My favorite WoW moment in the past was leveling up a 4-person static party from 1-60, doing all the dungeons at level while we played in the same room. I'm looking forward to the new 5-man dungeon content as a potentially viable end game option

I'm really excited about the new raids. To finally be able to enter the Emerald dream/Nightmare is something i have been waiting a long time for. To finally be able to put an end to Gul'Dan is also exciting, and since the raid content has been top notch for the last tiers i don't think they will let me down from a gameplay perspective.

I'm also excited about the artifacts and how they will be giving every spec their own flare. Currently lvling every class on live to be able to catch them all :D

Active wow account since 2006, never won any beta invs. Until now it wasn't problem, cause you know I could just reroll whenever I want - but now I really want to test each class and spec cause of complete class revamps and mostly the artifact weapon

I'm probably looking forward to the artifact system the most. I admittedly really miss the old WoW talent tree system, and the artifact system seems to bring back some of the customization we lost with the revamps. Plus, the artifact quests look pretty awesome. They'll bring new life to my alt brigade. My best WoW memories mostly tie in with raiding. My first time tanking Onyxia as a bear tank back in vanilla, my first time exploring ZG, my guild's first forays into the Black Temple and Tempest Keep in TBC, and finally killing H25 Lich King in WotLK are probably my top memories. It's the beautiful concept of teamwork mixed with the adrenaline of new encounters, the excitement of exploration, and the fact that you're with awesome people that make WoW worthwhile

My kids are really interested in the transmog and legendary kit, but I'm just an old fashioned 'lock who still gets a buzz from an Achievement. It would be nice if Blizzard make Keymaster a Legacy achievement. No pressure but I was gutted when that little key icon disappeared from the menu tools. Really looking forward to Legion

I am most excited for the Xmog overhaul. Ive spent over 800hours collecting 10,000 individual pieces of Armour across my 15 max level characters and cannot wait to do a parade around new Dalaran and be the envy of all the beta testers hehe (of course once live character transfers are in )

Back in vanilla wow i certainly wasn't a max level raider or anything, but i liked leveling up, and i had a hunter, whom i played as melee, wing clip and all that, and i loved it, it was a way of playing that noone really did, and noone could tell me how to do it. and i'm looking forward to doing that again in legion.

What I'm looking forward to the most in Legion, is the changes in Disc Priests. Everything that's rolling in sounds so awesome and has me hyped, but this is the one thing that has stuck out the most. I think they have finally pinned down and found the true embodiment of a disc priest and I'm super stoked to be able to give it a whirl

I can't tell you how many times I've used the guides here. I am very excited for Legion, haven't been this excited for an expansion since TBC. After playing this game for about ten years now, and more specifically a Paladin for this long, I'd say im most excited about the changes coming to the Paladin and what this expansion is giving to this class as a whole (freakin' Ashbringer. In my years of experience in this game, I've been through countless tiresome raids and infuriating arenas, but had so much fun along the way. I'm very happy to have been apart of this long and crazy ride known as WoW.

I started playing WoW in BC but really spent all of it leveling, it wasn't until Wrath that I actually got into the game in all aspects.  But what I enjoyed most was pvping in arenas. My friend and I were a two man team, I was an unholy death knight and he was an arms warrior. It wasn't the greatest idea I admit but we had a lot of fun and I won't ever forget those times

looking forward to Legion. new animations look great and love seeing the diversity of the classes so far in Legion. I only play one or two characters (consistently) right now but in Legion I could see myself playing 5 or maybe even 6. I've had many great memories throughout WoW but my first Ragnaros, in vanilla, kill is my favorite memory

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
